  1. No, but many woman tend to be interested in such silly topics.
  2. Hey... you're welcome.
  3. 6-8 hours of repetitve jumping? No thanks. The demo was good, but not good enough to warrant a purchase at full price.
  4. I'd recommend Jade Empire. It's also made by Bioware (who did the first Kotor).
  5. I hated these in-between missions in Freelancer. They were all the same and were just as boring as those Mass Effect Uncharted worlds. Freelancer as a linear story driven space combat game with in-between adventure/RPG interaction however would have rocked. In fact, I always dreamt of a X-Wing or Wing Commander game that uses some main-ship exploration a'la Kotor/Mass Effect that allows me to talk to my squad members, do some quests etc. before taking on the next flight mission. I think Starcraft 2 is doing something similar.
  6. I tried out Resident Evil 4 on PC today. Jeez, the controls suck. I did have that Mouse Aim thingy, but aiming was too sensitive...but anyway, so I just played a bit. Either I suck, or the game's actually really tough. I stopped playing after some zombies rolled a huge stone down a hill and I couldn't figure out how to evade it (press 1 and 3....waht?). So, after I quit frustratingly, I was reminded by some fond memories of good old Resident Evil 1. Installed it, and it even ran at first! Unfortunately, I had to put a whole magazine into a single zombie until he stayed dead. Then I ran back, and then the game freezed. Oh well. At least if I decide to give RE5 a shot, I know my PS3 ought to be suited for that.
  7. What... a Natalie Portman thread and no nude pictures posted? Okay...just kiddin. Sometimes however I do have problems to tell her part from Keira Knightley.
  8. That still doesn't explain why the triangular flight objects hovered slowly (!) over the ground, having three huge spotlights under it's belly (what for?) and make strange and incredebly fast manouvers without any sound.
  9. What actually if hundreds or thousands of people see the same phenomena at the same time? Like that Belgian UFO case in the late 80s? (huge triangle shaped UFOs with bright lights). Was that some sort of an optical illusion, or have just all Belgians become crazy? Link
  10. Working together well makes or breaks the game for me. Expert is cool because if you think you could play a super hero and run forward without giving a crap to your team mates, chances are you#ll get raped by a Hunter or strangled by these tongue zombies. This game encourages team play, something that I miss in Team Fortress 2, which is just too arcady and "deathmatch-y" imo. At any rate, I can't wait to try out the other maps, and the Versus Mode.
  11. I'm pretty sure you're wrong. Obsidian will balance the game accordingly to make the difficulty satisfying.
  12. Thorton is a special Operative. Calling in half an army isn't the way Agents are working, I want to handle the baddies myself.
  13. I actually found these Japanese inspired mechs in Universe at War pretty cool. But GPG ain't cool, so Supreme Commander 2 will therefor suck.
  14. Right. "Hold on, bad guys! I've to make a call!" And then mercs with jetpacks drop into the scene and take you into safety.
  15. Well it has huge robots so no wonder the Japs are interested in it.
  16. Well, technically the Source engine is 10 years old and at its core a heavily modified Quake 1 engine. Valve is always updating it, adding HDR, swarming AI, multicore support. I think the Source engine in HL2 is roughly equivalent to UE2, while in HL2:E2 and L4D it's more comparable to UE3. Wrong. The HL1 engine called "Gold Source" (but barely used by this name) was a heavily modiefied Quake1 engine. Source (HL2+) otoh has been completely written new from scratch. One thing I also like about the Ep2 iteration (which L4D uses) are the excellent dynamic shadows. I could direct the flashlight against a tiny tea cup, and I'd see the huge projection on the wall without any aliasing effect or other graphical artefacts. Something in which UE3 completely sucks, which is especially apparent in Mass Effect (flickering and broken self-shadowing). Source Engine FTW!
  17. It's actually astounding how well the aged Source engine still looks. Especially the superb dynamic shadows, the lighting and particle effects. Not to mention the smooth framerate despite having a few dozens high-poly zombies rushing at you. Edit: And it's the first game that uses film grain that doesn't look like crap.
  18. Car explosions are definitely overpowered. Too often I had the unfortunate pleasure to cripple myself even though I was like a mile away from that damn car.
  19. "Using the Baby as a punch-bag" How f***ked up must someone be to do this?
  20. Lest you slackers take vacation and play the game during the working week.
  21. Although I must say the AI is sometimes more sophisticated than some actual players. Anyway, the game makes, despite shooting hordes of brainless zombies, a lot fun. But only if the team's really working together well. I also wish the game would be a bit harder.
  22. L4D demo.
  23. I remember playing a demo of Resistance 1. What an utter POS. I thought I was playing Quake 2 with some upgraded graphics.
  24. The shareholders just wanted to see more profits, so the EA exces fired some 600 people. I love this system.
