  1. Weird playoffs: all 4 wild cards win for the first time in NFL history in the wild card round, all 4 lose in the divisional round.
  2. Yeah, as long as Broncos make it, I don't much care what happens anymore, as I'm alright with anyone but the Patriots winning, . But yeah, more likely, it's gonna be the Patriots...so go NFC!
  3. Yeah, I said that near the end of the half, where they were down 0-31, haha. Yay, Broncos win! Though everything everything went wrong yesterday, everything went right today. Unfortunately, I don't think either the Steelers or the Broncos are capable of beating the Patriots, so it's irrelevant...best of luck to them, regardless, though.
  4. It sucked to lose to the same garbage overtime rules in the playoffs two years in a row in a time and age where the game favors the offense so much more than the defense...particularly at the end of a game, where defenses are so gassed, and where the coin flip is quite literally the deciding factor. Rodgers remains winless in OT games (both post-season and regular season) over his starting career (8 years, to be exact) thanks to the Packers being spectacularly bad at OT coin flips and his defense being similarly spectacularly bad in the OT period. However, it was a pretty fantastic game, and never expected to go toe to toe with the Cardinals. It was so, so frustrating to see the defense drop literally about 4-5 sure interceptions: we get those, and there's absolutely no way the Cardinals stand a chance. It was amazing see Rodgers make magic again with literally our first (Jordy), second (Cobb), third (Adams), and fifth string WRs (Montgomery) out, as well as our first string TE (Quarless), and to see another amazing "Hail Rodgers" to bring us back when our defense failed him again. Still, fantastic game, didn't hurt too terribly, particularly after last year's total collapse (this was a much, much better performance, IMO, even though it may not be reflected by the scoreboard). I'm also pleased to see the Seahawks getting utterly annihilated by the Panthers right now: happy that either the Panthers or the Cardinals will end up going (well, almost certainly, anyways).
  5. This hurts the same as Christopher Lee. RIP Mr. Rickman.
  6. Yeah, that sounds terrible. All this terrible talk about this is just making me want to keep my wisdom teeth even harder...and to brush and floss them like crazy to try and make sure nothing ever goes wrong with them.
  7. My immediate family has probably had a combined total of like 7-8 dentists over the years. If none of them can do it right, I'm not even sure what the point of looking for another would be, . Current dentist is the only one that's actually believed and tried to work around it, so...
  8. My family appears to have resistance to the painkillers used for dental work, as we need significantly more than normal to be numbed, and we need it applied much more frequently in order to stay numb. The general anesthesia used to put a person to "sleep" for more extreme procedures also does not work on us, as one of my poor sisters discovered when she had her wisdom teeth removed...and as we heard in her secret recording of herself that she took with her phone, as she screamed bloody murder the entire time while the tooth surgeon or whatever kept telling her to stop it and that she was perfectly fine...but she was definitely not fine in the slightest. Most dentists don't appear to believe you when you say you can still feel stuff: I was lucky in that I was initially fine for a procedure I was undergoing, until I was suddenly not...and in fact, random parts of my mouth that were supposed to be numb were actually not numb at all to begin with. I was also lucky in that the dentist I had actually cared about my well-being, and decided to experiment and verify that the painkillers were not working as they should, which we then worked around and knew for the future. Regardless, I don't feel too comfortable undergoing surgery if I can avoid it.
