NFL 2016 Season
In other news, touchbacks now allow the offense to start at the 25 yard line, not the 20 yard line. The idea is to reduce returns, which are apparently widely considered the most dangerous part of the game. ...However, many are saying that this may actually INCREASE returns, because now kickers may feel they'll be better off trying to pin it short of the end zone to gain a yardage advantage for their defense. The NFL didn't really seem to fully consider it's the kicker who generally determines whether or not there will be a return. If anything, it would've made more sense to bring it to the 15 or even 10 yard line - do that, and kickers will try to kick it beyond the end zone every time, and probably be successful most of the time. Overall, I would've preferred things stayed how the ywere.

US Election 2016
Not everyone in past centuries were mass exterminators of the human species. The fact that most rulers were or were willing to be that doesn't really change that. It's not that I begrudge them what they had to do to preserve their kingdoms (there would be even more slaughter at the hands of others if their kingdoms ever exhibited weakness, I'm sure), but do I think they were "good" people? No, I don't think they were. Some were obviously worse than others, though...with Hitler and Genghis Khan and Stalin probably ranking among the worst.

US Election 2016
I mean, I very much respect Genghis Khan and certain Roman Emperors and certain Holy Roman Emperors and Attila and Stalin and Hitler and Napoleon and...in a few certain ways (and some in more, and some in less, ways and to differing degrees than others). In most other ways, most of these people were truly horrifying and literally frightening people who deserve their own very special place in hell. The latter pretty much always outweighs the former when speaking of them except in but a very few contexts.

NFL 2016 Season
Will Smith, former DE for the Saints, was shot to death today in a road rage incident. Police statement: The 34-year-old male victim's vehicle was traveling eastbound on Sophie Wright Place when his vehicle was hit in the rear by a Hummer H2. The collision caused the victim's Mercedes G63 SUV to strike the rear of a Chevrolet Impala who was traveling along with the victim. The male victim and the driver of the Hummer exchanged words at which time the driver of the Hummer produced a handgun and shot the male victim multiple times and his 34-year-old wife twice in the right leg. The male victim was pronounced dead on the scene. The female victim was transported to the local hospital. The 30-year-old driver of the hummer is in custody and being interviewed by police. The gun used has been recovered.

US Election 2016
I mean, Trump already threatened to run third party if he didn't win the nomination - I can't imagine he would renege on that promise if he was actually cheated out of the nomination. He might not end up winning very many votes as a third party candidate in the general election, but it'll be enough to sabotage the Republicans, I am sure.

I seriously doubt that PCIE 2.0 is bottlenecking your SSD. An x16 slot has about 8GB/s (not Gbps!) of bandwidth.

Am I smart
Your perceived value of yourself can actually depend on any number of factors, including ridiculous ones... As someone with an unfortunately long history of depression, I can sadly attest to at least that much.

US Elections 2016
Yeah, and anyone who commits reckless driving (or does any other type of malfeasance with a vehicle) should cause the car manufacturer to be held liable for charges. I think Bernie's a little too hard on guns already, but at least he's got an ounce of common sense here. Hillary's ridiculous.

US Elections 2016
This election cycle has really highlighted how utterly disgusting and disturbing Hillary and her campaign can be when it comes to trying to obtain power (plus, I've been reminded of her campaign using some of the super lame tactics like the flagrantly sexist Obama Boys/Bernie Bros nonsense that was used in both 2008 and 2016). Once upon a time, I may have preferred her over Trump - now, if it's between the two of them, I'll vote third party. There's no better way to disenfranchise roughly a little less than half of your potential voting base than to lie about and demonize a candidate that that voter base really extraordinarily likes and respects, Hillary...and it seems like she will pay for it in the general election (assuming she wins the democratic nomination, which she almost certainly will). It was so pointless to do what she's done, too - she was already likely to win the nomination even without the myriad of ridiculous attacks on Sanders' integrity. What an incredibly stupid and shortsighted way to try to win an election.

XFX has the slowest customer support of literally any tech company I've ever done business with. It took about a month and a half for them to tell me they couldn't find anything wrong with my GPU. The double lifetime warranty on their DD cards isn't really worth the bother.- US Elections 2016
In other news, Nevada has switched to Bernie Sanders as a result of their extremely weird and convoluted caucusing system, and the numbers, which were originally 53%-47% in Clinton's favor, have now swapped to 55%-45% in Bernie's favor. The numbers aren't final, because apparently there's an additional round of the caucus THESE results have to go through, but as it stands, Bernie has somehow gotten more delegates from Nevada with Clinton winning by a 6 point lead than Clinton has. Caucuses are just pants-on-head silly. (e): Had my numbers about the original vote wrong: 53-47, not 55-45. Oops, fixed!- Pictures of your Games Episode VII The Screenshot Awakens

- Buying New Laptop, advice please
At that price range, I don't think there's any way to do that, Sarex. ...though, personally, if it were me, I'd much rather have a random 128GB SSD over a 500GB/1TB HDD, and even though the two roughly cost the same, it's just not really offered at the price range. An i3 is fine...although mobile i3s are admittedly pretty weak, and essentially a tier below desktop i3s. Won't be a world-shaker for gaming at all, of course (...although since there will be no dedicated GPU, it's likely the iGPU that will be the bottle-neck for any gaming, not the CPU), but it should handle pretty much all desktop needs. The AMD CPUs...well, let's just say I'd rather stick with an i3, personally. It wouldn't be the end of the world - not at all - but between power consumption and the options already being a little weak... I would guess 4GB of RAM is probably not the end of the world to you.- Movies You've Seen Recently Thread
Yes, I've been seeing that reviews and ratings from critics have been overwhelmingly negative, while ratings from non-critics have actually been pretty decent. Weird. - Build Thread 2.0
