Um... d20 has difficulty increment based on distance for range weapons. Such as if the "friend" was using a rifle with a range increment of 100 meters. From Point Blank range to 100 meters there is no modifier. At 101 to 200 meters he would have a -2 to hit, at 201 to 300 meters he would have a -4 to hit. It goes up to a maximum of 10 range increments for a -20 to hit. Also, in some d20 varients, you can do called shots. You ned to read the Torn Asunder supplement. Very graphic and very detailed about critical hits and called shots. There are variant rules about Armor doesn't increase AC but gives Damage Reduction. Star Wars d20 uses this rule and it is also listed in Unearthed Arcana from WotC. Also there rules for missed shots and missed grenades spalsh if you choose to use them. It all depends on how detailed you want the combat to be.

So, how is not Atari's fault in the state that ToEE was released?

Malhavoc Press is the most kickarse third party d20 System designers who is lead by the main guy himself, Monte Cook. There are also the Game Mechanics who have some kickin' d20 Modern material. Green Ronin is also good with their Freeport line and the True20 rules variant. Necromancer Games are good if you want to play modules that have that old school feel using the new 3.5e rules system and Sword and Sorcery has one of the most kickarse and detailed third party campaign setting, the Scarred Lands.

I think they did a good job, at least of what I have seen, in keeping the feel and look of the original movies.

You aren't fooling anyone, Epiphany, but nice try. As for the Blu-Ray and HD DVD formats I don't particularly care. All the movies I buy are on DVD so I have no reason to get a player. As for the PS3, if it has games I want to play I will buy it. If not, then I won't. It doesn't matter what the system specs are for a disc player, a recording medium, or a console/computer. If it doesn't have what I want in content then it is irrelevant. If it does, but I can get the same cheaper on something else, then it is irrelevant. If it has something that I want, and available nowhere else, then I consider buying it. Nothing else matters. If you were as smart as you think you are you would have realize that by now.

Who cares if X Box 360 has superior tech if it doesn't have games I want to play on it. The same goes for the Playstation 3. Also I have no real need to have a HD DVD player or Blu Ray. When it comes to consoles, only the games matter. If the games are lame then the tech behind it is worthless.

Also what is the big whoop about 5 gig? What are the bandwidth differences, access speed times, digital clarity, and whatnot? If we are going by gig alone my 5 year old 80 gig hard drive is superior to both.
