I look at it similarly to how I look at home movies. You can buy a Sony or a Panasonic Blu-Ray player, they still play all the same movies that get released. You don't have to worry about the movie you're looking forward to only being released on HD-DVD. You don't have to worry about whether the Blu-Ray version getting X deleted scene and the HD-DVD version getting Y behind the scene. Or try to figure out which versions has the slighty improved sound and which version is accidentally missing the cigarette burn at the end of reel 2. I care more about the media competing than I care about the players competing. Obviously it's not the same situation. I'm just not really sure why it's not the same. And it'd be definitely nice to see the segregated networks gone.

Kind of a minor point here, but anyone else annoyed that they started changing the cover designs? It ruins the whole set look I was wanting. Or am I the only guy bothered by that kind of thing? :/

Too many games, so little time. What'll I play? Maybe I'll run a RNG, I can't decide, they're all so good! But really, I can't fathom a period when I don't have a backlog.

News Int. Inc. hack phone of missing (dead girl)
Tale replied to Walsingham's topic in Way Off-Topic
I think hacking family members' and victims' cell phones is a reasonable place for reporters to be afraid of going in investigations. They have no cause to be afraid of classical methods, interviews, undercover work, and informants. -
The distinction between an "actual religion" and a "parody religion" is not one I would ask a government to try to define.

Unnecessary upgrading is something I absolutely hate. It segregates the playerbase between those who migrate and those who don't and increases costs for both the developer, who has to learn the new hardware and build/upgrade/license new engines, and the player, who has to buy the new hardware. Hardware should progress eventually, yes, but only when there's some pressing need for it beyond prettier graphics. I think we're getting there now. I like to think that it's our chance for cheaper game releases. If console games can regularly drop about $10-20, we'll see wider adoption. But to get to that point, we probably need to find a way to skim on development costs. Cutting the development costs by dragging out the hardware would be a simple way to do that. My personal fantasy. Alternatively, they may not lower prices, but may be more willing to take risks on lower return projects. Something that's often complained about.

3D Models not rendering after fresh install
Tale replied to cswurt's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I'm inclined to think your hardware cuts it. When was the last time you updated graphics card drivers? -
I'd also welcome a single console future. Assuming it's made to last. I think it's a necessary step to making game consoles an important part of the home entertainment setup.

Isn't that sort of the genre's whole point? The (negative) effects of scientific advancement? I like the TV Tropes page quote. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CyberPunk

Hit up Breath of Death VII: The Beginning last night. Fairly fun game. The writing in the dialogue is very amusing. Pacing seems to be quite well, dungeons aren't too long. Gameplay is acceptable for a game that's trying to evoke old 16-bit console RPGs. Worth its half of the $3.00 asking price. Also more Terraria. Dug down deeper than ever before, finally got a ton of iron, some silver, and gold. And decided to build every man's dream. An escape tunnel that runs beneath my house.

I'm wearing a monocle and top hat, right now.

Played more Terraria. It's a fun game, but I'm losing my interest. Can't find nearly enough copper or iron. Nothing is really progressing. I've explored one entire cave system and another down so far that the game started changing the music. In both instances, I got so lost, I had to dig my way out. That's conceptually kind of cool, but it's just a lot of time digging dirt. And I got very little for my efforts. Oooh, I found sand. You know what I can do with sand? Make glass, then bottles, then a few potions I don't really care for.

Congrats, but I think your wife deserves most of the credit here. You don't know that. Medical science is seeing rapid advancement.

They did this about a decade ago. I don't know of any regular Wal-Marts or regular Targets. The last regular Target I know of was the one I worked at in 2000. Which closed down and started splitting employees into nearby SuperTargets.

SQUEEEEE I love Slayers.

Gave Terraria a try last night. Ended up playing it until 1:30 AM. Not as much a feat since I started about 12:00 AM. Anyway, pretty fun game. I think I'm more used to Dwarf Fortress, because I kept wondering how to make a forge and why my wooden sword is better than my copper one.

My understanding is that he gets his powers stolen by a wizard. And they hold them hostage. So he has to save the world before they'll give it back.

Cthulhu Saves the World is supposed to hit Steam tomorrow for $3. It'll include Breath of Death 7. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/show...d.php?t=1886575 It's been on Xbox 360 for a while, as a downloadable indie title. The reviews I'm seeing seem rather positive. I think I'll pick it up.

Finished Rain-Slicked Precipice Episode One. Moved onto Episode 2. Current plan is to try out Terraria after I'm done with it, if I finish today. Then get back into New Vegas.

The Azunite Church
Tale replied to Sannom's topic in Dungeon Siege III: Odo's Scribbles - Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
I kind of took it as them simply not appreciating her change in direction. Whatever the original intent was, they went with it, then were abandoned. They might try following it through or might calm down. Though, them trying to continue without her would be the most interesting. -
I can't find any mention of a problem similar to yours. You don't mention this in your troubleshooting steps, but did you try starting from an earlier save or starting over altogether? Does it occur every time you get to the lockpicking minigame or have you just been reloading the same save after the problem started? If it is occurring with a new save, I would recommend wiping the profile data for the game. It did work for you at one point.

From personal experience, it can take at least 6 years.
