What Are You Playing Now: The New Beginning Thread
The next encounter, which I was able to overcome was the Old Iron King, the last of the primal bonfire guardians. The boss is easy in theory, but the environment made it the most annoying bossfight of the game so far... Extremely small arena surrounded by lava, with few lava holes in middle of the arena as well, fire attacks knocking out your character all over the place lasting so long, that if you got caught, it was almost sure, you'll get one more hit when you stand up, and one fire beam going through the walls of the arena, which btw also knocked you out... This in the end meant, that a slight touch of the flame caused you to get knocked almost guaranteed in the lava... I had to defeat the boss three times, but first time, he managed to blow a fire on me before he was defeated, but I was still in casting animation, which of course took me down, and second time, I have tried to jump away from the same move, but the lava hole in the middle of the arena, which I successfully avoided the whole time eat me alive during the final roll... *sighs* I just hope, the remaining bosses will have much better design like this one...

My guess would be the wall clipping. That was the most annoying thing of the bossfight. Itโs not much of that in this video, but Iโve experienced it a lot in previous attempts ๐ Yeah, Iโve already know about that ๐

Another Bossfight in Dark Souls 2 successfully behind me. Smelter Demon. The biggest issue with this one was small area, where you could get easily stuck in between wall and the boss, so in ttal it took me 15 tries to down him. Bossfight was straightforward and not complicated to learn. I just had some issues dodging and blocking his fire attack. It was OK when I had destroyed on way to him all the water jugs and cast during transition to his third phase the Fire Resistant Pyromancy (Flame Sweat? don't remember the name ๐) Still during last few seconds all water on me evaporated, so I got burned really hard Still in the end victorious, and that's all what counts

And another bossfight from Dark Souls 2 behind me. This time Royal Rat Authority. What to say about it. The small toxic ratdogs and the the fast boss made a lot of trouble to me. It was clear from first few attempts, that the fight is after getting down the adds very similar to Sif from DS1... But my stubborness was more powerful than my mind ๐ 25 attempts needed form me to give up on dodging and running in between his legs... The first one I went there, was the final try... *sighs* As always, whole final fight here:

Well, E:D was a scam, so does not count. Also both of them are more in line with Privateer or Freelancer. What I am missing is true successor to Wing Commander, Starlancer or Freespace ๐ข

More DS2. After spending few hours in Bright Cove Tseldora, while trying to get all the items, I've moved to another bossfight. The Duke's Dear Freja. Not very difficult boss for being the area boss, but for some reason I was to stubborn to tryout few more tactics and I've insisted to jump under her soul beam. After I stopped repeating that, she fell on second try,,, In total, I've needed 9 attempts to get one more Great Soul for my collection. Whole fight bellow

From the few words, Iโve read itโs remaster. Made by the same studio, which made Uncharted Trilogy. So I expect the same treatment, but I would really like to see the levels behind the broken Giant stone gate... But unless, that would be from From, I donโt believe that it would hit the required quality milestone...

And another boss in Dark Souls 2 down. This time nothing special, just Prowling Magus and Congregation. Not very proud of that, but I needed 4 tries to get it done. Including one when my controller run out of battery ๐What to say, I did not like the encounter, but I did not need to spent a lot to get it done. All I needed was to learn how to avoid the Lightning Bolts *shrugs*

What Are You Playing Now: The New Beginning Thread
After some struggles and 8 attempts, I was able to defeat Scorpioness Najka. IMO encounter with one of the most interesting designs in DS2. My favourite is still Executioner's Chariot, but this one was much more challenging. The biggest issue was to get there. First the poisoned hollows who attacked always in big groups, then invisible enemies in fog area, and next cursed goat-lions with extreme magic and elemental resistances... I do not know, if there was some glitch in development or if it was intentional, but the next two areas after this boss have much much weaker enemies, which I found strange...

And for a change little bit better boss design in Dark Souls 2. The second Great Soulbearer - The Rotten. Just the arena around it was kind of to hot ๐ I died more times trying to avoid lava, than while outrunning the boss Also the area, which you had to traverse to get to the boss was annoying. To many poison spitting statues lying around... All in all 13 attempts to get him down. The final attempt bellow

In this case I think you are right. concept is fine but because of AI and small arena and clunkiness of controls for caster class, it missed the mark IMO. it was even worse in Congregation Fight...

What Are You Playing Now: The New Beginning Thread
OK, I'll be can opener in this thread ๐ After getting owned in Iron Keep a lot again and again and again, I've decided to go to the Mjaula Pit, aaand as you can guess, the most challenging opponent of the game is there on every step... Gravity ๐ Getting to the first boss in Grave of Saints was thankfully pretty simple, due to Laddermaster selling, you guessed it... ladders, of course, the first one for 500 souls was a trap and I fallen to deep, which of course resulted in another "corpse run" ๐ The second obstacle was naked NPC Invader with no weapons, well, at least he looked like it... of course he was wearing transparent gear and two special rings, which conceal weapons, but I have found that out only after reading an Wiki entry on that NPC the next day... Now all the hard hits to my head made sense ๐ And after that one strange boss encounter... Royal Vanguard. I had absolutely no clue how this fight works, so for a few minutes I was just running around, like a headless chicken, while throwing Firebombs in all directions ๐ after a while, I've noticed that one firebomb hit resulted in damage to the boss healthbar, which got my attention, and after another minute or so of running around the ratswarn, I have noticed, that one of the rats in the arena has some strange fur on it's back, so I deducted, that maybe he might be a boss... well, that brought to me another challenge ๐ just go and try to lock your spells on one specific rat in the pack of 12 ๐ not a chance... and I was out of Firebombs... so next few moments I have run for a change like a chicken, with it's head focused on one target, which was impossible to get a lock on ๐ But enough of words, you can rewatch my silly second and final attempt on this boss encounter below ๐

What Are You Playing Now: The Other, Other Thread
And after finding the way, how to remove the poison from her arena, I was able to finally defeat Mytha, the Baneful Queen. Not very hard fight without the poison, just my old bones needed to adjust the reflexes to her fast moves ๐ In total 9 tries to defeat her (including two with the poison still there).

Not really, they got in last few months few games, which I never expected to see there. I think, they provide much better incentives to purchase from them (at least for me), than free game every sale.
