  1. You mean like the family that took her? Maybe I'll ask god to smite those bastards then. But then I probably wouldn't be in a position to get into heaven with an attitude like that. And don't worry Gabs, I'll load up a pic so huge that you'll have time to go cook a pot of ichiban noodles while it loads up on your dial up modem. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just trying to be nice. And who would take a puppy? Ever ask your parents about it?
  2. Aren't we all. I can still get teary eyed when I think back on the day we buried our last retriever, some five years ago, she had been my pet since I was six. Oh well, such is life. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just reminded me of my own retriever's age...any year now... God, I hate the inevitable.
  3. Don't worry about it. It's a unique name then and to be admired. I'm certain she either made some family out there outrageously happy, or is up, well fed, and laying at god's feet.
  4. A female puppy named Seamus?
  5. I vote we bomb them some more...ya know...to grease the political wheels. With napalm.
  6. But...I'm straight. :">
  7. Hmm...something wicked this way closes.
  8. Why won't it get here!? Pleeease! Just arrive already! I need something to take my mind off things, damn it all! Why, God! Why must you torment me so!? SADISTIC MOTHER F-... Oh....um...ahem. Hi. I've yet to get the game yet burn in hell, UPS but when I do, rest assured, you'll get an opinion which, seriously, I know none of you care about to help you all in making an informed Feh. Not bloody likely decision.
  9. I couldn't help it either. And I'd ask God why all the big things in life tend to turn out poorly when the little inconsequential things go perfectly.
  10. It all makes sense now. :D
  11. Not using the same words or mannerisms as someone else doesn't make one stupid.
  12. A bit, I guess, but not enough for it to be full fledged racism. That's not necessarily derogatory though...isn't racism negative?
  13. Nope. "Act" and "talk" are both physical things...it's voice inflection, what words are used, mannerisms, etc. The general stereotype is that Whites are more capable with words and act a certain way, while Blacks aren't and act in a different way. Not what I think, just what seems to pass as the primary stereotype.
  14. Hmm, isn't Operation Flashpoint's even more than that? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Never played that, and of course, I'm allowed to be wrong. Really wrong. I just remember something about a couple miles of visionsomethingorother in Far Cry.
  15. I didn't think Far Cry's draw distance was unlimited. More like just over a mile or so...
  16. Um. Back to the original question. (Takin' him a bit too seriously there, Llyr) Most likely, the first words out of my mouth would be either "Oh, son of a bitch..." or "Pleeease don't send me to hell! I know I wasn't a saint and didn't follow any of your religions, but really now, do I deserve eternal damnation for that?" Then, after the hellfire consumed me... Here's a branching question. What would your hell be like?
  17. All right, true. I was expecting that. Here's the question though, is this behavior limited to a minority, or is it a much further reaching problem? And another thing. Is "he acted and talked like a white person" really racism? Seems like more of a stereotype to me. With MTV and the popularity of rap/hip hop, I'm not really surprised though.
  18. Good. Means I can hold off on upgrading for DX 10 for that much longer.
  19. From?
  20. yes, he dose not relay on his intelligence... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you are going to insult me learn how to spell, it's rely, not realy. Oh and I don't care what you think dark one, God loves you anyway though. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Anybody ever told you you're an ediot? Exhibit A: <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, but I also mentioned exceptions. This 9-year-old being an excellent example. "
  21. Both true enough points. I actually meant "I would blame" as in "Were I someone on that other side" meaning, the side that blames. (I know it's not the whole side, but some of the more vocal people) And it is blaming. Yes, I agree with both of you on the need to address this more fully, but I.........I fail to see subtle and insidious racism. A lot of what could be considered that probably isn't...it's just being looked at in a certain light to fan old flames.
  22. No need for shame, just an active conversation (apart from certain fundamental issues "). You may think it is unfair to be targeted for benefiting from the slave trade, but what about those who are on the other side of the equation. I guess I'm trying to get you to look at the issue from another point of view. What about those descendants of the slaves / etc? Not just their current situations, either, but what about the lost potential lives they may have had? The human "opportunity cost" of the slave trade, if you will. There is a big gap between these two peoples' points of view. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well yes, certainly I would see it a bit...all right, a lot...differently were I on the other side. I'd be seeking something or someone to blame for my current plight...that doesn't make it right. Never said that there wasn't good reason behind it, but it just shouldn't be acceptable to blame an entire race for its actions in the past.
