Did you mean to post this in another thread? It seems like it's part of a conversation.

Eye of the World by Robert Jordan, but I've probably already mentioned this. Almost done. Also Shadows Beneath, the Writing Excuses Anthology. The stories themselves aren't fantastic, but it's great to see how drafts change between first and final.

Guardians of the Galaxy. I think this really is the best Marvel movie and I'm not going to qualify that by saying it might change after I digest the film more. My opinions usually change a little after initial viewing, but I don't see it happening here. This is what I always thought Avengers should have been.

Primer DVD is going for $96, that's insane. So I bought it off Amazon instant. Really good, the minimalism works for it. Good character development. I wish they had expanded on a few things, the party in particular.

I got intimidated when I kept seeing cool alternate paths that my mage couldn't use.

Sweet, I've been meaning to run through Dragonfall again somewhere down the line. I need to decide if I'll run through once beforehand or just wait.

I've stumbled through 4 false starts on my current project. Two false starts on another project. I finally have an outline and cast I'm content with, though I fear I've had that delusion before. At least it hasn't been totally unproductive, I've been actually writing and exploring characters that interest me.

They are rights of due process, not a protection against self-incrimination.

My understanding is that the police have to stop interrogating when the suspect says that he wants his lawyer. But if the suspect talks to them after that it can be construed as him waiving his rights and the interrogation may resume. Interrogating without the prompt from the suspect, for any reason, is a violation of Miranda rights. This seems upheld by several sources I can find online. Including this one. http://www.policechiefmagazine.org/magazine/index.cfm?fuseaction=display_arch&article_id=171&issue_id=122003

Halo Wars. I figure it's about time I played it post-release. Not playing it at a rapid pace, though.

I've heard the rumors regarding her Star Wars work, but I wished to believe it was exaggerated. I may have to read one just to be sure.

Tired no, but I prefer science fiction. It's just that science fiction hasn't had anyone like Pratchett since Adams died. Though it has its share of epics.

Hey, if you're going to murder companions just because they're creepy and screwed up, then you'd end up facing the king of shadows alone with the animated suit of armor.

I've heard that there's a few filler books in there where the story doesn't progress. And even Eye of the World will overdo it in the description. But this was the big fantasy franchise my college friends were into back in the day (before a girl sidetracked me into reading Harry Potter and Stephen King started writing Dark Tower again). And then when the news of Sanderson taking over, that got me into checking him out, which got me to listening to Writing Excuses, which is why I started writing again. Altogether, this feels like something I should have finished a long time ago.

Finished Revelation Space over the weekend. I haven't enjoyed a book like that since Ender's Game. Decided that it's about time I read all of the Wheel of Time. I stopped at book four before, but am restarting with Eye of the World. I like the writing style. And Chapter 1 made me realize it's been a while since I read a book that wasn't jumping scenes every couple of pages.

I don't think any of the bars around here even do growlers. And I'm not familiar with any breweries. So, I'm going with a selfish no.

Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark It's not awful, but it's a cheaply made game. The overwhelming majority of the characters are just reused models from Fall of Cybertron. Not even the single player models, but the multiplayer models with bland color schemes that make everyone overwhelmingly red or purple. The only new models seem to be the movie characters, who don't have that color problem, but they look like crap. The level design is actually somewhat decent. The big thing holding it back is that they clearly had a small budget, so they pad out every single level with a hold-the-line scenario. And it lacks the spectacular moments of the other two Cybertron games. The only new mechanics are two new guns (one of which is G1 Megatron, awesome), a power, and an unlock system that might be familiar to you if you've played ME3's multiplayer. And it has no competitive multiplayer. Only a horde mode.

This seems like tilting at windmills to me. Occasionally a state, like California, does something dumb and tries to legislate video games. And then it gets shot down by the Supreme Court and we move on. Not the threat this website is trying to sell. This is the kind of siege mentality that breeds conspiracy theorists.

So how about that local sports team? Old thread here I believe everyone was talking about a player named Robben.

Thread is past the limit, new one going up shortly. Here it is.

The Lego Movie. I got impatient and ordered it off Amazon instant. The rave reviews were well-earned.

I thought "hey, I'll play some Transformers to relax." And the RB button on my 360 controller doesn't work. I've lost a battery pack and two 360 controllers previous. Microsoft certainly did not go with the highest bidder on these things.

It was probably better than Jobs. So, do they continue the running gag from the trailers and poster that it is a shameless sequel? They run that through a few. The first one made a joke out of being a shameless reboot.
