Yeah White Wolf has released "Vampire the requiem" and a new version of "World of darkness". Looks like an improvment from what I have seen, but still not one of the first games I would choose to play if I could ever get a PnP group together again...
  2. Wherent both versions of Kotor quite buggy? Also the lower pc score can easily be explained by the "been there done that" of having a later release. But that doesnt explain why the average is higher for console games then pc games, when looking at games that just come out for one platform.
  3. It might aslo have to do with consoles being a more "stable" platform so its easyer to make bugfree games so they dont get penalised for having bugs. *shrugs* other then that I dont know...
  4. If psionics was or wasn't a part of fallout is totaly irrelevant, (and yes i agree fallout is sci-fi an dnot fantasy). The question was "can you do fantasy without magic" I would say sure why not if it would make the world more memorable and enjoyable, something I think would depend alot of the rest of the world one was creating. Now what was the point of all the hysterics?
  5. Hmm I don't know how to make a button in Visual Basic... maybe thats because i have never even poked VB with a stick... we did our introduction to computer programing in SML. Too answer the poll im currently working on a master degree in computer science (or the swedish equalent) so I don't know why people avoid getting education.. maybe because the simply don't want to study and prefer getting a job that doesn't require a degree, dunno....
  6. I don't understand this fear of manabased systems. There is nothing in teh concept itself that says you have to be able to spam spells right and left, altho I can see that if your only reference points are CRPG's you might get that impression. But then again how many real CRPG's have been made with a mana system (as oposed to hackfests such as diablo). Personaly I would take a good manabased system over D&D's rigid spellslot system anyday. But then I dislike almost everything about D&D (levelbased, classbased, HP per level, to name just a few things) I also agree with Sawyer about Ars Magica havinga very good magic system. The thing that makes that system so nice is (among other things) the ability to improvise spells, so that magic feels likea truely inovative art instead of simply being a rigid gamemechanic to represent the fantastic. Unfortunetly this is something that would be more or less imposible to implement in a computergame.
  7. I must say that im my opinion the statement that vampires in VtM cant feel love is total bunk. Im pretty sure the oposite is stated in several of the sourcebooks (cant come up with quotes havent played the game in ages). What is true is that they have no interest in sex which isn't exatly the same thing.... So seduction might be possible if you think of it as trying to be charming, fassinating and so on... vampires would just fall for it for completely different reasons than humans (and yeah charedit is what i use when the console locks up)
  8. I voted other as I think the "majority" belong to the group "action gamers" meaning they like fastpaced games. such as sports games, FPS, RTS-games and so on... The importat thing isn't so much exactly what type as, how much effort it is to get started and how eventfull the gameplay is. In other words I think the majority are the casual gamers, and they want games that don't take a long time to get started with and can be played for just a few minutes at a time and still be fun. I base this asumption on the general feeling I get from looking at top 10 lists... EDIT: wtf why didnt my formating work when useing quick reply???
  9. What my exact favorite is i can't seem to make up my mind about but it definetly isn't one of those. In general a good world is more likely found in a book then in a game... For fantasy Steven Eriksons Malazan world comes to mind, but there are so many I like its hard to say if its "da best" )
  10. That so few games have co-op is one of the things that never made any sence to me. Most "it doesn't sell arguments" I can understand as true or at least imagine are true, this just isn't the case with co-op. Of all my friends that play computergames I haven't spoken to one single one that doesnt enjoy co-op and when discussing games one of the most common reacuring subjects is "why didn't they include co-op". So the reason why so few games do have it must be something else (or me and all my friends are the exception). But i can't for my life figure out what it is, so I would like to add my voice to the original poster about wanting counter arguments. PS: This is by the way coming from a person that can't stand any mmo-games (mostly because I think 1 in 10 people are idiots that are bound to ruin the game for everyone else).
  11. <tries to figure out how a lower back butterfly is more original than Celtic knotwork that quite possibly translates into something> Anyhow, my Fuzzy tattoo is gonna be more original than any of yours....except perhaps for Sirius' hand-drawn one, and Mith's T Sigil. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What would a tatoo be if its wasn't hand-drawn?
  12. Have one of a plant on my right arm but it's not finished yet so I don't have any pictures of it...
  13. Drive?? Hmm nah my own two feet are good enough for me, if they are to slow I can always take the bus.
  14. Sweden for me. Although I dont know how many game si will have time to watch.
  15. Ahh in that case it should do what you want... I'm still hopeing they will broaden it to include different models.
  16. The problem is that as the technology is implemented today that simply isn't posible as for SLI to work you need two identical cards. So using your old card together with your new one to compensate for not haveing enough money to get the flashiest new card out at the moment simply wont work. Unless you just buy a duplicate of your old card. Which you can only do once and then will be stuck with the same dilema again. In other words SLI would be a realy cool feature if it worked like you sugested, but unfortunatly it doesn't.... at least not yet.
  17. Although I agree that it's a pretty interesting feature. It's not that usefull as it is today since the two cards have to be the exact same model and preferably even have the same manufacturer. But if this feature could be expanded to range across defferent generations/models of nVidia cards it would be pretty cool.
  18. I have never understood this fixasion with point of view and game mechanics when desideing if something is a crpg or not. To me it has way more to do with story or more precisely with character choices within the story, in other words roleplaying as oposed to rollplaying. So i would definetly say that Bloodlines looks like a crpg. But then this has nothing to do with questions for teh developers so maybe I should just shut up now...
  19. Wow sometimes I impress even myself. I agree Alderan would be nice to see, so would Corelia (or however thats spelled). And btw i think endor is out of the question as we have that promise about no ewoks.
  20. Also they said that the reason it was hard to do was because the engine only uses the X (think it was 5) closest light sources when iluminating objects. Which made some scenes look very odd with lightsaber lighting enabled. So basicaly the problem isn't the "power" of the platform, but the engine itself.
  21. As far as I know the actual planet Endor has never been described (not that I know THAT much about star wars). But makeing an educated guess based on the seemingly normal gravity of the moon the planet itself would have to be HUGE. And hence my guess is it would be a gasgiant (and so not very fun to visit ). Oh btw, Hi everyone
