  1. I'm enjoying it so far. At first I thought controlling the Big Daddy was a bit laborious but I'm getting used to it. I still miss wrenching dudes like I did all the time in Bio1, but I guess I can make do with the drill.
  2. "Early summer." Good news. The gameplay footage in the video is reused though. On an unrelated note, anyone find it ironic that directly after we find out that they added an inventory comparison Yahtzee complains about the lack of one in his Borderlands review? There's not really any causality there - it was an issue that we realized needed to be addressed quite a while ago. Before Borderlands even came out, as I recall.
  3. This is finally unlocking on my Steam account. Maybe I'll give it a whirl at lunch.
  4. Theoretically I should be playing ME2 (which I enjoy when I sit down with it), but my levelling pally tank in WoW keeps on sucking up the hours. BioShock 2 starts downloading off of Steam tomorrow, too, I guess.
  5. That's not entirely accurate.... ...except for the "learned a lot" part. But I digress.
  6. Taipei is still in the game. Probably just wasn't mentioned by the PR guy.
  7. That thread is also intended to be a "meet and greet", not for sharing any info about the game (which we're not able to do here or there). If you guys ever have any personal questions for Obsid developers that you'd like to ask on our forums, you can always feel free to post them in the Obsidian General board and we'll be sure to hit them up.
  8. That is indeed an outfit worn at the beginning of the game, when Mike wakes up in a medical bay. I don't think it'll be available afterward - although it'd be fun to see Mike pretending to have wandered out of an insane asylum as some kind of devious disguise.
  9. Sorry for the frustration. Until our publisher announces a release date, there's really not much we can say, not even a ballpark estimate.
  10. +1 You did a walkthrough for it on Gamespot too, unless it's a different Matthew Rorie. Nope, that was me. I did those for them for a few years. Too bad most of them have broken navigation now.
  11. 1: Hmm, maybe, if you butter up to everyone who can sell weapons to you. I hesitate to say "for sure!" because there might be some mutually exclusive weapons dealers (although I don't think that's the case). I know our systems designer was very strict about not letting people fall into the trap of maxing out their assault rifle skills and then killing someone without knowing that that person sold the Assault Rifle Uber +10 that that player would definitely want. So you can definitely own all of the most powerful stuff. 2: I don't think gear is carried over, but there is a Veteran system where you can restart the game with a lot of skill points (and unique conversation options). You can get cash from a variety of sources, including loot pickups from dead enemies, hacking into computers and setting up account transfers, cracking into safes, selling old equipment or mods you don't want to use, etc.
  12. Sorry for the continued silence on the game - we should have some stuff (hopefully) soon. I wish I could discuss specifics and timeframes, but it's rarely in our hands and I would rather say too little than give specifics that wind up being untrue.
  13. I don't think Obsidian can help much in this area - LucasArts would be the one to contact in the case of missing discs/bad CD Keys, or technical support in general. Sorry! I'd send you a disc if I could but we're coming up on the five-year anniversary of the PC version's release and we don't have a lot of copies hanging around the office...
  14. I had a bit of a soft spot for that game when it came out. Maybe it's just my perverse attachment to kicking/throwing people off of high places, which also made Assassin's Creed a joy.
  15. We're actually talking with a new PR agency that Sega has hired to work on AP matters pretty soon, and I'm due to record some more voiceover for a walkthrough video in the next couple of weeks, as well. Sorry for the lack of info lately, but hopefully things will start popping up relatively soon. While the game was delayed, I can assure everyone that it's very much coming out.
  16. As mentioned, new publishing avenues are going to be up to our publishers, so putting NWN2/KOTOR2 on Steam is going to be up to Atari/Lucasarts, respectively. Sorry; we'd love to have them on there as well.
  17. Pistols are great if you want to be sneaky - they're relatively quiet, can equip silencers, and are pretty precise, letting you make headshots if you get up close to someone without being seen. SMGs, on the other hand, are great for taking down groups of enemies at close range, provided you don't mind everyone else in the area hearing you - they're loud, but powerful. So I guess it depends on your play-style.
  18. It's a skill-only system; no attributes. The skill system awards you AP for leveling up and certain other tasks. Each level of a certain skill costs X amount of points, but some skills cost more to level up than others, with Stealth being the most expensive. I certainly hope we get the opportunity to talk more about the plot before the game comes out - it's kind of the last major thing we have to speak on. There is a trailer that will hopefully be coming out sometime soon that sheds some light on the plot.
  19. You can't dual-wield pistols, sorry! Pistols in AP are really meant to be stealthy/sneaky weapons instead of what you'd use for room-clearing or guns-blazing action. I don't have a number on the scopes in my head, but there are plenty of different sights and scopes to choose from, alongside all the other varieties of mods for all your weapons that you can buy and sell.
  20. Hey bud, welcome to the forums. I'll see if I can answer some of these. 1: We haven't been updating very often lately, but things are going to start moving pretty soon in terms of new interviews/press stuff/etc. If you're looking for some background info, I would check out our blog on IGN for some good info on the game. 2: Sorry, no. I think Sega is going to be working on getting one set soon. 3: There are four main categories of weapons: pistol, smg, shotgun, and assault rifle. Within each category, though, there will be multiple weapon manufacturers, and thus many different types of each weapon, with different strengths and weaknesses. There are also a ton of weapon mods you can buy for your weapons to customize them more. There are also some special weapons that you can nab throughout the game, like rocket launchers or turrets. 4: There is a knife that MT can use; the knife is used to stealthily take down your enemies if you manage to sneak up on them and want to kill them quietly. (You can also use non-lethal stealth takedowns if that's your bag.) 5: No real relation, sorry. I think Alpha Protocol was conceived before Burn Notice started to air. But I know some team members are fans of it. Always meant to check it out, myself...
  21. I had a good time with Upgrade Complete not too long ago. It's about as simple as it gets, but as a parody it works pretty well.
  22. I don't think news about a CE would come from this forum - that would be Sega's news to break. But we'll see.
  23. Just to be clear, this is from an extremely early pre-production build.
  24. I think they'll still have PAX in Seattle this year. But yes, the past couple of PAXes have been pretty fun, and very affordable to attend. (Or they would've been, had I not been attending as a game company representative.) The Panels are usually the best parts. Had a really good time at the Giant Bomb panel last year, watching them make three dudes eat cup-o-noodles filled with warm Monster energy drink in exchange for a StarCraft 2 beta key.
  25. Hey Kruize. I can't speak for our hiring manager, but I can concur with the above statements that your skill set is more important than your schooling - we'll accept applications from students at basically any school if their education has prepared them well for a position in the industry.
