  1. The new Battle.net looks sexy:
  2. They actually make decent DX10 cards as well. The first gen DX10 cards weren't too good with DX10, actually. They did DX9 really well, though. Nope, still playing it with my "old" 8800 GT. I remember when Crysis came out it was unplayable with DX10. Now, with the same hardware, it's super smooth.
  3. I'm playing Crysis in DX10. The drivers really improved over the last year, so that DX10 games now actually run smooth.
  4. Wow, I didn't know that. I'll meditate about that. Oh, and that testimony is originally coming from an American diplomat. I wonder, are Americans racists?
  5. The Robin Hood game was even more horrible. Nope, I stick to the Original. Though I'm really pissed now that the news was untrue.
  6. I also agree that for a whole thousand years, Jews were never ever really liked. Just sayin'.
  7. Heavy Rain is the only console exclusive game I really want right now. But I'm not gonna buy a PS3 for a single game. I just hope it gets ported to the PC.
  8. Bah, what's up with all these gaming sites these days? Why do they spread only myths and lies? Too bad. Planet 51 the only game they have worked on? Like tha last 4 years? Lazy bastards. That means we can expect the next Commandos in 5 years, and it will be a dumbed down console shooter.
  9. The PS3 has better exclusives than the 360, that's for sure. Uncharted 2, heavy Rain, Last Guardian, Agent etc. I take that over some Halo or Fable bull**** anytime, anywhere.
  10. And why do people think that Heavy Rain will be any different? Cage basically takes a psychological thriller, introduces some quick-time events during tense moments of said movie, and dares calling it a 'game'. You're wrong. Watch the latest gameplay videos (starring Scott Shelby), where there are 3 possibilies to deal with a single scene. Get shot and you have to live with the wound for the rest of the game. I though that was pretty impressive. If you think Heavy Rain is about running around and shoot people in the face, then you're wrong. Besides, the controls look very tight. For a Sixaxis Controller, that is.
  11. Not if this dumbed down mess they pulled with their last games didn't make them any money. But we will see.
  12. I'm guessing it's the latter, because ETW devs announced their cooperation with Steam pretty early. I just hope Sega doesn't pull this "limited Installation" crap on us.
  13. Whatever. From Commandos 4, I expect the basic gameplay, but enriched with new innovations. I expect a full 3D environment (but still with isometric view), more indoor missions (the only thing that C3 did well), some new tricks you can do with the AI, and generally the great and versatile mission design I expect from Pyro, this time probably with a real story, maybe even some adventure/RPG elements.
  14. Yeah, the last third was complete rubbish. Guess Dave Cage didn't know what to throw out of the game to make it more cohesive. That AI stuff, intertwined with the temperature drop was completely artificial and rushed. He should have sticked with the Maya dude and make the conclusion there. Still, overall nice effort. I liked the characters with the exception of Lukas, who was a bit too whiney.
  15. I did play it, thanks. It's just not as gripping and dramatic as Commandos. Also, I felt Desperados is when it comes to opportunities and tools a bit dumbed down. The mission design in Commandos is definately better.
  16. I didn't give Desperados a chance because I don't like the Wild Western setting to begin with. Everything WW sucks.
  17. Imagine the German government would forbid the Ma
  18. Matthew, do you know whether the retail version of the game comes with the Steamworks suit a' la Empire: TW, or does it come with a "standard"-installer?
  19. While Bioware games have a lot of writing, it's not necessarily the best stuff. System Shock 2, Psychonauts, Fahrenheit, MotB...heck even Bioshock (as mentioned by Pidesco) had a lot more impactful writing and more interesting characters. In terms of story-driven games, Bioware already lost it's lead a long time ago. Something like Heavy Rain will crush Bio games easily in terms of story, subject and maturity. Compare the latest Heavy Rain trailer with the one from the latest Bioware trailer "I'm Grunt. I like killing stuff". Just sayin'.
  20. C3 had awful controls (no keymapping IIRC), had stupid missions (focus on action, time pressure) and was overall short.
  21. Sure, it's from Pyro. And no, Desperados didn't do anything better. Commandos > Desperados.

  23. Click It's about friggin' time. The original Commandos was one of the first games I've played, so it has a special place in my heart. Same for the Addon and C2, which were both great. Never could stomach all these clones that followed after (Desperados, Robin Hood etc.), they never reached the excellency of the strategy masters from Pyro. Even more suprised though that they completely screwed up C3 - it was the time when akshun and dumbing down came into fashion. And don't even mention this abomination called Strike Force. But with C4 Pyro says they want to get back to the roots. Anyone else a huge Commandos fan here?
  24. Too bad the Totems game never got finished.
