  1. Your son is 5 and you let him play Fallout 3? Ultimate fail!
  2. Finished Mass Effect with no hitches whatsoever and got a cool ending too. But I guess people just like to complain for the lulz.
  3. "workable state" Bio games usually are workable at release. We're not talking about Obsidian here, after all.
  4. My guts tell me that AP will be something special. But then again, my guts sometimes also tell me that melon with nutella creme tastes delicious.
  5. I only consider games challenging when I have full control over the player (i.e. First person shooters). If it is your typical Bioware clickfest, then it's maybe tedious, slow, annoying or whatever, but not challenging.
  6. Seems like Bioware initiated the Evil Chris marketing program. The game must be close to release now!
  7. When DNF comes out it will just be a mediocre shooter nobody cares about anymore.
  8. Funny, I thought BO2 was the best in the series, thanks to the dark and gritty feeling to it. SR series was too colourful. Bleh.
  9. Good then that the series died. The last LoK game (Defiance?) was an alltime low in the series.
  10. It still looks horrible.
  11. Coming from the team that made the shallow Dead Space, I'm not expecting something worthwhile.
  12. I think what many story-tellers of contemporary mediums, and game designers/writers in particular lack these days is some decent life experience that goes beyond your typical living room activities. You can't expect something refreshingly good if the only thing people are drawing inspiration from are other popular games and techniques used from the Hollywood kitchen. Designing games is a learning process, learning means experiencing and experimanting through hard work. That means both learning skills with the technology and available toolset, but it also means important soft skills like knowledge in story telling, drawing story boards and having a vast background of different areas, most importantly basic knowledge of history and politics for starters, and more importantly how you can derive information and process it in a creative way so that it enriches your product.
  13. RotA was a reasonably fun game, but I knew from the beginning that it didn't follow the mythology. Of course it would be neat to have an RPG that is close to the real deal, but hey, that would require talent and creativity, something that most devs these days just lack.
  14. Oh my, I completely forgot about the Crossing and Culpa Innata 2. I'll keep an eye on those too.
  15. Have you played it? "Greatest game" stretches it a bit, but it's definately a big calibre on the PS3. The 360 however has so much more games.... Hey, what's up with that Peter Jackson Halo project btw?
  16. Lol, I sold my PS3 already. It was a good deal, but I fear I could get a bit whiney when Heavy Rain gets released.
  17. Well I recently played Gears of War 2 for the Xbox 360 (360 basically supports DX9 API plus some extra instructions) and it blows Crysis with DX10 (which looks the same like DX9) out of the water. So I don't feel that the PC has a graphical advantage over the 360 yet. I also don't think that they're shooting themself into the foot by releasing 360 exclusives, which is shown by the recent sales of Fable 2 and Gears 2. We can get lucky these days if MS releases PC games at all. So if there ever will be a Shadowrun RPG, then it's most likely a 360 exclusive. If Bioware would be the developer, they might convince MS to make a PC version as well (good relationship and all that).
  18. I just finished Gears of War 2. Gears 1 sucked, but Gears 2 is so much better. I also bend down to the art department of Epic. I've never seen a game that features such beautiful environments.
  19. Yeah right Volly, then let's kill ALL PALESTINIAN people, because ya know, they deserve it and all.
  20. I could imagine a survival horror game being made involving these pandas.
  21. They said that when they were still promoting Vista. However, Vista turned out to be unpopular, and DX10 didn't really have any important advantages, so they just dropped the ball on that. Not sure about Windows 7 though. Shadowrun could be released on that, but most likely a year later as an afterthought... as with all MS PC titles.
  22. I bought a copy at ebay, so I'm curious how it will be. I can always sell it back if it sucks (i.e. if the first 15 min suck, I stop playing).
  23. It's not like the palestinian people voted a militant group to lead their government. So no, the palestinian people do not deserve such a "government". The problem is more that militant groups sneek into the government, creating a parallel/sub government and destabilizing it's actual purpose. Their leaders hide in hospitals, schools and universities, surrounding themself by civilians as a "shield", praying their hate, training new suicide terrorists there and producing explosive devices instead of teaching what is supposed to teach in a school. What you're gonna do? Drop a bomb on these civilian buildings? The IDF has to invade the Gaza now with ground infantry and arrest/kill all militant Hamas members individually, because they don't really have another choice.
  24. If there'll ever be a Shadowrun RPG, it has to go through MS, which means Xbox 360 exclusive. Not that this bothers me.
