Well, if the GOP wins the upcoming presidential election, they probably won't really need to work with the Democrats, anyways, as Republicans will control both sides of Congress (unless things really turn around for the Democrats, but the Republicans have a pretty large advantage in the House of Representatives, and a fairly large advantage in the Senate, too, so I doubt the Democrats seize control of either outright in the upcoming cycle, but I suppose it could happen), the Supreme Court, and the White House. That will be...interesting, to say the least, if that does happen (...and though I lean, I think, roughly slightly center-right - or maybe just roughly center - I must say that I don't feel comfortable in all of that happening).

Unfortunately, a lot of those Republican crazies are liked well enough by their constituents to actually be voted in, so I'd prefer the more equal motion of removing all crazies from all phases of the election process in general. ...Of course, one man's crazy is another man's realist or whatever else, I think the saying more or less goes, so there's no way to do that democratically.

Of course they want their preferred candidate to work with the opposition...by having the opposition concede and compromise with their preferred candidate, and never the other the other way around.

That's one way to see things. But you see - the crusaders would say that they were overthrowing a usurper and restoring a rightful ruler to the throne. Also they hardly had monopoly on killing fellow Christians. Oh, of course. By modern standards, we'd consider pretty much everything that happened in...well, I was going to say the middle ages, but really, you can pretty much go back as far as you want, and you can go forward a bit too...to be barbarism. Back then, going on at least one of the first three Crusades was the greatest service to God you could possibly do. Nowadays, the goal posts seem to change quite a bit more from decade to decade than they did back then.

Not exactly the strongest condemnation of Christianity there, with all those uncertainities: I'd suggest using the Crusades as examples of acts of barbarism by Christianity if that's what you're looking for, particularly (in my opinion) the Fourth Crusade, which actually did lead to the destruction of the Imperial (Great) Library of Constantinople...among other atrocities, such as besieging and slaughtering their fellow Christians in the name of greed.

Neither Julius nor Aurelian (the two most widely attributed to its destruction) were Christian - just Romans.

The pendulum can also swing in the opposite direction, too - although being underweight is not considered to be as "bad" as being overweight (even though being underweight usually has more serious health effects, particularly when it comes to so-called "extreme" cases, which can more or less incapacitate you pretty quickly if you're there yourself) because you stay moderately "normal"-looking, I guess, unless it's to the point where you're actually bed-ridden or going to die/become comatose. It's a struggle for a lot of people, regardless of where you fall.

With the exceptions of compilation albums and anthology-type releases, CDs are hardly ever filled up to capacity, anyways...though it varies from genre to genre and from artist to artist, I suppose. Vocal and lyric-focused albums/music especially tend to stay around the 40-45 minute mark, and sometimes even get as low as 35 minutes...and basically never beyond 50. (Weird Al and They Might Be Giants come to mind as examples I personally know of off-hand, and I'm sure there are countless more in different genres.) It's just hard to fill up the full 70 minutes or so if there's constant attention paid to vocals and lyrics. For music/artists with stronger instrumental roots, on the other hand...74 minutes, here we come!

A friend and I played the first CoH together (both of us first time players). I went like 8-0 in our matches and we never played again. Good times. Since I don't think I'd have anyone to play the second one with, though, I'll have to pass (...since Chilloutman wants it).

I'm afraid I must admit to a little bit of a gaffe in my previous post that Amentep unwittingly just illuminated for me: I completely forgot that the Animated Series existed, and that's what I was actually watching with a friend, not TOS...and that's what we thought was ridiculously hilarious. I'm not sure how I forgot I was watching a cartoon instead of live action, but...suffice it to say, I forgot I was watching a cartoon instead of live action. I don't think I've seen enough of the TOS to form much of an opinion about it...though I absolutely know it wasn't quite as ridiculous as TAS was. So if you think TOS is not very good, well, I suggest trying a few episodes of TAS on Netflix before you judge.

Context?

It is literally laughably bad. I watched a few episodes at random with a friend, and it was so bad, we were pretty much laughing the entire way through. We were only gonna watch one, but they were so bad, we couldn't help but try a few more and continue the fun.

I haven't worn bright colors since I was a child - orange and yellow are my two least favorite colors. Earth tones (brown, black, dark green, I guess tan sort of, and various in between) and dark red and violet (violet being my favorite color and all) are the only colors I'll wear.

Last I heard, Jordan has taken in 1.5 million refugees... Not too shabby for a country of 8 million or so. Lebanon has similar numbers... But as far as I know, those are the only two major examples. Others probably know more than me.

Mirroring mkreku here a little: I would personally opt for the 970 if you're planning on sticking with 1080p: at that resolution, the 970 exchanges blows with the 390x, often winning or losing by just a little. You're also getting higher reliability (in terms of hardware failure), and much, much better power consumption. If you're planning on going to a higher resolution at some point, I would go with the 390x instead.

Hitachi actually is a full subsidiary of Western Digital these days...though I'm sure (if that graph is to be believed), they still use at least slightly differing technologies or quality control or something. My Seagate 1TB has 38787 hours of uptime (or 1616 days, or 4.43 years), according to its SMART data. I got it...just almost 5 years ago, which means I've been running it pretty close to 24/7 since I got it. I've never had a Seagate fail on me...I literally have like 15 year old 80GBs that are still good that I put to miscellaneous use. In contrast, every WD I've had has died in 2-3 years. It's very weird how lucky I've been with Seagates and how unlucky I've been with Western Digitals - opposite to everyone else's experiences, it seems.

Well, I just shot the guy with my sniper rifle from a side room during the shooting scene, waited for the guy to go down, then shot him, too, and then ran the hell out of there. A little hard to pull off and still get your Silent Assassin rating because of the guards moving about, but you could do it.

I found a copy of an album of a favorite artist of mine that was released many years ago (and only by CDr mail order...consequently, it's not available anywhere in any quality on the internet) by using the Wayback Machine and finding the original label that it was released on's website, going to when they were shutting down and giving out copies of their albums for free. Literally the only download link that worked / that the Wayback Machine archived was the exact album I was looking for. I felt like a wizard after the download completed.

I didn't know she got friggin' jail time! Wouldn't a simple dismissal have been sufficient? Kinda goin' overboard there government. She is an elected official, she cannot simply be dismissed. She is free to resign, or follow the court order. Because she refuses to do either, she is being held in contempt. It's quite a pickle, no one in their right mind wants a government that can simply remove an elected official from office without due process, but you also can't have every county clerk across the country trying to interpret the law based on their 'feels' Isn't there usually some sort of impeachment process for elected officials? I would think that would be the next step if she's continuing to break the law.
