IIRC, in one of the epilogues in Origins there were hints that Morrigan had become court mage in Orlais which hinted to the continuity of the subplot involving "GodChild" she may have conceived with the Warden. The only epilogue that had that one was specifically the one where she didn't have a child. They feel free to ignore epilogues anyway. I can see wanting to play the warden again if Morrigan shows up. In that context it makes sense.

When people talk about using console commands to resolve problems, my first thought is always that their use of console commands probably caused it in the first place. Was Dxun the first time you ever used the console? And did you try other remedies before you started using the console?

Finished Book of Unwritten Tales. Not as good as I'd hoped. The ending is pretty anticlimactic, too. But I liked how they handled puzzle logic. Still had problems with pixel hunting. And the humor was decent, not exceptional.

Made a resolution yesterday. 10 o'clock every night, I have to stop playing games, and start writing. That's not a lot of time dedicated to writing, I will admit. But knowing myself, if I find a good stride, it'll take over a weekend. If I force myself into it, I'll spend more time pacing than being productive.

That ship has sailed, my friend. We'll never play the Warden again. May I ask why that's an issue for you? I could understand wanting customization like the Warden, but why specifically the Warden? I guess that the only thing that would keep me going back to the series would be closure. Wrapping up all the cliffhangers from Origins, or else when I see the characters I still have the same view of them that I did while roleplaying the Warden and it just ruins the interaction for me. I might need some specifics. What cliffhangers? What characters are you expecting to see again? I wish Dragon Age would take the same route as Elder Scrolls. I don't think it makes any sense to be seeing the same characters in completely different nations. But I guess it doesn't matter because my interest is almost non-existent either way.

Chris Avellone reportedly talked with Kotaku about what he'd do for a Planescape sequel. http://kotaku.com/5935737/the-guy-who-made-planescape-torment-tells-us-what-a-spiritual-successor-would-look-like The important bit here, I think Which says to me that they're looking at something else. I also found this interesting for understanding game writing. At the end he talks about the time pressures of story writing for games. Icewind Dale 2 was written over a weekend. But with Torment and Van Buren, they had much longer than is usual.

Rented Lockout last night. I do not recommend it to anyone. The script is dumb. Not cliche dumb, but authentically dumb.
-
Did you convince him that you do this regularly? I mean, as a one off, I can see someone doing it.

Finished my second run of Transformers: War for Cybertron. Yeah, it's still good. Purchased Darksiders II, but I think I'll hit up Book of Unwritten Tales first. Can probably knock that out before the weekend is over.

Check your system warning log. Your computer may be shutting down to prevent overheating.

OnLive might be shutting down. Fargo's tweeting about it. https://twitter.com/brianfargo One of the OnLive employees is trying to recall his e-mail saying they shut down. So, maybe it's not? This guy's with IDG news service. He says he sees people with moving boxes outside the offices.

Alt-tab out, resume download manually, then go back into the game.

Transformers: War for Cybertron HAIL LORD MEGATRON Art direction is a bit messy. Far too often I have trouble telling enemies from background. Though the gunfire itself helps resolve the confusion.

It just looks like terrain, prosper. You're going to need textures or something before anyone can say what it looks like.

Loved the first and fully intend to get the second. But am going to replay the first beforehand.

FEAR 3 is actually pretty good. Once you get past the persistent unlock system that doesn't let you use slow-mo any reasonable amount for the first couple levels. And if you ignore the plot being terrible both on its own and in the context of the franchise. And if you can be okay with it lasting only 4 hours. And if you don't mind that it's a step back mechanically from... Okay, so it's not actually good.

Start of old thread. End of old thread. I have no original content to provide to christen this new thread's maiden voyage. So I'll just steal my favorite from the end of the old thread.

How did you get past 500? Bad thread, bad!

http://www.teamfortress.com/mvm/ I hold to a firm belief that horde modes are the most boring multiplayer game mode ever devised. And you don't even get anything for suffering through it unless you pay a ticket per map session. I won't be touching that ever.

Finished KOTOR 2 with TSLRCM. What next? Choices are: 1) Darksiders 1 replay to prepare for Darksiders 2. 2) Transformers: War for Cybertron replay to prepare for Fall of Cybertron 3) The Book of Unwritten Tales because I just want a good adventure. 4) Some random RPG from my backlog 5) Neverwinter Nights because I hate fun.

http://thecriticalbit.com/2012/08/15/interview-brian-mitsoda/ Interview with Brian Mitsoda. He talks a bit about Obsidian, Troika, and his work on Dead State.

I definitely think he's taking the wrong message from his own ideas. You could probably make a game around the concept of losing as an important part of learning. Not just using standard mechanics that allow you to lose but making it a focal element of the design to teach it. Games can be used to teach. And if you see something you genuinely believe to be a problem, take the opportunity to try and fix it.

Almost a Year of posts on same issue?!?
Tale replied to BaconyMutt's question in Dungeon Siege III: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
There was a patch pushed out yesterday that sounds like it was addressed at your problem. I know this is a month old, but if you happen to stop by, maybe you'll read about it.
