I didn't like th old WEG d6 system. d20 I far better than that system and just as easy to learn.
-
I prefer Darwins World.

I am almost afraid to ask. No, that is incorrect. I am very afraid to ask.

Okay, you tried to run a next gen game on a 2 generation old video card? HAHAHAHAHA! I have to question one's intelligence if a person does that. First off this game is built around Pixel Shader 2.0 while our video card can handle only 1.1. Man, I hope you aren't planning to get NWN 2 with that card. HAHAHAHAHA!

Depends if they make it classless or not.

Not as good as Batman Begins, not as bad as X Men 1, and certainly no Spider Man 2. Overall an enjoyable movie that pays homage to the original. Routh did a good job of channelling Reeve but failed to make the character his own. Two and a half stars out of four.

Players and enemies competing on the same terms

That is like saying you can only interpret a poem in one way or divulge only one meaning from a piece of prose. -
I found Attacks of Opportunity pretty easy to figure out.

I have always treated the NPCs equal to the PCs. I don't bend the rules for the PCs nor the NPCs. -
Then most of the players you have had were being completely whiny and unreasonable. In my experience the players I have had completely accepted what I were allow and not allow in my campaigns. Also the d20 System does have a firm foundation. Its called the System Reference Document. You can't get more firm of foundation which all d20 System games pretty much refer to in game mechanics. It seems that you do have whiny players in your game, power gaming munchkins you will whine to the point that you give in. Thank god I have had more mature players than that.

All the rules of the game are in the core book (In the prime 3 for DnD). Everything else is OPTIONAL. You do know what OPTIONAL means, right Jediphile? All you need to run d20 Modern is the d20 Modern core book. All yoou need to run Dungeons and Dragons are the DMG, PHB, and MM. All you need to run Spycraft d20 is the Spycraft core book. All you need to run Star Wars d20 is the Star Wars d20 core book. All the rules of the game that one needs to play are in the core book. All other books are OPTIONAL. O-P-T-I-O-N-A-L! In case you need to spelled out for you. Sheesh.
-
The consequence is the DM gets rid of a whiny player and the player finds a group more to his or her liking. It looks like a win win situation to me.
-
Actually the accents will merge and you would have a more Maine/Bostonian accent.
-
The problem it seems is that you have very whiny players. At the start of a campaign I lay out the rules, the classes, and the whatnot right at the beginning of the campaign. I do not change those rules, classes, and whatnot throughout the campaign for any reason in order to maintain consistancy. If a player doesn't like them or if he wants to add in a class, tough. If he doesn't like it then he can go to a different group. Plain and simple. When I started a new d20 Campaign I write up a Player Primer. It states all the rules changes, available classes for progression, list of feats that are available, spells and psionics (if used) that will be in or not. I don't let my players bring me every little dragon article or whine about every miniscule rule that I changed. If they did I would show them the door. The GM is not suppose to be the bad guy but he isn't suppose to be a spineless jellyfish. It is your setting, it is your game, you are the GM and you set the rules. The d20 System, in all its glory, is set up to give a person options in how to run his or her campaign. The freedom in making changes. It seems to me that you, as a GM, are player-whipped. Sad, just sad.

Watch a lot of British television: Doctor Who, Red Dwarf, Are You Being Served. Emulate the speech paterns of the primary characters at all times. It will cure you right away.

What do you want in the NWN2 C.E ?

Who voted for the "Posters featuring scantily clad Illithids" option? Illithids are asexual athromorphic amphibeous aberrations. -
I don't think that any news site nowadays can be considered reliable. All of it is biased in one form or another, however some is worse than others. Anything that uses religion as a justification for their news or is pro-religious I dismiss right out. Most terrible things that mankind does is because of religion.

I have ran very realistic d20 campaigns and I have ran very cinematic d20 campaigns. Just because a rule is there does not mean you have to use it or that you cannot make a house rule that overrides the base rule. Such as in my d20 Modern campaigns I have armor use Defense/Damage Reduction combination. I also use the Wound/Vitality system than the base hit point system. If you don't want a simplistic and unrealistic campaign then modify the rules as you see fit. Millions do. However, none of them are necessary. Only the primary book for Star Wars is necessary, such as d20 Modern, though Dungeons and Dragons has 3 primary books. WRONG. The DM/GM determines on what classes, rules, equipment, and etc. that are in his or game. Not a single primary rule book or supplementary book can override that. It is the DM/GM that determines the balance in his or her game. I have made my own classes that balanced the core classes well, as well as advance and prestige classes. I sugest actually reading and knowing the d20 System before posting such nonsense again. Your truth is a lie. Deal with it.

It depends on what type of campaign you want to run. If you want to run Space Opera, get star Wars. If you want to play modern/near future get d20 Modern. If you want to play fantasy get Dungeons and Dragons. Each rules interpretation of the d20 System in those sets are self contained so you don't need any DnD book to run a d0 Modern campaign, or a Star Wars campaign. You on't need a "gazillion" supplementary rule books. Hell, for d20 Modern or Star Wars d20 you just need one. For DnD you just need 3. Stop making up lies, Jediphile.
-
I would use a classless point base system centered around the d20 Modern interpretation of the d20 System rules.
-
No kidding. I would have to ban myself.
-
Don't worry, Grommie. They will never make me a mod. REALLY!

TINA TURNER!

There is more to the d20 System than Dungeons and Dragons.
