Sometimes the worst part of being a writer is meeting other writers. Science-Fiction writers might just be the biggest tossup of the lot. Because sometimes you meet a guy who thinks he's the smartest person in the world who has everything all figured out, and then he opens his mouth and... I met a guy yesterday who told me about his book. He told me the main reason he even wrote it is because he's read so many other time travel novels and all of them were unbelievable with ridiculous nonsense as a vehicle for time travel, but not him. OH NO. You see he has it figured out because he read an article about DNA one time. You see there's all this junk DNA in your system, if you could just find the part of it that has your position in time and alter that, you could travel through time. He seemed very proud of this and somewhat confident it might be discovered in the future. But you know what, that's actually fairly normal when dealing with science-fiction writers who are passionate for their craft. If you had heard as many bits about quantum consciousness as I have, you'd be a bit numb to this sort of thing. So I don't mind it too much. But things don't stop there. Between him talking and the Amazon description, I sort of sussed out what his novel was about. It's about a guy so upset with US politics (circa 2012/2013), so certain the US is on the path to destruction and insolvency, that he hatches a plan to fix it by travelling to the past. Where he tries to save the US by helping the South win the Civil War. Naturally I just nod my head and pretend to be interested, try not to let the look of sheer terror show on my face.

I grabbed Darkwood, Deadly Premonition, and Night in the Woods on the Steam Halloween sale. And promptly connected the first two to GOG. I've been meaning to give Deadly Premonition another shot since I binged through Twin Peaks on Netflix. And I'd rather play it on PC than my PS3. And Darkwood looks so freaking terrifying. I'm tense just thinking about installing it.

Titanfall 2 and Muv-Luv Alternative still. I originally mained Monarch, decided it was great for hit and run and survival, but not good at doing damage. Mained Ion for a while, realizing it's basically a worse Monarch that's only good at goosing pilots and mowing down grunts. Now I'm moving on to Scorch!

I bought Icey yesterday and already got all the achievements. It was good. There's a free DLC I have yet to play though.

There is some gameplay footage floating around youtube now, apparently from an EA event.

You might be able to copy to an external. There also used to be some trick with routers to download. But yeah, that sucks to lose it. Still can't believe Konami had it removed.

So that's a no for me, then. The number 1 complaint I had with Oblivion was the level scaling. I got sick of killing myself trying to sneak attack clanfears in the midgame or finding bandits who could take like a dozen sneak attacks in late game. I also really got disappointed in how the only loot that wasn't leveled was the iron junk laying around.

ESRB isn't where I'd look to handle the gambling lootboxes, anyway. If the ESRB disappeared, I think we'd all be better off. Public outcry is the thing to look towards. It helped kill online passes and those things weren't half this reviled.

I absolutely hated SWTOR. I think I just really dislike MMOs.

Does Tamriel Unlimited require a subscription to play? Edit: And after asking, I see it say it does not.

I'd gladly take half his games, but I wouldn't have time to play them all.

I tried befriending one of those phone scammers that claims they're giving out federal grants. He started asking me if I was single or not. Dude, I did not want to be that kind of friend.

Bloodborne is the one I got a plat for, then went back for the DLC to maintain 100%.

I couldn't get into Demon's Souls. I also have it on PS3 and it's the only Soulsborne I've not completed, not counting DLCs.

I finished Danganronpa v3. Oh man, what an ending. That was something else entirely. They really do not want to make another one.

Sakura Dungeon is a great dungeon crawler. Sakura Fantasy is a half-decent first chapter of a visual novel that will never be completed. All other Sakura games are trash.

Hitting up the Star Wars Battlefront 2 beta. I miss my jump pack. It feels like a whole new game not even related to any previous Battlefront titles. I'm still not sure if that's a good or bad thing. I just hope we get more defend the position/control point modes. Not loving Theed's initial objective. And going on through Danganronpa v3. Not much else to say than it's a solid DR title.

Speaking of which, I have a bunch in my giveaway list I know at least one of you out there has to be interested You're talking about me, aren't you?

Danganronpa v3. Loving it like I love the other mainline DRs. I just hope the overarching mystery is as good. Muv-Luv Alternative is on hold while I play it. I'm also playing around with the SNES classic. I got to Andross on Level 1 of Star Fox, but realized I don't really care for the game. So I'm done with that. I moved on to Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. I'd never played it before (though I'm sure I have it on GBA and never got around to it), so this should be quite a lot of fun for me. So far the animation and graphics on it hold up a lot better than the other titles I've checked out.

I waited in line 20 minutes. I forgot they were coming out until 9:40 AM today, told work I was leaving for a little while, ran to the mall. Gamestop's line told me they were all reserved, Toys R Us told me they were all reserved but recommended I check Best Buy. Got to Best Buy, got ticket 65. I was out by 10:20.

I'm skeptical that modern Atari even has the money to build a single low spec PC for their own use, let alone have an entire console line manufactured.
