What the **** is wrong with people. Who in their right mind would think that microtransactions for those kits is okay for a singleplayer game. It feels like these companies are telling me that they don't want my money. Whoever is responsible for putting such **** in the game should be fired immediately and shot into space as a warning for the rest of these idiot executive producers / marketing people. Same goes for smartphone apps, I'm playing the game on my computer, I don't want to be poked about some app during the game. I'm glad I didn't purchase the game, now I will wait until it's 5-10 euros on Steam and then I might get it, or if they start releasing DLCs I'll wait even longer.

Maybe late next year or even later.

Mostly just bought bunch of adventure and indie games. Seems like the bigger games are stuck in the 14-16 euros range for eternity and Divinity is still at 20 euros...

It's Paradox, they concentrate on one game at a time. They just released Stellaris and Hearts of Iron 4 and have just started to focus on Tyranny. I would imagine their marketing should increase gradually. Their marketing for Stellaris etc. has been showing it off on streams and having streamers play the game and since this game actually has a plot they can't do that. Going to be interesting/scary to see how they are going to go around that with their limited marketing budget.

Chris looks really unhealthy Also any idea if the Prey game is cRPG or is it just straight up shooter?

Overwatch, my cousin lured me into buying this game. Damn him.

No, I don't believe it was out. It isn't easy to change during development, but it's been done. It's hard to say because we don't have a definitive date for this project's beginning afaik. I know Star Citizen has done it (they've also been converting their version of CryEngine to entirely 64bit), but that's a huge difference in resources for Obsidian compared to Cloud Imperium. Duke Nukem Forever changed engines like what, 4 or 5 times? They did and it took them like 10 years to actually finish the game? If you have tight budget and schedule you just can't afford "setbacks" like switching engine in the middle of the development phase. Very early on into development, sure, but later on not really.

Was Unity 5 even out when they started working on the game? I would imagine changing engine version mid development isn't all that easy.

Bah, I missed the 4th writer on the team called Robert... so Robert Lee?

41 hours into Stellaris... I did not realize you could integrate your vassals into your empire at the beginning and hence my empire grew a bit too slow in the beginning. Should be able to finish my playthrough next week. After a great start the game did get kinda boring and repeative, but that was to be expected since it's Paradox and they will add tons of content later on.

Also there's a new blog post up at https://blog.tyrannygame.com/

What is more interesting is that he kinda confirmed that Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky are working on some new property. Bloodlines 2 on Unreal Engine?

In EU4 and CK2 you can catch up to those armies easier though. In Stellaris even you pop into the same system they might still warp out of the before your fleet reaches them and the only thing missing is the music from Benny Hill Show when you chase those fleets across the galaxy.
-
Enjoying Stellaris, but man it's goddamn annoying to try to chase down enemy fleets. They just keep evading me for eternity. Out of the 10 fleets the alliance had, I managed to take down fully 2 or 3. Rest just kept jumping from place to place. Luckily though they did not engage and attack my spaceports, or otherwise I would have screwed. Can't be everywhere all the time

Stellaris, I've clocked about 10 hours so far, had few wars. One less succesful (some ***hat stole the planets right under me and for some reason I could not transport my ground troops to the planet...) and one very succesfull. I only have one ally, but both of us are quite large, yet I'm afraid that all the ganging up by AI's will be end of my space empire. There is one very weak Alliance that I'm going to try and pick apart tomorrow but other than that I'll have to build up my fleet a lot to be able to beat the "big boys". So far the game has been everything I've hoped for, finally the game that dethrones Master of Orion 2.

Shadow of Mordor. I do enjoy it, but killing orcs get a bit boring after a while. Definately worth the 10 euros I spent on it.
-
Too bad after Alpha Protocol (due to the Aliens: Crucible cancellation) i vowed I would never pay full price for a Sega game. So I guess I wait until it's for sale for 10 euros. See you in 2 years, Total War: Warhammer!

Finished This War of Mine and moved on to next small indie game... Defense Grid 2. I really enjoyed the first one and the 2nd doesn't seem bad at all for the price I bought it. Pretty basic tower defense game though. Been downloading Shadows of Mordor for most of the day, so if I got the time I'll finally start playing that. Also definately picking up Stellaris, but I might wait for a patch or two before actually starting it. They've had some pretty ****ed up bugs while streaming the gameplay so I'm gonna wait for "all clear" signal.

Aye, the reboot really surprised me in a good way and the sequel looks like it's even better and more exciting to play.

I think it's definately possible to make an interesting game in historical Europe. Though I guess if political intrigue and plotting isn't something you find interesting... It just requires a lot of good writing and with great c&c it could really showcase what a ****ed up period of time it was. Just don't have it fully based on history and there's some room to maneuvur with the writing and plot. Just look at what History Channel has done with Vikings when they've taken some freedom with the historical facts.

Started This War of Mine. Man, that game is truly bleak. Just when you think you are starting to get more supplies and are doing ok you ran out of food or something else... Oh well at least my moonshine business is running well.

Josh Sawyer promoted to Obsidian's "Design Director"
Flouride replied to Infinitron's topic in Obsidian General
I guess it will depend on how much control he has over projects.
