  1. Hmm... i am surprised about the heavy criticism about the bugs. Played 100 hours, just one crash and only 1 sidequest seemd buggy (that with the fruit, i want to let the fruittree grow and let the blamed thief die, but i could not get that result). The rest i annoying, but not gamebreaking. Oh no, i take the Orlan baby and now it dosent appear? Man, it could have died in Cad Nua! A bit worse is the relationship bug with Aloth (or is it not a bug? It could be, that it is very hard to earn his respect). As some posted, in comparsion to others games its quite good. Especially if u consider the openworld like Questdesign, thats far more complex, than more linear storys
  2. Hmm can't say the companions are bland. Ok, i think they get a bit less dialog than in poe1, but now they hsve more partybanter and comments. They are not only flat stereotypes and have background and personality. Compare to all fan favorid Minsc in BG. He was a Foeest Gump with s big weapon. Only minimal background story, no personal quest. To be honest, he was quite flat in many ways - but he was very funny and need only a few lines. In PoE2 that would be a mere sidekick. So the companions get quite depth and love from the devs. But that does not mean, everyone must like the charakters. I would say it is easier to like stereotype personalitys than complex one. Example: many like the easy-going and flirting part oh Tekehu, but get annoyed about his laments to be a chosen and the expectations the Huana had to him, but no one cares about him a own person or his wishes For me i like that twist. And it is geeate, that u can influence him to take respondility for his people and fate or going his own way. But thats a matter of taste. And Eder, Xoti, Tekehu and Serafen like all a good joke abd get along well.
  3. Hmm.. i wonder... maybe the game was desgned to go to ashen maw quickly, because after that the factionleaders tells you, that u would need help to get to Ukaizo and u can't stay for u alone anymore. Making then all the faction quest makes much more sense... But i do most of the sidequest before ashen maw (i had the feeling it would be a point of no return) - and i think most people did it that way. Maybe the game feels more rewarding if you go quickly to ashen maw first?
  4. Well, it is a bit confusing, that half the charakters are bi and horny as hell. Ok, Tekehu is exact that kind of personalty, but the rest. So i cant answer the question of the thread, but i guess the dev want to do a favor of the many fans, who wants a romance. Well, i like romances too, but here i said to everyone - lets stay friends. The only Companion, i would romance, is Eder, and he is not romancable - thats life. ^^
  5. I would say, the game would work better without the mainplot. Just a simple treasure hunt or finding the Way to Ukaizo (and maybe discover there in a way of bad luck Eothas desroying the wheel, ifits important to poe3) would be a better main plot to integrate all the faction and sidequets. About the Gods... i think its a matter of personal taste. I like mystic distant gods more than these very human-like gods, as they appear in deadfire. For this i like the presentation of the gods at poe1 much more. But its complaing at high level. I enjoyed deadfire much, it s only sad that most of us see, i could have been better, because the main plot feels so separated.
  6. Well, hard to say.. overall i like Deadfire. Especially the side- and faction quests are golden and full of moral dilemmas. I thougt the Huana were the "good" faction. But i ve learned, that they broke the pact with a dragon, bound him and siphon his power to strenghen the watershapers. True, if they do nothing, they would suffer the same fate like america natives, as the europeans came. But blow up the powderhouse and blame the VTC? That was hard (the others werent better, except principi maybe, but they are ruthless pirates!). But the mainstory feels strange. So Eothas go and kills hundreds of people on his way, the gods are concerned and send you. Ok, thats fine, but why then u can explore the whole Archipel without a negative outcome? You can take all time of the world, Eothas is still waiting. Ok he says he needs to rest at the Maw, but it feels a bad excuse. For the mainstory, s plausibility it would be better, if the devs had a better explanation for the whole time for exploration. Like u need the help of a fraction to follow him or get a clue, which way he went. Or to reach Ukaizo u need the seven adra-crystals of power or the like. For the end: I dont understand why destroying the wheel is bad. If we belive the story, then wheel was created by the engwithan/god 2000 years ago. Before that, the life dont die out. Sad the game dont explain how reincarnation works before the wheel and why it should not work again (maybe the origin way was destroyed during the creation of the wheel abd cant be restored, but i can only guess, maybe poe3 will tell us)
  7. I like the chanter class, but tekehu as pure chanter was a bit disappointing. Most battles on veteran mode were to short, if i used one invocation, then i get seldon enough new phrases to use another one, before the comvat was over. So brilliant Inspiration was quit useless and the phrases are nice, but except that against the charm of the Fampyrs i dont had the feeling, that they make a big difference. Most time Tekehu paralized mob of foes and Xoti (monk), Maia (ranger) and Eder (swashbuckler) (in that order) take them down. My priest of weal was most time good looking, execept against vessels^^
  8. On normal it dosnt matter... there is no need for powergaming and mostly the standard AI can handle the combats. So pick the class you think it would be cool. You could even play a priest.
  9. Maia leaves, as i sided with the Huana. She stays, if u remove her during the speech and final quest of the Huana Queen, she stays in Party and u can selectet her. Cant say about Pallegina, because i never had her in my active Party. Too antireligìous for my Priest of Wael
  10. I am surprised, that so many complain about retcon or nuke the lore and cosmology. I did not see this. PoE1 never said, that the wheel was not created by the Gods btw Engwithans. In fact we learned, that Berath is an artifical god and a god of the wheel. We also learned, that the Engwithans were great animancers, who could control the flow of souls. That was, what Thaos did in part 1. So where is the surprise, that the Engwithans created the wheel? But the game do not tell, who the flow of souls and reincarnation works before the wheel. Thats too bad. The game dont explain in detail the true nature and function of souls. Im not sure, but i think in the prologe of PoE1 it was said, thar Adra was once growing, but today not more. I wonder if that is true, that Adra once grew? Could it be, that building the wheel stoped the growth of Adra? Could it be, that Adra is pure soul essence and was the source of new souls before the wheel?
  11. Hmm... can't understand, why some people are so angry or disappointed about Eder and Palligena not to be romanced. Well i like Eder much and i hoped he would be a romance-option, but its okay that he is not. He even tells u, why not und for me it was ok. Eder is for the watcher what Sam was for Frodo. Even if Frodo were a girl, i cant imagine a romance between them. So in my view it fits well for Eder not to be romanced.
