  1. That seems just about the harshest way you could possibly describe a game.
  2. Do we know if Sawyer is the lead designer (or the lead systems designer)? I can entertain notions of this game actually being enjoyable to play when we figure out that.
  3. Uh...except this wasn't a crime purposely committed by one person against another person, it was a completely preventable accident. What, the person who ran over and killed Tray because Tray wasn't exercising proper safety precautions (and common sense) isn't a victim, either? They're probably traumatized for life because of the guy's foolishness. I feel terrible for all parties involved, and nobody deserved anything to happen to them...but something did happen, and there are fairly obvious reasons as to how that something did happen to occur. That's reality...and it's not "blaming the victim", either - blaming the victim would be saying Tray deserved to die, or that he deserved to be run over. I don't think anyone deserved anything to happen to them - just like I don't believe you deserve to be robbed because you left your doors unlocked. It was a horrible accident...but that doesn't mean there aren't reasons as to how it managed to occur.
  4. I didn't have full details of the incident when I said "not his fault". That sounds like a very significant part of his fault. Still horrible, though.
  5. With all the utter garbage they continue to put out in "the live action movie game", the only thing that surprises me is that they're still not losing here. Hmph.
  6. Tray Walker, CB for the Ravens, passed away today due to a horrific motorcycle accident from a day or two ago, may he rest in peace. From what I heard, the accident was in no way his fault, but he was not wearing a helmet at the time, which may or may not have saved his life if he had been. Regardless, still very unfortunate.
  7. Yep, same here.
  8. Which boss? Also, always try to get human help. It's a lot more useful than the stupid ai who will let itself get killed easily. Psh, even the AI help - nevermind other players - can be abused so badly in Souls games if you work the boss right to change its targeting between you and the AI constantly - basically renders a boss useless. Only time I ever used summoning was in DS1 when it was necessary to unlock some particular items. In Bloodborne, you actually have to *pay* to summon others, whether AI or players, which I can't help but pompously approve of. :D Although I still think the price is too low...
  9. Particularly seeing as how Trump isn't even that conservative, and appears to be winning the nomination...
  10. Some of these chalice dungeons in Bloodborne are pretty brutal. Super Abhorrent Beast in the Loran Chalice dungeon is quite possibly the most brutal boss I've ever played against in a Souls game. I learned him well enough (read: died to him a couple dozen times), though, that when I faced him AGAIN in the LOWER Loran Chalice dungeon (because screw me, I guess), I was able to actually beat him on my first try. What a jerk of a game.
  11. I've had...uh...anti-acid reflux(?) since I was a small child. Was always incredibly annoying when people told me to just take some tums to fix it...especially because I absolutely abhor the taste of tums...and it never did anything, because, well, it was the opposite of acid reflux, even though it had the same symptoms. It was fantastic to finally get it properly diagnosed, especially because I love acidic foods. Give me a dozen limes, and I'll give you a dozen eaten limes in 30 minutes.
  12. Yeah, I was just making a really bad joke (in poor taste to boot, because that's how I roll). Yes, I was kind of thinking that as I wrote my post, but it could also possibly be construed as actually being a legitimate argument, which is why I had to refute it because I'm a humorless pedant.
  13. Um, in a different sort of sense/definition of "natural", I guess, sure. I think we can agree that what's considered "natural", at least by the vast majority of people in regards to your longevity is going to be limited to things that occur within just your nature, though. Nobody's going to say you "died of natural causes" if you were killed by a tree falling on your head.

I expected "died of" to be favored here, which it is. I differ on Keyrock's explanation, here: I think "killed" is generally used for unnatural causes of death, while "died of" is generally used for natural causes. This would explain why "died of" is favored for heart attack.

  16. I get the opposite of acid reflux - not enough acid. Feels pretty much the same as acid reflux in regards to symptoms and pain (so much so, that it's frequently misdiagnosed as acid reflux...), but the cure is to eat oranges, limes, grapefruit, etc. instead of Tums (...which will make it so much worse if you do try). I'd rather have that than acid reflux, so you have my sympathies.
  17. You died of a heart attack, you were killed by a heart attack. "Killed by a heart attack" isn't very colloquial, but what's colloquial is not necessarily equal to what's correct. Killed in a car accident seems very colloquially correct to me, but what do I know. (e): There were like 4 posts in between me posting this and the last one I was reading.
  18. The premise sounded at least interesting. However, I thought it was going to be more strategy with RPG elements than the other way around...if it's gonna be a CRPG using Pillars of Eternity tech, I think we can safely throw that out the window...
  19. rip in pieces in pizza in Pisa Sander's campaign
  20. I think that may literally be the biggest game box I've ever seen.
  21. Could you give us an example of what one forum did to make you leave?
  22. I hate word problems... ...and also the fact that I'm absolutely terrible at them. I also feel like that the novelty of eating Pizza Hut every day would wear off awfully fast. I could probably handle that for a few days in a row before I never wanted to eat it again.
  23. From my experience of multiplayer FPS games, it's more like that the vast majority of FPS players are pretty stinking bad. However, only some types of shooters highlight this fact, whereas some other types of shooters don't. It's extremely noticeable in a game like TF2, for example, where the overwhelming majority of players are clearly and absolutely terrible, and where one half-decent player with good game sense and decent aim can come in and start absolutely wrecking the rest of the server. It's not unusual for a simply decent player to make enough of an impact where the other team will literally start leaving en masse because they simply can't do anything. Other games, such as Counter-Strike, can make it seem the opposite way because of the very sudden death nature of the game, where one bullet can and will kill another player, no matter how good they are. Sure, a good player will absolutely have a great edge over other players who may or may not be bad, but...the effect is nothing like you'll find in a game like TF2. I'm not sure how this applies to the Division, exactly, because I haven't played it, though. I would guess from the Tom Clancy label that it would be more like Counter-Strike, but I know next to nothing about the game, so...
  24. In other news, in a CNN interview, Bernie Sanders denounced any of his supporters using violence in the protests against Trump, which I'm happy to hear, since I actually fully agree with Volourn here (at least, in this particular facet of the argument). Not that that's any surprise - he's arguing against Bruce, so of course he's correct.
