  1. Sounds like your friend isn't a friend at all. You should come to the dark side like me and only have acquaintances who you see at your place of work or in my case school. It's amazing when you don't have to deal with anyone's crap but your own and you can just have a friendly no strings semi-superficial friendship with someone. You know them well enough to where they could potentially help you out in a jam but its not like they'd come to you during a messy divorce; its really the way god intended. Though honestly I am enjoying my late night talks with my gym (last) friend, although last time I in no subtle words said his mom thought he was a failure but he kind of is so I can't be held accountable for reality.
  2. Burpees are a good all around exercise and you can customize it into an entire full body workout. My second recommendation though I'm hesitant to say is a chin up bar. I quickly read some reviews and it seems like most of the ones out there are shoddily built, fit a narrow range of door frames and potentially dangerous when they malfunction. I have a pull up bar which is fantastic but its not really meant to be used for chin ups. I do so anyways but its uncomfortable and constricting. Either way they are really cheap and provide a great exercise. The chin up bar is superior in that it places you outside of the door frame so you have plenty of space to move whereas the pull up bar your wedged right in there. But back to burpees you'll want to youtube it and maybe go to bodybuilding.com and see variations on it but essentially you start standing up, go into a squat position, which then turns into a "sprawl" which puts you into the push up position, do a push up, crouch up back into a squat position and jump. Rinse and repeat. A deceptively simple exercise but deadly exhausting after about 20. I used to do a variation where I'd hold 10 pound weights the entire time but instead of jumping at the end I would do over head press but really you can add just about any exercise or multiple ones onto it. Very under utilized.
  3. Gametrailers episode tonight will focus on mass effect 2. I'm pretty stoked. something about towels and hand moisturizer, etc.
  4. Cool. Just saying, I mean I'm going to trust doctors and the majority of western medicine who have no vested interest besides informing instead of a tv/internet ad trying to sell you something using vague half truths and things that sound scientific but have no real basis in reality. From http://www.latimes.com/features/health/la-...0,7913944.story "The bottom line: Sweat does contain trace amounts of toxins, says Dr. Dee Anna Glaser, a professor of dermatology at St. Louis University and founding member of the International Hyperhidrosis Society, a medical group dedicated to the study and treatment of heavy sweating. But, Glaser, adds, in the big picture, sweat has only one function: Cooling you down when you overheat. "Sweating for the sake of sweating has no benefits," she says. "Sweating heavily is not going to release a lot of toxins." In fact, Glaser says, heavy sweating can impair your body's natural detoxification system. As she explains, the liver and kidneys -- not the sweat glands -- are the organs we count on to filter toxins from our blood. If you don't drink enough water to compensate for a good sweat, dehydration could stress the kidneys and keep them from doing their job. "If you're not careful, heavy sweating can be a bad thing," she says."
  5. There is no such thing as "toxins" in your body. Of course you have various substances that can be toxic like say your appendix bursts or your a drug user but for the most part these "elusive" toxins that everyone is always talking about simply don't exist in your body. It's really just a herbal marketing ploy for stupid people who want to pretend like they are sick so they go out and buy expensive products that do absolutely nothing. You have kidneys and a liver for a reason.
  6. I had an odd encounter tonight....I almost had to do a surprise turn around kneeling crotch strike on an unknown attacker who ended up being a supposed UFC fighter. I was walking to my car which happened to be in a dark and ominous back alley after my tax class when someone started walking behind me and got closer and closer until he was pretty much on my heels. He turned out to be a cool dude but still it was really weird becuase he kept mentioning how dangerous it is to walk at night in las vegas especially around these particular parts but he kept saying it, but I suppose that was part of his pitch to get my to join his gym. Which was kind of a compliment becuase he could tell I lift and that I was pretty awesome.
  7. I think a new design would be welcome as well, however I'd rather they take the blue out entirely and have various degrees of black and super dark grey. And I'm not joking.
  8. i dont think america really has unions in the same capacity or power as europe does. I don't know what unions are like in Europe (or in America for that matter) but we do have them though they aren't prevalent in every industry, which from what I hear is a good thing. Unions had a purpose at one time and there's still a few places where they can be used but for the most part they (unjustly) inflate salary, benefits, etc exponentially increasing the cost of labor for companies. This was one of the bigger issues with Ford. Yeah Ford sucks either way but its pretty tough to compete when your paying out labor costs that are higher than your competitors.
