I just want to know what exactly happened to cause C&C4. It's one of those things that everyone had to know better than to release, but there it was.

Telltale's Game of Thrones is bad. I wanted to say it's just meh, but realized that's far too lenient. It's the game that showcases just how bad Telltale's engine is with none of the greatness of their other titles to justify putting up with it. It tries to do a version of Game of Thrones opening credits and it's laughably bad. Like CG from the early 90s.

Bioware Montreal isn't EA-acquired.

I guess I'm playing Learn Japanese To Survive: Hiragana Battle! I'm not surprised that this is clearly an RPG maker game, I'm just surprised at how low effort the game is. Still, edutainment is edutainment. And it's helping shore up the learning from my phone app teaching Hiragana. Came out with a sequel for Katakana last week. Looks promising and has good reviews. I just hope they've improved the art and writing. It looks like they have from the store page, with visual novel style full screen CGs. The base concept is absurd and I don't mind that, but the dialogue is clunky and most characters are a bit too cliche. Shoring that up would be fantastic.

Is it going to be more like 1 or 2? Story driven or a mindless loot-fest? I have to say that I hated 2.

I got some good news today. I'm going to live! It's good news for me, anyway, the rest of you can make up your own minds and then keep it to yourselves. It's been an anxiety on my mind for the past 8 months if they would find something. They have found a few things, in fact, but none of them likely to kill me anytime too terribly soon. I got the word that the scariest one isn't a big deal today. This has been terrible timing, too. Just imagine if the news had been the other way, trying to share that news with family while they're already dealing with stuff.

I can imagine an existing role he could have filled too, would have been pretty great.

My paternal grandfather has been diagnosed with cancer. It's far along and there's not much time left. My sister still struggles with our maternal grandmother's passing last year, this won't be good for her. My father and paternal grandmother I can only imagine. I'm worried about those three the most in this.

Still Persona 5. I think I'm in the final stretch, but my interest is waning, so I'm splitting my time into a couple visual novels that I won't mention here.

3rd writing group meeting last night. And really the first time I've let someone else see my work. Comments were interesting. Almost entirely positive, which I'm unhappy about because it doesn't help me figure out how to improve. The one guy who didn't already know what genre I'm working in expressed meaninglessly generic expectations, where the other three who did know what genre might have been a little too on the nose for how early this section was. I don't know if I'm being too obvious or too subtle.

If you want an easy out and you're called to a small town, just be the last to arrive. This was a small courtroom only hearing a single trial today, they ordered us by when we came in. And both times I've hit selection, they just went down the list. People at front are most likely.

Woohoo, excluded from jury duty. I was number 9 in the pool for a 6 person jury. The bailiff actually called me to be number 6 in the box, but then recalled that because I was excluded and he overlooked it. I assume it was a demographic exclusion, since the jury ended up being filled with people who have more grey hair than me. Which is a feat.

I'm feeling quite dashing today. A month ago I was considering to get my yearly haircut. That's how I do it, I get it cut down to nothing and then let it grow until it annoys me. Well right before I decided to do it, the attractive cashier that's a decade my junior at the grocery store asked me if I always got compliments on my hair. She said if she was a guy, this is the hair she would want. I decided I had to keep it. Today at work, the boss' son's wife told me she liked my beard. I guess I have to keep that. And in today's writing group, one of the others told me they thought my hair looked good in the ponytail I'm trying out. Now to find women my actual age.

Persona 5 It's just like 3 and 4 before it really. I feel like I've played it already. But since 3 and 4 were so great, it's not a bad thing.

Aww man, I miss that game. Instant buy. Can't wait for them to announce the sequel's port.

I love Nier: Automata so much. I played it three games ago and still can't stop thinking about it.

Just watch the ending on YouTube. I did that for the first Nier. I did watch the ending on Youtube. But doing that for Nier? Not even on the same level. SHAME
