What are your favorite Romance options?
Starwars replied to Darth Revan=Boss's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I think the romances in this game are... Well, not really romances per say really. They're never really developed beyond the very first steps of romance I think (might be different for female main characters, can't remember). But I liked the Handmaiden anyways.- 12 replies

Been replaying KOTOR2 using the steam version and the restored content mod. All in all it's a far more interesting game than... well, a good game I suppose. The story is still really interesting, and many additions from the content mod flesh things out even a bit further. But urgh, the KOTOR gameplay... It's such a boring slog. Unfortunately, some of the combat sections reintroduced by the content mod are really boring to play through which kinda hurts the game. Still, you can't really argue with a lot of the writing. It's a game that hooks me when I play it despite the fact that I really dislike the combat. Now playing Dragon Age Origins again.

Watching the X-Com stream here: http://sv.twitch.tv/2K It's looking pretty damn good.

Been out of town to help a good friend pack her stuff up as she is moving to London. And like every time I help someone move... You feel like you never, ever want to do anything like it again. This girl is especially tough because she is kind of a hoarder. Still, it was quite a lot of fun all in all, just exhausting.

Started up another replay of New Vegas, this time using some of those nice cut content/restoration mods that have been popping up. I gotta say that the mods that restores/opens up Freeside and the Strip really enhance those areas in terms of atmosphere. They feel a lot more bustling now, and navigating Freeside is less of a pain (as it opens up some streets). Of course, you also see why Obsidian had to do what they did to the areas. You can literally hear the engine groaning under the pressure, and I've gotten a crash already in those areas. But if the random crash doesn't bother you much, then I really recommend trying the mods out.

Got it also... No idea what it is about.

Been on a mini "vacation" in Stockholm, though I'll go back next week also anyways. Sunday was especially wonderful. Great weather, just spent the day out in the beautiful city, enjoying the sun, eating good food and just taking it easy. Then in the evening we went to the Stockholm Music & Arts festival to watch Bj

Been playing unusually few RPGs lately, they usually consist of like... at least 90% of my gaming time. But yeah, almost all my playtime has been playing Civ V with the expansion. I liked Civ V vanilla but the expansion pushed it into that "oh god... just one more turn..." area. And speaking of roleplaying, I really enjoy trying out the different leaders and trying to adjust my playing style based on their bonuses. Fun stuff.

I think I'd rather have them do just... I dunno, just an old-school top down thing that is very text-heavy as Torment was. Then go in new directions from there. I think it'd be terrible to just try and "copy" or in some ways cash in on what Torment did. And it would be setting up for disappointment.

You know, I love Chris but does anyone else feel like the whole "spiritual successor to Torment" is setting up for a massive disappointment? I have no doubt that Chris can deliver more incredible games and I would personally love to see it, but Torment is a game that has risen to "godhood" so to speak and comparing any new game with it is gonna do the new game a disservice because people will expect impossible things.

There is a mod somewhere that allows you to use all party-members at once which can be handy. However, it *does* break one particular cutscene (along with the quest progression) later on so be careful if you decide to use it. EDIT: I've mainly been playing more Civ V with the Gods and Kings expansion. Really enjoying the game a lot despite a few flaws here and there. Main annoying thing is that (in classic Civ fashion) turns can take sooo long in latter parts of the game, especially if you want to play more big and epic maps.

SP:TSoT at Comic-Con

New video up at gametrailers, can't get the link to work properly. Vide with some dude talking about it. It's basically the same thing as the written previews except with a boring guy talking instead (no new footage). He liked it a lot though. -

That's awesome!

Watched Iron Sky which I found very disappointing, especially after recommendations from friends. Good example of funny ideas not being particularly funny due to lackluster execution. Blonde nazi woman was a knockout though. <3 Also watched Mastermind and How to train your dragon, both of which I liked a lot, especially Mastermind. Sharp script.

Pretty rough day at work at the psychiatry ward. It's always pretty heart-breaking to see really young people (18) have big psychiatric troubles, like a psychosis in this particular case. And then having to medicate them against their will etc... It's always a real bleh feeling, even though I agree with the decision to do it. Though I certainly hope I will never stop feeling that feeling either.

Saw the new Spiderman. Some fun action moments but other than that it was pretty... meh. And completely predictable in every way whatsoever. Just feels so completely unnecessary at this point. I can't get into comic-gone-movies anymore. I just sit there thinking "why am I watching this again?"

In a certain sense, Dead Money is more enjoyable to replay if you are prone to being "stressed" in games. You know what to expect a bit more and can take your time a bit more. That said, it was one of fairly few instances in New Vegas where I really felt like I accomplished something on my first playthrough. There were parts of it that annoyed me (particularly some of the radio puzzles towards the end of it) but it had a lot of "impact", moreso than any of the other DLCs if you ask me.

Since I finished reading the Road, decided to re-watch the film version. It's pretty great as well, pretty faithful overall and what changes are there feel like they make sense given the difference in mediums. Some excellent post-apocalyptic imagery. Robert Duvall as the old guy they encounter along the way is a fantastic little performance. Something I really enjoy about the Road (both book and film) is that it really feels like the world is dying. Life is disappearing, the candle is burning out. There is no re-building, everything is just fading away. Bleak and effective.

Felt pretty lazy the other day after work, so I re-watched the Big Lebowski (while of course drinking a white russian). It's kinda funny... I don't think the film is *that* awesome or funny. It's just kind of... pleasant to watch, kinda like the Dude himself. Just good to relax to and sorta have a chuckle about it.

Been reading 'The Road' by Cormack McCarthy. Had seen the film which I really enjoyed so figured I'd read the book also. Took a while to get into the unusual writing style but once you get used to it, it's pretty effective for the bleak style the book is going for. Nearly finished and I've really enjoyed it. The short, sorta clipped writing style kinda reminds me of Ulysses' speech patterns in Lonesome Road (though Ulysses talks a whole lot more than the characters in the book of course).

Haven't played anything for a while but now I started up a game of Civ V with the new expansion. Not finished with the game but so far I'm very positive on the additions. Religion and espionage adds a welcome layer of extra managing on top on the game, "fattens" it a bit. Works quite well from what I can see so far. I enjoyed Civ V before but yep... Even better now!

I think the first few episodes of the second season felt a bit slow but it picked up a lot in the later episodes. Also, in having read the books, first season had that feel of "weee, it's so cool seeing the book come to life as a series!". When going into the second season, tha shine has worn off. But I guess that happens to all shows. But yeah, I would definitely still rate the second season as really good TV-entertainment. It makes me wonder though... if they decide to go on after the third season as well. I wonder how they will handle adapting Feast of Crows to the TV considering how different it is. Of it they'll mix that with whatever the book that came after was called (can't remember the name right now).

I was in the same boat prior to watching it, believe me. That said, it has gotten good reviews afaik so perhaps you'll enjoy it more.
