Did you get to kill any ladies? Oh absolutely. Complete ladykiller, I slayed them all. And was absolutely not stood up at all by anyone at any point.

So I did a playthrough of Ladykiller in a Bind. It's really good and also not even a little family friendly. I had mixed feelings in the end, anger, sadness, happiness. Which I guess qualifies as a success on the game's part.

I'm currently a bit into a fan edit of the Hobbit. And so far I've actually been enjoying it, something I felt would never happen with these films. To its great credit, I've only felt the cut merely twice so far. But in my mind I can think of 5 or 6 things that are missing. And the small jumps it suffers from are worth it.

I find myself all the way in the World of Ruin now. Shadow's alive and so is Cid. I didn't even know the former was possible.

It was nice in Wings of Liberty to see missions from the other side for Colonists/Protoss and Tosh/Nova. Anyway, I've been jumping around games a bit trying to find something to really excite me and grab my attention. I tried some Pathologic and it's not gripping me. But I'd like to keep coming back to it. Tried some Dropsy and the game is so weird it refuses to label its save/load stuff except in pictograms. So when I accidentally loaded instead of saving, I just wasn't compelled to hop right back on the horse. Installed The Evil Within with the intent to play that, but only ran it long enough to see that it does indeed run okay on my system. And then settled finally on Final Fantasy VI. It's about time I finished that game after however long it's been since I bought it back on the PSOne. I've bought so many JRPGs this past half year, I have to start making headway through them.

Finished Legacy of the Void. Yeah, the epilogue was kind of crap. Heck, that final mission was double crap. Yeah, let's stick some targets on floating islands when I have the worst fliers in the game. That's a good one. Edit: Checked out Zombi for about an hour, I have it from PS+. So very dull.

The tag system is a real mess.

You know you have a serious game buying addiction when you're browsing Steam Horror games for something to buy and can find nothing. So you google up a best of Horror games list and find out you already own half the titles in the top 25 and have never played them.

I did, in fact. Just met him yesterday, he seems delightful. That's probably just John de Lancie at this point, but we'll see where he goes.

A few missions into Legacy of the Void now and it's reaffirmed my opinion that the Protoss are simultaneously the coolest race and also the dullest characters. You'd be hard pressed to write a less inspired lot, you really would. The only character drama in the whole thing so far is that one ancient preserver has a stick up her... whatever they have. I'm loving what they did with unit customization. Heart of the Swarms mutations taken further. Now neither my Zealots nor my Dark Templar ever stay dead.

I enjoy a good groan.

I think TrueNeutral said basically the same thing. I'm dying to play it now.

Finished Heart of the Swarm. The campaign was good fun (Ha!), but the story wasn't anything special. Literally spending the entire campaign building up power so they can do one mission sequence in service of plot. That seems less than stellar. Should have just built up power while moving the plot forward. Time to search for Jim at this dominion base! While we're here, let's assimilate some of the native forms into the swarm! But no.

And her mother is hospitalized today for a stroke. :/

Maybe those things mean something different to you than to other people. I like the dialogue because every character has a unique voice that would come through even without the voice acting. The lines show character, even if the characters aren't the best.

Finished my replay of Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty over the holiday weekend. I forgot how good the dialogue was. And went through a good deal of Heart of the Swarm on my sick day yesterday. This is my second time playing it and I recall thinking the love story was forced last time. I don't remember them being quite that close in Starcraft.

Started getting a cold on Monday. So had a couple of nights of fever dreams. These are kind of fun, for certain values of fun. First night I couldn't even form coherent thoughts as I tried to sleep. No words, just pictures that could be best described as what a fly would see if half its eyes wandered. Last night was a bit better. I had a fantastic dream were I was some sort of world renowned AI researcher that people wanted to get back into the business, but I completely refused, trying to tell them to do it themselves. Somehow this lead to a Starcraft teams tournament, where I had the absolutely brilliant idea of rushing the enemy with a swarm of weak enemies. I felt this was very clever. Though apparently in my dream, matches start with all your units already built, so the opposing team blew themselves up killing my units. At this point I started to panic because I was sure this was against the rules. However, all the audience does is complain about that's why Blizzard doesn't allow large maps and some debate over Bryce Dallas Howard's acting ability.

I'm getting tired of Fruit of Grisaia. It's like a sitcom at this point. It's mostly lost track of any plot and is just whatever antics they get up to for a scene. Zzzzz I got Legacy of the Void yesterday, so I'm starting up a replay of all of Starcraft II.

G-senjou no Maou, Pony Island, and Phantasy Star IV Too much of a backlog to get anything else, but was sorely tempted. G-senjou is constantly and repeatedly recommended to me, so I decided to get it. The other two were less than a buck and also highly recommended. I might get Comix Zone just to have the only other Sega Genesis game I'm interested in. I already finished Pony Island and deleted it because the game encouraged me to. But there was so much left to do! I might have been tricked.

The only reason the force moments were the only interesting ones in the first half is because Chirrut and Baze (and K-2S0) were the only characters with personality, IMO. Not because the Force is so great and iconic to Star Wars or anything like that.

Old thread is acting wonky, so here's a new one. Let's get back to yelling at how each others' opinions are wrong. GO! Old thread: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/87304-movies-youve-seen-recently-thread/page-37

Vaders only as effective as the plot says so, too. It's not like he slaughtered his way through the OT. He kills what, four people? Two of those are on his side. Because Star Wars needs to be about more. Especially these anthology films. A failure to understand that, a reliance on lightsaber spectacle, was part of the flaws of the prequels. They repeatedly used lightsabers and Jedi as a crutch in otherwise terrible films. And given how excited people are by so short a moment of it you can probably see how tempting it could be for Disney to fall into that same routine. Edit: Thread's acting funny with lots of posts, creating a new one. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/90693-movies-youve-seen-recently/

It's the first instance of a Clone Wars character appearing in films. Kind of cool on that front. And he's going to appear in Rebels now.
