What armor would you have preferred?

Via Slashdot: Neanderthal Genes Found In All Non-African Populations So, apparently Sapiens and Neanderthalensis did some cross-breeding. But it's interesting to me that neanderthals were close enough to us for breeding and production of viable offspring. Apparently it had been known that they bred (this is from 09), but it wasn't clear how widespread it was.

Just because you have all the equipment, it does not mean you are prepared. The meteor landed two days journey to the west. I left home with my axe, my pick, some extra dirt to build a shelter, and torches for light. But night itself is the greatest danger. It fell when I was in the middle of the corruption. Surrounded by thorns, flying one-eyed monstrosities, and deep chasms in black rock. If I were to continue, I would have fallen. I bunkered down, created a temporary shelter in the middle of that evil place and waited for light. Anyway, more Terraria. It gets a cool sort of survival element if night falls when you're in the corruption. I kind of wish there was an RPG that evoked that kind of thing. Not wanting to be caught outside in the dark in particular areas.

They stole my idea for a company name. Though, it was actually Fail Upwards, for the abbreviation pun.

There could always be another collapse! Out of which rises the casual/microtran empire! Which is terrible in a couple ways. Not the least of which are all those people who lose their jobs.

That picture made me interested. Then I read that they use cards to move them around and stuff. Which made it sound less interesting. And the MMO comparison.

Anyone around here watch Fox News? I'm curious as to your opinion of their coverage on the matter. I've read a few criticisms of them, such as claiming they're ignoring it, defending Murdoch, or changing the subject. But most of that I'm hearing from outlets that have been vocal against Fox News for a while. I'm hoping to get some closer to objective opinions.

I think the best theory so far is that the developers hit puberty My initial thought was that they were trying to follow God of War. But no, God of War hadn't released yet. The 90s were over, so that's not it either. I guess there's just a constant pool of darker and edgier in culture that we'll always see drawn from. Anyway, just watched the PoP 2008 trailer and made myself sad. I don't think Montreal will ever continue it.

Heh, keep your eyes on one side for the vid and they look average to attractive, keep your eyes in the center and they look like hideous trolls. I'm fairly certain it has something to do with how we perceive faces. Our faces are not uniform when we display emotion (ever?). By focusing in the center somehow our brain fills in half of the face with an identical side which makes them looks distorted. Am not explaining very well, but perhaps this article will explain it better. Pretty interesting stuff IMHO. That explanation sounds about right. Half of the faces ended up turning into Cyclops for me.

Correct.

A buff is a power, usually from a defensive spell, that provides a benefit to your character. Such as the healing spells that provide healing over time. That is a buff. You lose the effect until it is next cast.

Glad to hear it. How'd you find out how to fix it? I did some googling and came up with nothing. Trial and error?

Why would the US want jurisdiction? It's an Australian, a UK tabloid, and some UK victims. That's terrifying. I'd wager it was a coincidence, but the merest hint that it's not is terrifying.

Forgot to mention. At Harry Potter, I saw the Dark Knight Rises Teaser and the Sherlock Holmes Trailer. Good to see that Sherlock Holmes 2 will get a release this year. DKR won't be ready until 2012.

I saw that Saturday. I thought it was good. However, I can't imagine having seen it without having been familiar with the books. There's a lot of callbacks to previous stuff that, if you'd missed, you could be rather lost. It worked well when I read through the entire series in a couple of weeks. I can't imagine having to follow the movies as they release and keep the stuff fresh that you would need. I'm probably just overthinking that.

Onto Warrior Within. Kind of jarring to go from the Sands of Time to this. It's like going from a Disney ride to a death metal concert.

Did you get the watercolory 2008 Prince of Persia as well? I really liked it despite the general non-difference it got back in it's day. And it had a as well. I got all of 'em. Including 2008 and Forgotten Sands. I really liked 2008, too. Have it on the 360.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. Bought the whole set back on Steam's Ubisoft sale. Finally getting around to playing through it. Played SoT before, it's the other two of that trilogy I missed.

Bad Company 1 and 2 are the only Battlefield games that even have single player levels.
