I drank about 11 Angry Orchard hard ciders over three hours Saturday night. And started chatting up an old High School ladyfriend on Facebook as a result. I don't think it went terribly. Edit: Also, I'm about 80% sure my wallet is in the wash.

I'm about 80% sure that petition is a joke.

I want to say thank you to all of you for your sympathies. I like to say that I'm short on grief and long on empathy, but it means much that my family are in your considerations. Losing my paternal grandfather almost exactly a year after my maternal grandmother puts my emotional stability to the test. It makes me extremely worried for my sister and her brood. Also way too much hard cider today, so maybe that's why I'm all nice and stuff.

Fallout 3's level scaling makes it borderline unplayable for me later on. To say Fo4's non-lore friendly quests are worse is to sort of underplay just how bad what 3 did to Super Mutants. At least 4 brought in new villains instead of butchering old ones. And it has a much better sandbox, yes.

It's still better than Fallout 3. I would honestly rather play Minecraft, which is probably why I spent so long with Fo4 platinumed it.

I am absolutely loving Utawarerumono. Best VN I've read this year in all probability. The characters are simply fun.

The elder patron of the Tale clan has passed. I'm glad I went out to the lake to see him today, but it is regrettable he wasn't able to see me. He was looking forward to the lot of us coming out from what I hear, but it seems he had a stroke early in the week and has been acting delirious or confused since, only to end up sleeping through the past couple days. At least he was doing relatively well for his birthday a week and half ago. He was a good man and many are now lesser with his passing.

The trick Mr Gifted1, is not minding that it hurts. Or to enjoy pain. Mmm, stand me up. That's the spot. Jokes on you, I wanted to hang out at this coffee shop by myself anyway!

Having my strongest trait be that I'm "suave" and my weakest trait being "friendliness" has me weeping for the state of online dating. But I'm getting messages already, so I guess inserting morbid jokes about pushing rich old men down stairs and selling my friends out for cheez-its into all my quiz answers is going over smashing.

I have two 360 copies and a PC copy. Still haven't played it on PC. I should do that. If they added anything, I'd buy it on PS4 in a heartbeat.

A new Utawarerumono game? Adult version? XD No, it's console only, so all ages. And the third game is coming out for NA in September.

Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception I actually spelled that right on the first try this time! I really like two characters from the hour and I half I got in yesterday. If you see anyone bill this as an SRPG, just know they're lying to you. It's a visual novel first and foremost. I'm tempted to impulse buy that Starcrawlers as Melkathi is making a great argument for it, but my dance card is full.

I platinumed Nier: Automata. I still have some DLC challenges to do, so I didn't delete the save for a second time. Not committing to anything since I have Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception arriving tomorrow.

Alien Covenant If you're at all interested, then you should absolutely watch Prometheus a second time instead. This movie made me appreciate Prometheus. Where Prometheus was an interesting film done poorly, this was a mediocre film done okay. It is not the Alien prequel you've been wanting, it might be the prequel to that movie, but only if Scott is attached as Executive Producer.

Sorry, but I have bad news for you. https://www.gog.com/game/legend_of_heroes_trails_in_the_sky_the_3rd_the That coming out so recently is why those two games are so high on the list.

I finished Horizon Zero Dawn yesterday. I think the story was simply brilliant, but I apparently have no tolerance for these open world games anymore. I gave up on a bunch of the menial junk quests and collectibles about halfway through and rushed the story. And I still got tired of listening to the characters blather about their silly sundoms and lost loves. Also I need an intervention. The only question is exactly what kind. This list goes to 166.

I just want to know what exactly happened to cause C&C4. It's one of those things that everyone had to know better than to release, but there it was.

Telltale's Game of Thrones is bad. I wanted to say it's just meh, but realized that's far too lenient. It's the game that showcases just how bad Telltale's engine is with none of the greatness of their other titles to justify putting up with it. It tries to do a version of Game of Thrones opening credits and it's laughably bad. Like CG from the early 90s.

Are we posting pictures of cats!?! When people ask me what I do, I tell them I'm a professional cat pillow. Don't ask me why it's upside down. The board is doing that.

Finished Persona 5. Back to Horizon.

I guess I'm playing Learn Japanese To Survive: Hiragana Battle! I'm not surprised that this is clearly an RPG maker game, I'm just surprised at how low effort the game is. Still, edutainment is edutainment. And it's helping shore up the learning from my phone app teaching Hiragana. Came out with a sequel for Katakana last week. Looks promising and has good reviews. I just hope they've improved the art and writing. It looks like they have from the store page, with visual novel style full screen CGs. The base concept is absurd and I don't mind that, but the dialogue is clunky and most characters are a bit too cliche. Shoring that up would be fantastic.

Is it going to be more like 1 or 2? Story driven or a mindless loot-fest? I have to say that I hated 2.

I got some good news today. I'm going to live! It's good news for me, anyway, the rest of you can make up your own minds and then keep it to yourselves. It's been an anxiety on my mind for the past 8 months if they would find something. They have found a few things, in fact, but none of them likely to kill me anytime too terribly soon. I got the word that the scariest one isn't a big deal today. This has been terrible timing, too. Just imagine if the news had been the other way, trying to share that news with family while they're already dealing with stuff.

I can imagine an existing role he could have filled too, would have been pretty great.