  9. Well then, we can all rejoice that you work in video games (right?) and not legislation.
  10. I doubt EA would go under by keeping the 1500 but if cutting employees is what they have to do its what they have to do. Not really understanding the perspective of people either, they are cutting these jobs now, not last year which probably means they were doing them a solid. Making a profit isn't evil either unless of course you're executing a nefarious scheme like the oil companies.
  11. Going with Wals on this one. You never, ever, take on a teacher, there is just no outcome in which you "win." It doesn't matter who is right or wrong when you are in the classroom because school is like the military, if you follow orders you'll do great and if you break orders and go outside of the mold you are going to get pounded (against your will, sexually). Which honestly isn't a bad thing. Especially at the community college level, you are most likely dealing with someone who isn't very good at their craft (and likely just being an idiot in general) becuase if they were any good they would be out making actual money or at a university where they would still make substantially more. No offense to hurlshot, he's a cool dude.
  12. Think this deserves a bump. Demo is a solid hour of fun. Not going to pay 20+ dollars for the full version but a pretty neat idea and good execution.
  13. I feel your pain Calax, too many times I have been forced to fabricate stories, ideals, enthusiasm, and worst of all pity. Luckily that's in the past, since dropping community and going to university I haven't had anything like that. Unfortunately schools a lot harder now. In fact it's really freakin hard now, by far the hardest semester ever and next doesn't look any easier. Luckily no more tax, if I pass that is.
  14. I thought I was the only resident mma fan. It was a great fight indeed. Rogers gave Fedor a run for his money which I expected but I wasn't surprised when he didn't pull the upset, he's still too green and hasn't really fought anyone of note except Arlovski and well Arlovski isn't exactly a top competitor (though he did look really good vs fedor before being brutally knocked out). Plus Rogers is pretty dumb, he said in an interview that Fedor's stand up was weak which is completely ridiculous. Guess he got to see first hand how weak it was.
  15. You could do that thing where you wear nothing but an apron and you show up in the doorway with a hot plate and a cold beverage. But then you find out he already did the deed 5 minutes prior, alone....and then the night is ruined. :'(
  16. I'm hoping Chloe dies from neurosyphilis or some sort of impalement by a jagged steel birder or really anything because she is such a horrible character. Eli is too much of a virginia. Telford needs to get hit by a truck. Ronald (the black guy) needs to cool down on trying to be such a hard ass and maybe get some more screen time. And there needs to be more people getting flesh wounds, aliens, and just general malarkey.
  17. It's called Dragon Age: Origins for a reason. I'm pretty sure they confirmed super early that they were going to make more that builds on your characters origin story.
  18. Oh great, wals drunk typing again. Can't even understand what your talking about you damn hooligan learn to read.
  19. yeah the choice between waiting around for 5 minutes doing nothing, continuing with low health only to have to reload and or leaving the area to go heal. Great game pacing choices.
  20. Earth shall be named Googlearth - and there will be peace.. The proud people of Goomerica, Gurope, Gasia, even the South Goole, in fact every Googlean on Googlearth, will be happy.. I think I would like this future.. gasia sounds like gay-sia lol
  21. Not really. Morrigan and Alistair are very funny as they constantly snark at one another. Morrigan and Leliana
  22. We could have had a delightfully awkward and creepy dragon age meet up. You've ruined that now. :'(
  23. I concur however I suggest any subsequent threads actually be about the game quality/features/story/etc...instead of this abortion.
  24. I'm eating a kind of traditional mexican dish of pork simmered with roasted tomatillos and red onion with cilantro on top. A little sour so naturally cut it with sugar but I'm a man with a penchant for destruction so I heaped on more sugar and then cut the sweetness with tobasco. And then its all sopped up with a flour tortilla. It's pretty freakin heavenly. I think each week I will bastardize a cuisine and maybe post the results, though I doubt it becuase its pretty mundane and stupid and I'm sure most people have a pavlovian response to my posts where they go into a cat-atonic state and then wake up some minutes later watching free streaming adult video having no idea how they arrived there. It happens to me all the time. Now I have to study for my management info systems exam but I don't wanna.
  25. Alpha Cat Studios your welcome
