  1. For a hack n' slash it certainly is ambitious (and controversial). Also again I hate to bring this up again but in which way is Alpha Protocol better? If you take the C&C away its even less ambitious than DSIII. I mean I love Alpha Protocol. Its my favourite Obsidian Game actually. And I defend it like hell at any oppurtiunity. But there seems to be a hell of a lot bias going on here. I played till the point where I had to kill Rajana (?). And I think as a whole I only met like 5 NPCs I could talk to, which all were shallowly written. Sorry. Obsidian has to do better next time.
  2. Is it just me or does this statement display a total lack of understanding of how (game) business functions? GTA 4 required 700 people and a $100 million budget, that'S what I call ambitious. It also sold like 20 million units. What exactly is it you don't understand?
  3. Franz Josef Otto Robert Maria Anton Karl Max Heinrich Sixtus Xaver Felix Renatus Ludwig Gaetan Pius Ignatius von Habsburg-Lothringen is dead. He was 98. Gott erhalte, Gott besch?tze!
  4. Woah, that got me interested. Can somebody give me a synopsis what this game is about? I know it's indie, but from the screesnhots it looks like a top-down turn based TRON game.
  5. But it was Shakespeare compared to Battle LA.
  6. I rather want another AP or Fallout NV from Obsidian, I don't mind the bugs and glitches.
  7. Yeah, it should certainly have more ways to kill baddies. God I so hope I get into the beta. DSIII, while technically competent and very polished, feels lacklustre and very limited in scope. It's like they had either a too small team or not enough time to develop, or both. It's just not a very ambitious game. If Obsidian wants to land a smash hit, they better double their staff and take at least 3 years dev time like Bethesda does to accomplish an ambitious and outstanding product. Other than that, I played and finished the Killzone 3 demo today. Quite to my suprise, I enjoyed it a lot. Funny how games I'm looking forward to nowadays often fail while other games I hardly notice turn out to be utter fun.
  8. I played Dungeon Siege 3 to a point today where I just stopped and uninstalled it. It's certainly well designed for this kind of genre, but there's just not enough diversity in the game that keeps me going. I guess Diablo 3 probably won't be better, so I think I'll just quit Hack'n Slash games alltogether.
  9. Republic Commando was the only good game that was internally developed by LA. TFU was total crap. Hopefully they're gonna make a sequel.
  10. Remember when Feargus said that their licensed IP RPG is a "one time chance"? Are they possibly working on a Blade Runner RPG?
  11. I tried playing Heavenly Sword today but this game just pisses me off. No 5 minutes in it I have to switch characters to that stupid child with the crossbow and shoot assassins. Well, except, you can hardly hit anyone since the controls are completely botched. It's like the designers are doing this on purpose.
  12. I'm gonna try Heavenly Sword. I once tried it years ago but gave up because of sucky (non-existant) gameplay. But after playing the underrated Enslaved I'm gonna give Ninja Theory another chance. After that I'm finishing Dungeon Siege 3. Then I will finally start Witcher 2. Then Red Dead Redemption. Also downloading Crysis 2 SDK and fiddling around with the editor.
  13. Both games suck hard. Better get Dragon Age 2 instead. PS: And here we go.gif
  14. Yeah finally, WH40K Retribution for 15
  15. Peter Molyneux gets new idea while boinking his wife Jesus, what an attention whore. First he shows Fable The Journey as a Kinect title, then retracts his statement and says it's not on rails. Then he complains that modern games are all the same. You know, like Fable and Fable 2 and Fable 3 are all the same. Really, Molyneux just needs to shut up and deliver something that isn't totally gimmicky and overrated.
  16. Except for Gearbox and Silicon Knights. Gearbox finished DNF in one year. Silicon Knights had some platform transition.
  17. Even more puzzling to me is why Rockstar didn't cancel the game earlier. No sane publisher is funding a game that takes 7 years to develop nowadays.
  18. wilkommen to the interwebz! wilkommen to ze intarwebz! [fixed] Willkommen auf der Internet! [fixed] Willkommen im Internet! [fixed] PS: This time for real.
  19. Why are the fired and "abused" devs all crawling out of the woodwork a month after the game has been released? They could have talked about that earlier, maybe inflicting some damage to the sales.
  20. A month old is considered "new"?
  21. Crysis 2 with all the DX11 stuff. Jesus this game is gorgeous!
  22. When I was a kid, I once had a greek turtle. She was still very small. I build a structure with grids so I could put her outside to get some sun, fresh grass and a tomato. One day, I thought, what the heck, the poor thing maybe wanna explore the whole garden. So I put her outside the grid. But watching her crawling slower than a snail kinda tired me, so I got inside house and made me some soda. I also watched some TV for 5 min, until I was reminded the turtle is still out there. So I rushed outside and thing was gone! Gone. I don't think it has survived the coming winter, so I still feel kinda bad. I switched to parrots then, but they drove me nuts so I sold them. I don't feel bad about that at all though. That is my story.
  23. The 3DS doesn't use optical disks, it uses a cartridge. But yeah, that sucks.
