Who voted 5? Edit: And for that matter who voted 1? that has to be either a relatively ignorant vote, or did Vista kill his mother? I have Vista and think it is better than XP by miles, read D_N's post for clarification on how you too can enjoy Vista goodness. DirectX 10? Otherwise I belive that there is still a slight FPS decrease, but anyone with a reasonable (i.e. probably in the area of recommended specs) computer for those games won't notice it. I have had one game crash that I think was vista related, whereas I had hundreds from XP all the way until I changed to Vista. I was going to vote 3, as Vista while being relatively solid provides little new for me, I changed it to a 4 because it really is that much better than XP, for me. Edit2: I could also mention that my only incompatibility issue with vista was Gothic 2, which refuses to run on any Vista machine, though that is a relatively minor issue. Edit3: That is, the only true incompatibility, the rest is solved by always starting programs as an administrator and a few with XP compatibility.

depends upon your installation. mine is just under 3.1 GB ("true" GB, though that works out to about 3.3 billion bytes, since a G is 1024^3). i've heard that others have more. oh, i'm using 32-bit XP professional. taks I didn't know it could vary that much (or even vary at all). I'm using vista 32-bit, so I guess that could make a difference as well.

Lots of zombies? Coop-focused? Valve?
Moatilliatta replied to Llyranor's topic in Computer and Console
It equals a file compression program? Have you ever tried compressing files with a controller? It sure aint pretty. -
Closer to 3,5 GB. Also if you will only get a minor performance boost from 64-bit OS you might want to do what Toms hardware suggests: And wait with ordering the 64-bit till most or at least enough programs are 64-bit (They aren't yet, right?).

Actually I was trying to bait you into explaining why the SNES should be put on a pedestal instead of being in the general 'good And/or awesome with coop' that most consoles fall into.
-
Even the SNES were mainly good for co-op (never mind the fact that I can't find co-op pics on google.): Me and a friend of mine ruined our controllers from playing these too much.

Not really. Dont get me wrong, Obsidian have some great guys on their teams and I'm looking forward to all of their next games with the same glee that I reserve for only a few games a year, but Obisidan still needs to prove themselves as anything but a mediocre sequel developer. I realize that MotB is supposedly good, but I haven't played it yet, and it is an expansion pack and as such doesn't count for quite as much as a regular game. If they release the Aliens RPG and Alpha Protocol as great games, then you can talk about putting them in the top 10, or wherever you want to put them.
-
The research isn't about who makes awesome games, if I've read it right, it's more about how random people rate them and how their games score with reviewers. And yes there is a difference between them.

I usually answer yes to questions like these, even if I don't believe that trans-national coorporations are neccesarily out to enslave humanity. It also helps that I in general belive that globalization will help humanity in general. Also: I do agree, but I'm guessing that the test will take it as me wanting to regulate people up their bottoms, which I'm not interested in. My main gripe with it is mostly that people should stop doing stuff that I dislike. I could find even more but it would take up too much space. @Gorgon The test doesn't ask whether it is correct but whether you agree. My result: Anyway you people are horribly leftist.

Could you give specifics on which parts of it that didn't age well (I'm assuming that's what you mean)? I have wanted to try NOLF2 ever since I finished and liked NOLF1.
-
I was capable of playing through as a gangrel without givin in to the beast even once. It's all in keeping your humanity high, though I guess that playstyle might make playing a gangrel redundant.

BREAKING NEWS: ALPHA PROTOCOL - OBSIDIAN MMORPG
Moatilliatta replied to Llyranor's topic in Computer and Console
This is all well and good, if we totally disregard the fact that people could just save before the conversation. Doesn't it just become a hassle? -

And can we smash them? -
Dawn of War: Soulstorm announced

But the first part, which must look extremely similar to Soulstorm, came out like 4 years ago with several expansion packs later on, even sheltered RPG'ers ought to have at least heard of it. Not knowing about a game like this is like not knowing that your country has been at war for four years! Anyway this discussion really is offtopic. -

Also last I checked we're still in March. First find on google. Edit: Should have looked further down, it's just a forum. Edit2: Also, what's with this? "-Lots of girls and romance subplots. You'll meet tons of different girls on missions and yes you can bag them all." Did The Witcher do that well? -

That could be, yes. I just assumed that he isn't a hermit who haven't heard about one of the best RTS games in the current game market, there is also the tricky part of his post being right after Nick_I_am's post. -
BREAKING NEWS: ALPHA PROTOCOL - OBSIDIAN MMORPG

Title says console-exclusive and article says platform PS3/360/PC, am I missing something? I also echo Tale's question! -

Apparently not, though if my link is correct it should be out soon. I just quickly checked and couldn't find one. -
Dawn of War: Soulstorm announced

The part that really makes them shine for me is their faith based abilities. The one that allows them to shoot holy flames is absolutely awesome for carrying through a tough fight. I've actually found that the flametanks are most usefull as meatbags that soak up damage, rather than dishing it out. But yes, if you want something that can stand up in a fight and kill as well then you kinda have to get the penitent engine, of whom they can only get two. They don't really need the strong vehicles as many of their infantry are quite good. The Sisters of Battle might very well be my new favorite race. -

What did they add to the IG? I absolutely loved them in both WA and DC. -

Anyone that can tell me whether the game feels balanced? Are the old races capable of standing up against the newer races? -
Titan Quest producer rants on PC market.
Moatilliatta replied to Starwars's topic in Computer and Console
I was thinking mostly about PC games as that is what this thread is about, still some interesting stuff though. And socially acceptable as in talking openly about it and people not caring that you're a slimy bugger, which I guess it was like in your example. -
Titan Quest producer rants on PC market.
Moatilliatta replied to Starwars's topic in Computer and Console
Actually, I highly doubt that that would have any noticeable effect, most of the people that I know/ have known who download stuff, are clever enough to realize that those sting operations would have to be incredibly big and done often, to have much of a chance of hitting them. There is also the problem of actually making such a sting operation. Edit: Also, does anyone know when it became socially acceptable to pirate games, music and movies? I've had friends who were sons of policemen who were actively encouraged by their parents to pirate stuff, since their parents thought it was okay. -
Actually, games are going more and more that route. Splinter Cell (try the multiplayer with 2 or 3 if you don't believe me), Doom 3, even Metal Gear Solid 3 had it at one point (and gradually brightened the area to simulate adjusting to the darkness). Those are limited examples, I grant. But "rare enough" isn't so rare that I can't pull examples of popular series off the top of my head. I probably did exagerate somewhat. I'm just tired of the amount of games that do it mostly as a two gig gimmick, the witcher would be an example of that since there were two or three dungeons at most where I needed to us some kind of ekstra lighting. There are so many more examples of games that give you tools to fight the darkness and forget to actually give you a logical point to use it, I finished Crysis and while the credits were rolling, I couldn't stop thinking about never getting to use that nifty night vision. Enough of my ranting though. I'm still wondering about the chair-torch though. I realise that it could be mostly a way to show that stuff is possible, but it will be interesting to see if they can manage to make logical enviroments, that are usefull in the way that the videos are advertising.
