Nope. I won't complain. They are good. Top tier even. However, many builds will do much better with another Race. Building a Street Fighter? Well Humans and Fire Godlike look good for that. I'd say Moon GL too, but they can pull you out of being bloodied and ruin the bonus' from the class. Building a support or Tank? Plenty of good choices. Now, that said, I can't see myself making a Ranger and not using a Hearth Orlan. That combo is too good. Maybe even a ranged weapon built Beckoner using Rogue, Pally, etc plus summons to get that racial going. yeah i also really like them and im totally fine with what orlans can do. what i dont like is that noone else can do anything like it =) Every Race except human has at least one Defensive Option in the Subrace, but theres no offensive weapon-based option that comes even close to orlans. humans have to be below 50% hp and death godlike need their enemies to be below 25%, yet loose the head slot in exchange that is easily better then the 20% damage bonus even if it was permanent.

noone complaining about the fact hearth orlans are by far the best race for any weapon based damage dealer? considering headware choices for weapon users not a single godlike comes close to them (nature is still bonkers for caster tho). they are literally the only race with an offensive ability that works 100% of the time and can still wear hats

the brilliant inspiration is simply bonkers beyond compare. the only rational explaination is that "...they all know their path" was made on a build where brilliant inspiration did something else, then brilliant was changed to the current buff and the chant wasnt adjusted. in my opinion brilliant should just add a flat +1 powerlevel instead of the recource regeneration, then it would be fine. as long as any amount of recource regeneration stays, "...light of dawn", which is powerlevel 9, has the same exact aoe range and cost one more phrase simply doesnt make any sense. considering caster classes get ohne of every spell level returned, generating 1 flat per rank per cast on a 7 phrases ability is definitely worth a powerlevel 9 slot.

streetfighter is seriously one of the best tank options in the game. get a few upgrades on eders armor, equip a medium shield, aktivate the modal and hes pretty much indestructable even on potd. focus on defensive skills early, with a few offensive ones here and there. get persistant distraction from the rogue tree the moment it is available. at around lvl 10~12 you can just go full offense on every skillpoint. the only reason i looked for deflection bonuses later in the game was to get more riposte attacks. Warrior/Conquerer Stance is better then Defender/Guardian defense wise if you dont need the extra engages (theres lots of gear with bonus engages).

im almost through my first run and im really really glad eder isnt able to go streetfighter as a swashbuckler. the deeper i got into the game, the easier it got, enemies die left an right and barely manage to group around eder before they die. hes never below 50% hp and flanking is rare. solo: yes absolutely full party: hell no

Having played with cipher the whole time (lvl 18 right now) i must aggree that hes pretty weak for a long time. then he gets tier 6 and aoe knockdown nukes half the screen an goes up to tier 2... then he gets tier 8, gets time parasite, buffs himself with +250% action speed (im not kidding) and kills himself with scepter modal within seconds if you dont watch his health. cypher goes at least equal to the monk in powerlevel at that point How do you get 250% action speed from Time Parasite alone? it gives 50% per enemy hit for some reason

double chanter seems really redundant to me. but since you asked chanter side: take 2 phrases that differ from your pally/chant, get one long (5m cone) hard cc ability, dont take any buffs that the other chanter has fighter side: get charge so you can compensate for the other tank being immobile, into the fray and knock down to defend your backline. Conquerer Stance. Attributes: Perception > Dexterity > Con=Resolve > Int > Might this would be your general save everyones A** guy while the pally would be the basic run into as many enemies as possible guy
-
in that case u cant do anything wrong in keeping your tanks alive. backline is another matter once rogue types, fampyrs and other annoying enemys start ignoring your tanks. if ur pally got short time immortality on lay on hands, ur already set, otherwise look for invisibility and teleport/dash abilities and stun/paralyze to get out

Only a Few Atheletics Checks as far as i've seen. Since im putting at least 3 Athletics on everyone not really a problem. For Primary Skills 3 Acrobatics should be a given on everyone, i found 3 Stealth to pretty nice for positioning. Got up to 10 Stealth on my mainchar before i stopped because it really doesnt matter if she only stays invisible for 10 seconds once 10 enemys look straight at her. Mechanics max on another charakter (lockpicking is not stealing and will not aggro anyone). Everything else is pretty optional. Alchemy seems to be rather powerful if you like to micro or go solo. Secondary skills: Social Skills on main char. In Ordner of most Frequent to least: Diplomacy and Insight, Bluff, Intimidate. Can raise 2 different skills on every follower. Skill Assist: Efficient for 2 or 4 Points on assisting characters. Some Items Scale with Skillevel. So far i've seen: Religion (Xotis Lantern), Acrobatics (Some Heavy Armor), Metaphysics (Don't Remember the Item). Possible Distribution: Main Skills: Char 1: 3 Athletics, 10 Stealth Char 2: 3 Stealth, 3 Athletics, max Mechanics Char 3-5: 3 Stealth, 3 Athletics Fill Remaining Points as you see fit (all Acrobatics for the Lazy ones) Secondary Skills Mainchar: 50:50 Diplomacy, Insight, 1-4 Bluff or Intimidate Sidechar 1: Streetwise+Survival Sidechar 2: Religion+Metaphysics Sidechar 3: History+Bluff or Intimidate Sidechar 4: 2 Points in every Skill (upgrade to 4 later in the game, social skills first)

Fighter/Rogue is also pretty effektive. So far lvl 16 Eder, did that undead island @lvl15 on PotD, Eder is pretty much immortal sincethe start of the game. Setup: Medium Shield, Medium Armor, Sword. Any Medium Armor/Shield will do, as will basicly any weapon. I like sword for Penetration and Choices (there are about 2 billion unique swords in the game and 2 of any other weapon) Engagement: 1 Base, 1 Rogue (Persistant Distraction), 1 Shield, Optional: Fighter Engagement Passive (i respecced it around lvl 13~14, once i got persistant and realized that i had another +2 from various items) Stance: Conquerer (there are so many items with bonus engagement, no reason to not switch to conquerer at some point) Earlier in the game i used the Shield Mastery alot, around lvl 9 it turned into a situational ability and i havnt used it for 2,5 lvl now. Only toggle Sword Mastery if absolutely necessary as it reduces riposte attacks. This Setup has enough Defense to be the primary tank for a full party of 5 (using chanter as offtank) with Xoti as the only outside healing and no potions. Im really glad ive gone with Rogue/Fighter instead of some paladin build so hes actually doing really good damage.
