  1. One thing that helped alot for me was adding: Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1 under [Graphics Options] in the swkotor2.ini file But my game was never unplayable even on dantooine just slower then usual. I have a ati 9700pro which is pretty simmilar to the 9800 so it should help some at least...
  2. I disagree, something can be important for teh reader to know after a specifik point in the story, but would lessen the impact of the story if known to early. I think flashbacks can be both usefull and enjoyable. I make no claims to being an author, but I can definetly enjoy a good flashback sequence or paralell story arc.
  3. ^ Hehe I see Music of the moment: Dead Can Dance - Aion - Black Sun
  4. Nice to hear you think doing your own QA is important enough to spend money on

Yeah that would be nice but unfortunetly I don't think there is a big enough market for non violent cRPG's for it to be wokable on a comercial scale. But if there was a indy non combat rpg I would probably try it out if it didn't have horrible design that is... EDIT: drat you edited at the same time I posted...

Starwars feels like a problematic setting to make a game where you can choose if you wan't to use magic or not. The reason I think it is so, is that force users in Star Wars are more or less superheroes compared to normal non force users, so balancing a game where the developer doesn't know if the player will be a force user or not would be verry tricky. Of course you could simply make the game so that the force wasn't superpowerfull stuff, but then you run the risk of being attacked for changeing the setting to much... So while I agree that choise is generaly a good thing Star Wars isn't realy a setting where if would be practical to make a game where the player can choose if he wants to use magic or not.
  9. To adress your first question: Books have absolutely no choises and the reader still manages to relate to the story and the characters in it. At least I do.
  10. Why thank you for telling me your not interested in NWN2. Have a nice day....
  11. Haha good summary :D
  12. Yeah this is the movie of 2005!! Or it better be or I will be upset
  13. The developer+ not showing in listings is the way it has "always" been (at least as long as i have visited this forum) but if its a bug or a feature I have no idea since I never asked anyone in the know and instead just searched for the developer whos posts i was interested in....
  14. When talking a sequal, you look at the first game as a indication, you do polling of likely buyers, you compaire it to similar games sales wise. How do you think Bioware (for one example) came to the conclusion another expansion for nwn1 wouldnt bring the returns needed vs production cost? Its what all publishers do to weigh the pros and cons of developing a game. All I am saying is the data availiable I am aware of is the first game sales wise. And its sadly not good. If he knows of some other data that a publisher would look at then by all means point it out. But like it or not thats all a publisher is going to base their decesion on. Will it make a reasonable return for my investment. If the data present says no its very doubful a publisher will move forward. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I wasn't saying you are wrong and that plansescape 2 would be a instant megahit ... Just that demanding proof that a game will sell before it even starts preproduction, to even discuss it is demanding the imposible because noone can give proof of something that hasn't happened yet
  15. klart vi blir
  16. Im not saying that AI controll is the only true way. Its just something me (and aperantly some others prefer. There is no right or wrong way in choices like this. So when I said it give a truer roleplay feeling that is my opinion and not fact, but it's an opinion i will stick too.
  17. Damn those greedy romans for grabbing all the months... at least we norse/northern europeans got most of the days :D
  18. they are so insane!! damn I love their music .. it's the art of chaotic symmatry perfected! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agreed Mr. Bungle is superb although I prefer the first album to california (the one called simply "Mr. Bungle" that is...)
  19. Hehe good defence there Rhomal .... anyone who could give hard facts on how good any game would sell before it was published or even made would be scooped up by a developer as a consultant faster then you can say "how much"
  20. Right now: Nick Cave and the Bad seeds - Abattoir Blues, the Lyre of Orpheus - O Children.
  21. Of course AI controlled companions doesn't automaticaly make good roleplaying. But for me controlling multiple characters dillutes the roleplying since I can't concentrate on my main character as much. That being said it's not a huge deal and the roleplaying can be almost as good either way. And if you end up just watching the to good AI fight thats realy a issue I would blame on bad game balanceing and not on such genreal design decisions as AI companions or full controll of party. EDIT: maybe concetrate is a bad word for what I mean, what I mean is that if I have controll of multiple characters it feels mor elike playing some kind of demigod or invisible tactician and not roleplaying one person in the gameworld.
  22. Sure I have lost both my original fallout and fallout2 (resently bought the fallout multipack because I wanted to replay them and couldnt find my originals). I have also missplaced one of my four torment discs (solved that in a slightly more shady way). And I'm not sure where my BG2 copy is.... So yeah people loose game copys at least I do...
  23. Agree about Tigana being a superb book, didn't think fionavar tapestry was nearly as good.
  24. I think the lightsaber whip thingy is a joke refering to a old thread on this board....
