I think that KotOR 2 might be the last Lucas Arts game I will own. -

I never heard of Mistmare either. -
Is the HUD in this game just really big?
Judge Hades replied to Ace Savoron's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I had no problems with the HUD. How is it blocking the action any way. Its not like its blocking the center action with a huge pic of Waldo or something. -

NWN 2 News Exclusive Interview with Ferret!
Judge Hades replied to Rhomal's topic in Computer and Console
I don't think 2 years is enough time for Obsidian to do what they want to do with NWN 2. 2 1/2 to 3 years would be more like it. -
The controls are piss poor. Avoid the game and the demo.

I agree, but I fail to see how this is Obsidian's fault. They made the game given the timeframe that Lucas Arts assigned to the game, knowing that it would be impossible to keep and knowing that the game was unfinished published it anyway. Again, how is this Obsidian's fault? Lucas Arts is the publisher. Lucas Arts sets the deadlines. Lucas Arts released the game. Lucas Arts did the QA. Obsidian simply developed the game as ordered and Lucas Arts got what they wanted. I am not in favor of an unfinished product and you are correct that it doesn't matter how much time they had to develope the game. It matters only when the game is released to the public and guess what dipstick: THAT WAS LUCAS ARTS' CALL NOT OBSIDIAN'S! Apples and oranges, my man. It is far more involved in making a game than making a movie. I have worked on game modding with NWN and have working on screenplays. The writing alone is easier in the movie than the game. It would be far more involved to get an engine to work than work a blue screen. I plan on doing that because of Episode 1 and the lame arse changes he did to the original movies. I have no interest in any future movies of old Georgie boy. Yes, you were, but go after the ones responsible. Lucas Arts. They have all the rights. The hold all the keys. They control the horizontal. The control the vertical. They control future support for KotOR 2 and KotOR 3. Lucas Arts set the time table. Lucas Arts set the release date. Lucas Arts controls the patches. WHAT THE HELL CAN OBSIDIAN DO ABOUT IT!?!?!? Nothing, except never do business with them again, which I hope they don't. -
NWN 2 News Exclusive Interview with Ferret!

That is their poor choice of design to begin with. I like to know what designer over at Bioware thought to make this game a one character in the first place. Obviously they never played DnD. -

You can get rid of some of the HUD in the the options area. -
How would you have dealt with the end?
Judge Hades replied to ShadowPaladin V1.0's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Actually I am kind of confused how Handmaiden and Kreia gets to Telos in the first place. From what I saw at the space port there was only the Ebon Hawk parked there. Anyway, in the final area I would pretty much set it up as SP describes. This is between the Exile and Kreia. The droids would come along but everyone else should stay out of the fray. Besides someone needs to carry one the teachings of the Exile. As a parting gift Bao Dur gives Exile his remote before he or she leaves and tells the Exile and the remote how to do the whole planet crunching thingie at the end. T3 plugs in the controls and flies the ship. Now, Hanharr and Mira subplot needs to be resolved so while the Ebon Hawk is off doing what it does Hanharr and a group of slavers/bounty hunters descends on Mira and the crew while they are distracted by the Exiles departure. Permie deaths at this point is allowable and if Mira dies Hanharr gets his revenge and goes to malachor. Obviously this wil have an effect on what Kriea says about them. -
Let them at least get pics out of NWN 2 before New Jersey opens up.

In KotOR 1 the HUD size was static. No matter what size of resolution you had in KotOR 1 they take up the same pixels. In KotOR 2 the HUD scales to resolution size. -

NWN 2 News Exclusive Interview with Ferret!

With all that will be going into it like the complete revamping of the tool system, user interface and the graphics engine along with a fully developed story with multiple henchmen/party members? 18 months seem to be to short of a time. Given the base they have I would say 30 months to get everything done right. -
NWN 2 News Exclusive Interview with Ferret!
Judge Hades replied to Rhomal's topic in Computer and Console
First, I am not pissed off. If that is how I am coming across I apologize. I do however have a good dose of skepticism. Given that Obsidian had only a year with KotOR 2 and the resulting mess that game is, counting only the major content holes and not the game's technical issues then tackling NWN 2 which is far more involved game engine wise due to its tools system and broader application in CRPG design with only an addition year increase of development time I think my skepticism is fairly well founded. Yes, let them get the job done, but if they are going to make statements about their game, especially in terms of quality, I would like to see some evidence of that so I can judge for myself. I use to take what developers say wholecloth. Now I know better. -
I just uninstalled KotOR II from my PC

NWN 2 News Exclusive Interview with Ferret!
Judge Hades replied to Rhomal's topic in Computer and Console
As a consumer, Morgoth, yes I am. If I am going to spend $50 to $60 on something I expect to get my money's worth. I also expect honesty from the companies I patron. One thing I respect Obsidian for is that they pretty much came clean with KotOR 2 after its release. How long did it take Bioware to come clean about the horridness that was the NWN OC? A few years. All I am saying is that if Bioware could do this in a game that was in development for 3 to 5 years when Obsidian has 1 1/2 to 2 years, engine coding aside, what makes them so certain that they can. Its called having a healthy dose of skepticism. -

Right on, Alanschu. Sure you would have your principles intact but you would be out of business and broke within a week, Caelib. That makes real good sense. Yessiree! -
Man, I have to watch this new series. I was a fan of Doctor Who before I was born. :D

NWN 2 News Exclusive Interview with Ferret!
Judge Hades replied to Rhomal's topic in Computer and Console
Bioware promised us a good Single Player campaign out of NWN1 which turned out to be abysmally average. Ferret, not to be overly negative on this but lets see some evidence. I mean I trust Obsidian to do their best possible job on the game but fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, well you know the rest. If Bioware couldn't do it why do you think you can? -
Dammit. Hey, save the show as a .WMV file and e-mail it to me, SP. PLEASE!
-
Dammit, I want to see the New Doctor Who series myself.