  9. I have official (except where denoted) soundtracks in some form or another (almost entirely CD FLAC - almost) from the following series: Age of Empires series (1, 2, Conquerors, 3 other compilation CDs) Baldur's Gate series (1, 2, unofficial ToB, unofficial Dark Alliance) Banjo-Kazooie series (Kazooie, Tooie, Nuts & Bolts, "BK Betas", "Everything and the Kitchen Sink") Diablo series (2, LoD, "The Music of Diablo") Donkey Kong series (Country 1, Country 2, Country 3, 64) Half-Life series (1, Blue Shift, Opposing Force, 2, Episode One, Episode Two, Portal, Portal 2, "Songs to Test By", The Orange Box) Icewind Dale series (1, HoW, 2) Secret of Mana series (SoM, SoM +, LoM, SD3) Neverwinter Nights series (1, 2, unofficial MotB) (Dark/Demon) Souls series (DeS, DaS 1, DaS 2) S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series (ShoC, CS, CoP, unofficial ShoC) Super Mario series (Bros. 1, Bros. 3, "World" which also includes Bros. 2, World 2, RPG, Land, 64) The Binding of Isaac series (original, Rebirth) The Legend of Zelda series (too numerous to detail: at least 20 different releases spanning from the original up to Twilight Princess) WarCraft series (1, 2, BtDP, 3, TFT) The following individual games: Chrono Trigger (original, "Playstation Original Soundtrack") Actraiser Soul Blazer Terranigma The Illusion of Gaia (unofficial) Eufloria Fable (original, unofficial The Lost Chapters) Jet Force Gemini Kid Icarus Metro 2033 Planescape: Torment Quest 64 (unofficial) Rogue Legacy World of Goo In short, I have way too much video game music. I also have way too much non-video game music. Note that while I have a few JRPG entries (Terranigma, Secret of Mana, Quest 64, etc.), I am actually not really much of a JRPG fan: I just like JRPG music. Top favorites would probably be Twilight Princess, Quest 64, Shadow of Chernobyl, Diablo II, and...Donkey Kong Country 2. Something like that, anyways.
  10. Man, that sucks: I'm deathly afraid of getting just my wisdom teeth pulled...and I'm lucky enough that my jaw may be just big enough that I don't have to. Cutting it close, but my dentist said I should be able to get away with it, at least for the time being. Hope that gets better, TrueNeutral,
  11. That game was worse to watch, as a Packers fan, than the 2014 NFCCG. That was easily the worst game I've ever seen in my life. Steelers are my most hated team, and I usually at least moderately like the Bengals, but I was happy the Bengals lost. It is demeaning to the League as a whole - and not to mention disturbing - that what goes on in these games continues to go on, and that these headhunting players are allowed to continue to player with 1-2 game suspensions after some truly despicable behavior such as we saw today, while other players get suspended for a quarter of a season (or more) for testing positive for marijuana, a substance that players use to help deal with chronic pain as a result of playing this incredibly brutal sport. The NFL is a truly disgusting organization, and I absolutely hate supporting it in any capacity whatsoever.
  12. I hope the games tomorrow are better than today: these two today are just terrible so far.
  13. If it makes you feel any better, streaming quality (both video and audio) is pretty awful in the U.S., too. Too bad about the rest of that stuff.
  14. I could swear that was already posted earlier in this thread or another...and I posted some sort of refutation of the original report (although somebody said something about the refutation not covering everything).
  15. Why would you pay $75 for it if you didn't care about it? (e): Nevermind, I see that the beta key is actually $9.10. My bad.
  16. Even the real time strategy bits of the Total War games are quite unlike AoE - the TW games are very slow-paced and take a more generalist approach with its use of giant unit clumps and unclear combat conditions (no hitpoints transparent to the player(s), semi-random projectile usage, vague/fluky mechanics like stamina and morale, etc.) which makes micro-management pretty limited at best compared to the games I mentioned earlier. Strategy and general tactics therefore become much more important, whereas speed and micro-management are much more important for games like Age of Empires and WarCraft. Hm, so a combination of TW's strategic turn-based map and AoE's fast-paced RTS gameplay?
  17. Age of Empires is much more similar to the WarCrafts and StarCrafts and Command & Conquers of yesteryear: no turn-based stuff, much more micro focused than macro (although the latter shouldn't necessarily be minimized, mind you), and extremely fast-paced - to the point of the limits of human reflexes and thinking speed at the higher levels. The Total War games are basically the opposite on all of those...so if Cossacks is like AoE as sorophx said, don't expect too many similarities.
  18. Yeah, it's sad to hear. May not have lead the most consistent team year in and year out, but two Super Bowl wins - and both against the BB and TB-lead Patriots - is pretty special. Probably the only HC vacancy this year where you can really say it's an end of an era for a team.
  19. Feels like I've been waiting half my life for this dumb die size decrease...
  20. Yikes, the Seahawks are eviscerating the Cardinals about as badly as the Cardinals eviscerated the Packers last week.
  21. She doesn't have any albums: only singles and 2-3 track EPs. They're all also released digitally only. I'm also not certain why there appears to be nowhere to buy them.
