  1. I don't need a crying baby in Alpha Protocol, thankyouverymuch. That shouldn't mean however that I want to play with a robot, either. Just make him "believable".
  2. Combat in NWN was so bland I could mostly ignore it, and when a fight initiated, I just wanted to "get over with it" quickly. Same with Kotor.
  3. Watching this E3 gameplay demo leaves me unimpressed. I get the feeling F3 could turn out bland and boring. Same with STALKER. A good start with some entertaining first 5-10 hours gameplay, but then I loose interest. If dialog and roleplaying isn't the real focus there, what could keep my interest up in these wastelands? Where's the variety?
  4. I never cared about alignments in D&D, what are they good for anyway?
  5. I wanted to visit the Tarantian noble district, but was immediately killed by lvl 42 thugs. Oh great, and I was just there for a bit sightseeing. Now that there're no quests for my lvl range available anymore, I'm now playing in Cimmeria. I hope I reach lvl 30 before the quests run out there, because grinding is boring.
  6. You are correct, the monthly fee system needs to die an extremely painful death. Not gonna happen, unless you want to see MMOs dying an extremely painful death. I would not mourn their demise, in fact I might even rejoice. You don't like MMOs, then don't buy them, simply as that. Wishing somethings or someones demise is neither constructive nor will make things happen better.

  8. Lvl 22 now, playing in the Wild Lands outside Tarantia, and still having plenty of fun. There's a content update supposed to be released sometime next week. Anyway, I don't see myself reaching Lvl 50 sometime soon - I'm not a powergaming nerd, after all. But the games's definitely addicitve and worth the money, even with it's share of minor problems.
  9. Now I've reached lvl 19 and finally got to Old Tarantia, which is beautiful (kudos to the Funcom artists! You're worldclass!). I really enjoyed what I've seen so far, and it definitely destroys WoW easily. The upcoming WAR is just another quirky and colorful (read: American made) MMO, so I'll settle with AoC for quite some time now. Oh, and no crashes whatsoever. The only thing I once experienced in Tarantia is a memory leak, after playing a few hours. Hope that gets fixed. I'll look forward to the Funcom made "Secret World" as well.
  10. Fat people are humans too, you know?
  11. Bought it, installed it (ugh takes long), patched it (1,57Gbyte Patch wtf?), playing with a Conquerer (melee fighter). Gotta say, I'm pleasently suprised. I was first a bit scared that the game would crash or any other bad surprises could occure, but nope, it runs stable, with a steady 60fps on High details. It looks gorgeous, especially at night. Well, I only played to lvl 8 so far, but I like the combat system alot. The old automatic click-and-wait nonsense from WoW really made me tired, so I'm glad Funcom took a more fast and action oriented approach. Great atmosphere and nasty pirates. There were apes too on the island (but why no monkeys?). So far, so good.
  12. Sexy games from sexy Biowarians. That's the spirit!
  13. Closed story or not, people loved Kotor and that's why there was a high demand for a sequel. You can always create a new story for K3. Duh.
  14. NWN seires is the bes tevre!!!
  15. I'm a fickle bastard, so I'll pick it up tomorrow. There's nothing else left to play until Autumn.
  16. Bioware likes challenges, so why shouldn't they try to get their hands on the MMO market?
  17. I do remember though that once an idiot just held two wires from 230V AC directly to an Elco. It instantly exploded and filled the air with that unpleasent dust. Our palate and throat swelled red and scratched for 2 weeks. Arsehole.
  18. I didn't touch it deliberately. A buddy handed me the PCB over in a sloppy way, and the two conductors landed on my moisty handpalms. Normally, ELCOS gotta be discharged over a resistor, but for whatever hells reason, this one was still charged.
  19. gotcha. i'm surprised a 10 nF cap would hurt, however. you can get the little buggers in 1.6x0.8 mm (dubbed an 0603, btw), so they're pretty small. you likely just connected the two sides and got a shock from that. i must say that i never wear a ring when i'm playing around with PCBs... the first time you melt one you learn (fortunately, my first boss was the one that did the melting). taks I'm not sure about these 10nF anymore, but it was this huge ELCO thingy you normally use to smooth the rectifier DC.
  20. insta-boil for all the water inside it. um, what on earth is a "platinous," morgoth? taks Dammit, I mean a PCB.
  21. I was standing right in front of a tree that was struck by lightning once. It really does explode.. Quite fascinating actually.. It's because trees are inside more moisty, that's where the current seeks to lead a channel. Human skin though has these fine pores where the current leads through I think. Otherwise, this would be pretty messy....
  22. The worst "electrical experience" I had was when I grabbed a platinous with a huge 10nF capacitor on it, and I must have touched the conductors and the capacitor unloaded it's energy....Ouch. Nothing compared with a lighning, but still unpleasent.
  23. When a lighning hits a tree, it usually tears it apart. With humans/animals though, the current flows through the skin and takes the shortest path to the least resistance, that would be ground. That's why humans don't explode when they get hit....like trees.
  24. I wish I was hit by a lighning. This would solve my back hair problem once and for all!
  25. Click Waddya say?
