You mean formulaic story driven games. If you played one FF you have played them all.

ATTN Obsidian: Forum Shut Down
Judge Hades replied to Zero327's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Bioware has improved a small margin since NWN, but they have yet made anything on par that Baldur's Gate. As for Fallout being number one, it still is. It is the perfect balance in rules system, difficulty, and story. Only way for Obsidian to get close to topping it will be making their own original IP. -

See, when I get a new PC game I am expecting bugs. I also do a little research before I buy the game. I try to find out what engine the game is using for possible glitches with my hardware. Common folks, it is pretty damn easy to figure out that the base engine of KotOR 2 had past issues with ATI cards. If you weren't expecting problems then you are an idiot. What matters most is not how little or how many bugs the game has on release. At least not for me. Only thing that matters to me is how well the game is supported after it is released with patches. That is one of the reasons why I do not play console games. You can't patch a console game. However a developer can only support their game if the publisher lets them support it. It looks like LA isn't letting Obsidian to do so. Now, I have been on these forums a good long time and on the Black isle forums before that. I gotten to know Feargus, Chris A, and other members well enough to know they do not go out of their way to make crappy games. They do the best they can with the time they have. That is the main thing here. TIME. Lucas Arts had unrealistic expectations about the release of KotOR 2 and for what is it worth Obsidian did their best to fulfill this obligation. Lucas Arts got their game. LA only needs to allow Obsidian to fully support their game with not only Technical patch fixes but also Content fixes. I know that certain people of Obsidian want to do a full content restore patch. The desire is there and only needs the publisher's support. Without Lucas Arts support however, Obsidian can't do a thing. After all, it was Lucas Arts job to QA the game. They dropped the ball. -
How is this game fantastic? These are the reasons why this game is horrid. 1: Lame Arse graphics. 2: Horrid control interface. 3: No freaking character creation 4: Impossible combat due to the interface. 5: Boring voice actors. 6: Lame music 7: And for what story I did get out of it for the length I played was pretty damn bad.

And Lucas Arts published the game knowqing it had significant bugs. So which is worse, the developer who did their best in a limited timeframe or the publisher who doesn't give a crap except for holiday sales. Yes, they signed on with Lucas Arts. If Obsidian is smart they won't do a KotOR 3 and intelligent people will not buy future Lucas Arts games. My opinion matters as much as yours, but as the old story goes it takes two to tango but morons like you think it is all Obsidian's fault when Lucas Arts is equal to blame and if LA actually let Obsidian finish the game we wouldn't be in this mess. As I said, it takes two to tango. Obsidian is only the developer and not the publisher. The Publisher, Lucas Arts, wanted the game out as quickly as possible and due to contractual reasons Obsidian had to comply. Am I saying that Obsidian is innocent, no. But Lucas Arts is equal to blame if not moreso than Obsidian. There is no peace, only passion. -
The patch will never come out!

Well, that's the big question....... if the devs listens to their conscience and do what's right they will get LS points. But if they only think about profit and the fact that they will not make any money on this patch, and then decide that they will only fix some bugs they will get DS points......... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They can only do what LucasArts allows them to do. -

I wasn't particularly impressed by any of them. -
Prequels suck and should not even be considered. In good writing a story needs to progress, not regress and prequels and flashbacks are a regression and not progression. I perfer Obsidian not do KotOR 3 at all because it seemed that Lucas Arts screwed Obsidian over on the development time of KotOR 2 and they shouldn't have any future dealings with a publsher like that. A game is done when it is done, not when the publisher wants it out rushed for Christmas.

PC version: why performance so poor?
Judge Hades replied to PinkJedi's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Sure, if they have a 4 to 6 year development time. -
I am considiering to go to this movie. I rarely go to movies and I haven't read the comic book. I do like the style of how they present the movie however and I am curious how Elijah Wood does in this. The only movies I seen that actor in he was playing characters that were either fighting alien invaders or had a nasty rash due to a ring of some sort.

Not to mention the complications, if they had gotten a couple of kids together... :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You might be a Redneck Jedi if...

Man, some people have no freaking patience. HERE IS A FREAKING CLUE! Obsidian has finished the patch. It is done and over with. IT IS OUT OF THEIR FREAKING HANDS SO STOP YELLING AT OBSIDIAN! Lucas Arts has the patch now and they arre doing QA on it. IF YOU FREAK MONKEYS PAID ATTENTION TO WHEN THE DEVELOPERS POST HERE YOU WOULD KNOW THAT! If you are so impatient about getting the patch stop badging Obsidian about it and go after Lucas Arts. They are the one's holding it up. Can't people grow a clue at least once? -
Have you taken your game back yet?

Don't know. Never played Counter Strike, or have a particular idea what it is, nor have I been to their forums. -
I just like to know where the dips**t here thought it belong in the news tip forum instead of the techinical support forum. Do people like this understand what News Tip even means?
