  1. SR2 was supposed to be unable to enter atmosphere given its great size. This is why all the missions drop you off in a shuttle. Of course I don't think Illium is ever explained and Mass Effect 3 completely forgets. I'm more bothered by the forward facing window, putting the pilot in the most vulnerable combat position on the hsip, and Joker taking credit for automated systems. He brags about the accuracy of a faster than light jump in the first minutes of Mass Effect 1. Just what was he doing to give it such accuracy? Was he steering the ship at near instantaneous FTL, making up for .0000000000000000001 degree deviations that could send them light years off course? By feel? Is he a math whiz capable of calculating course corrections instantaneously?
  2. I don't hate Joker, I just really don't understand the Normandy's design. It's wrong. To try and return to the topic, I feel myself getting vulnerable to the dulling of old memories. I saw a question "what platform will you be getting DA:I on" and I almost answered. I had to stop and think to myself, wait, I'm not even currently planning to get it at all! I'm even replaying DA:O. And that's building up some hype. I feel myself slipping...
  3. I still don't understand what Joker actually does on that ship. It couldn't be important, his chair is in the most vulnerable section. They even give him a window that serves no purpose except to make him feel special.
  4. Even the old epilogue never said she behaved in the court.
  5. Oh man, now I really want a Fable style choose your title system. I'd pick The Inquirer.
  6. http://store.steampowered.com/agecheck/app/241620/ At all your favorite digital distributors.
  7. Everything I read makes it sound like the old formula. With talk about how you'll check out these side stories, like whatever the Grey Wardens are up to, sounding like hooks into gathering allies.
  8. The Inquisition is not the Templars. The Templars are fighting the Mages. The Inquisition may or may not view the war as petty bickering.
  9. You're not the Spanish Inquisition, tasked with finding heretics. You're tasked with stopping a war and putting an end to the crap going on with the veil.
  10. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2013/08/12/dragon-age-inquisition-s-morrigan-past-and-present.aspx New Game Informer article, it's about Morrigan. First page is character history, second is what's in store for DA:I.
  11. What I've gathered is the PC will be the "first" Inquisitor. So it's basically that he or she s trying to reform them apart from the Chantry. I imagine Cassandra will be the one to suggest it.
  12. I have a Saint's Row 3 foil card. I wonder how much it's worth. *checks* 0.55 - 0.67 That's a bummer. Anyway, the only good thing to come out of badges is the backgrounds. But the backgrounds are often cheaper than the cards.
  13. It's ok, she played one of the most archetypal characters in DA (it's right there in the name: Morrigan) which somehow got reduced to being a pouty, awkward, teenager with social problems. Way to go character development! This. I find it annoying to see that you have to do petty evil to gain her approval, which is a bit weird since she's supposed to be apathetic character. I blame the approval based design and petty choices. Companions are intended to be sounding boards. They're meant to reflect the good and the bad of a choice. Morrigan was given the obligation of finding the "good" in decisions that were otherwise petty or sociopathic. It seemed almost as if they came up with the scenarios that had choice, then they started going through the companions to see who could agree and disagree. And they had it mandatory that someone had to agree and someone had to disagree. So we get Morrigan having strong feelings about price gougers simply because there was nobody else around. Is that what happened? Danged if I know. But it's a nice little fiction to tell myself.
  14. To each their own, as it were. Claudia Black is the only reason I got over my Bioware aversion to play DAO. Which isn't exactly sound decision making, but I didn't regret it.
  15. The only Claudia worth mentioning, natch.
  16. As long as you stay away from Claudia, I don't need to post menacing things.
  17. I didn't know him and I'm absolutely not spiritual. I'm so decidedly not spiritual that there's not much I can say about death. What I can say is this: the community, especially those who remember him, and his family are diminished by the loss. And my sympathies go out to those who remain. There is a contribution from individuals to all groups they are part of. They present new ideas and challenge old ones, they expand knowledge, and they provide comfort. And with their loss, the group is diminished.
  18. I have never heard of this kind of promotion. A bonus for the people who pre-ordered extra early. I suppose it is possible, but without a precedent the argument is hard to make. I mean there's sound reasoning there, loyalty rewards, but getting Ubisoft onboard might require pointing at a similar successful promotion that increased sales.
  19. Second update on SRR pack for the day. I swear I'm not spamming. I'm working on complex dialogue trees now. Not doing real branching, but am checking skills to do subtle differences ("a Decker" vs "another Decker). I miss doing this stuff. Observation: Being creative while inebriated lets the words flow without hesitation, but we all know that. The realization involves working in the technical elements of scripting. The scripts are working, but everything I'm figuring out will be lost come the morn, especially if I have another drink. *checks clock* Oh yeah, I'm not going to remember how any of this works.
  20. Working on the intro map for my SRR pack. All of the floors are designed and populated with props. All the area transitions are set up for internal movement. Really, all that's left is to introduce a plot and initial loadout.
  21. It's really fun. The one thing is it might not have long term play value. I beat it in 6 hours and the only remaining interest I have is in doing goof off runs. But it does simulation well and really gets you into it. Immersive is what most people would call it. You make decisions as you might in that situation. A guy offers you a bribe and you might take it because it's a choice between food and heat every day. Someone asks you for help, but they have no papers. Do you help them and get penalized, or worse, they might be a terrorist. Or do you turn them away and never know what happens.
  22. A new character. Supposedly without a set name, though they may be referring only to first instead of both first and last. Last would be a... well, it would be a first for the franchise.
  23. Rented a Blu-Ray movie from redbox, saw that it said "DVD video" on the disc and called them. They gave me a couple promo codes. Finally pop it in the player and it's actually a Blu-Ray. So, that's weird, it has the DVD label but it is really a Blu-Ray. Free movies! Addendum: Southern Comfort Cherry is incredible.
