Dueling feat or Double Weapon feat?
Zach Morris replied to Zach Morris's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I think that is an excellent idea! Another thing they could do is change lines in the game later on after you have mastered the staff saber. They should give you more fear/respect depending if you went ls or ds. -
I did a poll to (hopefully) put an end to this beautiful topic. Even though it was good times.
-
I don't know this is a tough one. I haven't decided my vote yet.
-
Its been said you meet him underground by a game informer magazine. So that rules out Citadel Station. I'm wondering what planet do you guys think you first meet Sion on. I'm guessing Peragus because you first start out in that area and I think since there are three sith lords in this game they will have to introduce them earlier.

This is a fun thread. I'm really enjoying it. What do you think of a new poll asking either 1. Do you think EU continuity is strong enough to hold onto 2. Is EU weak by contradictions and doesn't really matter.

Dueling feat or Double Weapon feat?
Zach Morris replied to Zach Morris's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I think they made maul use double bladed in the movies because they knew he would be fighting two people at once. Don't you think single bladed is more beneficial for consulars and double more suited for guardians? -
This is an interesting post. It's fun to see how topics change. But I like it. This post is where the action is at.
-
I think KOTOR had an emphasis on the Guardian. I think that class was the best. Does that mean now that TSL will make Consular the best class now?
-
If you follow that link to gamespot they spell a planet Duxon. What is Duxon?
-
Right, that's why they asked the devs if the game would have references and elements of the EU...considering it is the EU already right? Believe whatever you want; the Vong invaded the galaxy, the Force is something that can be forgotten or ripped from someone, the Republic is 25K years old, the Sith were an Empire-like military, there's such a place as the Valley of the Jedi where the Force can be injected into people like adrenalin, Luke chose Yavin to build his Academy, there have been 300 clones of multiple villains, planets can be moved with repulsor lifts, and no one can think outside the box and make anything their own because everything in the EU is established canon that can't be changed for any reason whatsoever, oh yeah Boba Fett is also alive and well after his digestive adventure. There's hardly any point in continuing to debate something like this, according to you you're right and there's no possibility for any other point of view. Like I said I'm sorry you don't like Korriban in KotOR, live with it or don't, the choice is yours. When Feb rolls around the corner I very much will enjoy continuing to explore KotOR's Korriban, frankly I'm estatic it is one of the two returning worlds from the original, as Korriban was my favorite. And in case you're wondering I also liked the look of the Valley in JA, my fave level in that game, but I like variety. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That was intelligent, well thought out post. I agree. And I think everyone else would have to agree with that.
-
Kotor's vision of Korriban is right. Novels, comics, and JA were wrong.
-
Did the original d20 rules make the battles more interesting?
-
Could they really do the Korriban from Jedi Academy with the KOTOR engine? I don't think they could do it. That is one reason why it is different. Also if it were exactly the same as in Jedi Academy how would there be any exploration? If you played JA you would know how KOTOR would be layed out as well. I like to have new maps to explore.

Can KOTOR 2 redefine the RPG genre?
Zach Morris replied to Craftsman's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I don't think TSL will redefine the genre. I do think that it will improve every aspect of KOTOR making it a better game. I don't really want them to redefine anything. I liked KOTOR's style very much. No need to change it, just improve it. Obsidian's next game could redefine. -
oh. You don't think the Darkside could leave an aura behind though?
-
Level 20 would still work in TSL. Even though there are new force powers in the game you should get plenty to work with for several reasons. 1. You start as a jedi. More levels giving you force powers. 2. The prestige classes have a chance to give you even more force powers. Like maybe a Jedi master getting to pick 2 force powers every level instead of one. 3. In the latest GI magazine it is said that some force powers are learned not from leveling up but after you learn them by doing a something (force crush was the example) So I think with the 20 level cap you should still get plenty of force powers to play with. Plus I don't like the fact of my characters having 1000 hit points if they are like level 40. What is this a final fantasy game?
-
But maybe that character already chose to go Darkside. What if it said something else if he were lightside? You don't know what choices the character made before the screen. I don't think you will have to be tainted if you want to go LS.
-
I've got an older PC so I'm going 1024 x 768. If this game is buggy like KOTOR was I might have to do 800 x 600 until some patches are released. Also I don't know much about resolutions so if I'm wrong on something tear me up.
-
I think it is interesting part about being tainted. I think it means you were attacked after you chose to go darkside. Maybe the character in that pic is about to be a prestige class?
-
I didn't know much about KOTOR when I played through it first. All I knew is that I liked Jedi Outcast and Academy and I like RPGs. When I played KOTOR I didn't know about star wars so seeing Manaan or any other planet didn't really "surprise" me. I don't think that matters if I know what planets are in TSL before. I still don't know what is going to happen.

Why did Tulak Hord have a mask that would protect him from fire. What would that really protect him from? Flamethrowers? What real enemy of his would use flame? Why didn't he have a mask that protected him from lightning? That would be much more handy considering any Dark Jedi or Sith that would attack him.

But in the Nov. issue of Game Informer there is a picture of a republic officer talking (actual dialogue that is not in parenthesis). Also another pic of Darth Sion talking in the green. Also a picture of Kreia talking in green. And a last pic of HK-50 talking in the green.
-
I thought it was Darth Scion and his buddy Darth Nihilus, chasing down Darth Reven.
-
There's also revan, but I don't think she will be a boss. The female might be in charge of all of them because we don't know much about her. But also a dev said that the number of Sith Varies depending on what happens. So I don't know.

I find your lack of face disturbing!
Zach Morris replied to Master Cypher's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
In the Nov. Issue of Game Informer they said that they took back the fact that you could use the old faces from KOTOR in TSL. Now there are just new faces to choose for your PC. But I think they said thirty to choose from. They also said in that article that NPC's won't all look the same like in KOTOR.
