  1. I think it's an evolution of the adventure game genre. It sure felt like it had more in common with games like "Beneath a Steel Sky" than anything else. So I think it fits as an example of a landmark adventure game.
  2. Go to a reloading bench, highlight the ammo you want to make, press A and A again (or the xbox equivalent). Provided you have all ingredients of course. You probably will need to cannibalize other ammo types to get powder, led and primers. Which is done with the breakdown options in the end of the reloading bench screen. You probably need a few points in repair as well, not sure.
  3. o OS: Windows Vista or 7 (64-bit OS preferred, but not required) o Processor: Modern CPU (Core i7, etc.) o Memory: - 4GB of RAM minimum, 6GB or more if available o Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 280 or ATI Radeon 5800 series or better o DirectX
  4. Really? I'd thought you'd wait for the high end cards instead of the middle range ones? This would be the 5770 of the next generation, I doubt it'll perform much better than the card you already have.
  5. Where are you getting these numbers from? The only figure I can find says it sold 0,71 million on the XBox. Ports typically sell less on the PC, so I'd be surprised if it surpassed a million.
  6. Google for decrapifier if you want to get rid of all the pre-installed stuff that ships with OEM computers. Or spend a day uninstalling.
  7. I don't know. More of the same seems to work just fine for all the Halos, Call of Duty and Total War games out there. The only game I've heard that specific criticism against was Left 4 Dead 2, but that seemed to sell well enough regardless, so it doesn't seem like a great deterrent.
  8. It would, that is sort of the point of it. But if you're not scare of virus, then it's can be disabled. I have it on, but I have never turned down an install, so no virus has tried to install on my computer. So practically it's pointless for me, but I'm used to it by now so it gets to stay. @LadyCrimson In Vista, if you disabled UAC it was gone and you never had to asl for admin rights. If you turn off notifications completely in Windows 7, I think it works the same way. A colleague of mine said it did, so I think it does.
  9. Thanks. Now it's just a question if the collectors edition is worth twice the price of the regular one. Still,
  10. Isn't he saying he likes tactics more than the original games?
  11. Are you using tougher demogorgon? That's something I'd like to see on ironman...
  12. I approve of this post. A question, where did you manage to order a Collector's edition for NV? I've only seen regular editions in Europe so far.
  13. Will they keep the company management and research? If so, it can be an fps for me and it could still be great. Just stay away from the religious nuts from Syndicate Wars. I always hated them. Tactical combat play a la ghost recon would also be nice, but the research stuff is more important.
  14. You're forgetting Crom Fayer, aka superhammer. There is also a sling you can get that is +5 I believe (which is what I usually give Jaheira). Also doesn't Mace of Disruption coun't as +5 against everything or similar? It's been so long I don't remember.
  15. Killian really, really should be a halfling wizard/rogue. It was by far his favorite character type and it suits him really well. I certainly can't see him as an elf or half-orc. Or a fighter.
  16. I'll just have to throw Titan Quest into the mix. Wonderful game.
  17. I dug around on the Bioware forum and apparently this is true, which is great news. http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/14...064634&lf=8 http://dragonage.bioware.com/da2/info/ Except they're nerfing the top down view (it'll still be there, but won't go so far out), which has the potential to change how the PC version plays drastically (depending on how often you used the top down view. Personally I did it every fight).
  18. If he survived that origin maybe.
  19. I think only Gorth does that (also linking to the new thread in the last post of the old one).
  20. And in other DA news, Golems of Amgarrak has been released. A DLC where you yet again play the Warden. And it's supposedly high level, so awakening wardens are good. This I'll be getting in a few weeks.
  21. he explained exactly how he's extrapolating in the post you quoted. For ME2 he had the NPD from the US and the worldwide numbers. Then just applied the same factor for DAO (ie doubling the number). Also, 1 million copies sold != 50 million in revenue. I think EA sees half that or so. But yeah, 20-25 million is nothing to sneeze at either. but time is also a factor when it comes to DA2. They want it out the door fast.
  22. ME2 was a simultaneous release, just as DA2 will be.
  23. They had a great success with DA:O, so now EA wants to capitalize and get a sequel out the door with as little turnaround time as possible. So the game needs to be streamlined and stuff needs to be cut. This is why they're going with the dialogue wheel and this is why they're removing the top down view from the PC. Since a majority of the sales are on the console, adding features that are PC exclusive just isn't a viable decision given the tight deadline. This does not mean DA:O sold poorly on the PC, just that it sold better on the consoles, just like any other game with a multi-platform release will do these days. So yes, it makes perfect sense for them to focus on console play. I don't have to like it, but it still makes sense. So while the game may be developed for both platform simultaneously, it will still feel like a console port, much like Kotor and any Bioware game since did (except DA:O).
  24. Given the current backlash to their plans for the camera, if they are still working on the tactical view, the chance still exists they will realize the best fix it to keep it as close to the original as possible. but we'll see. Currently they're doing nothing to make me believe I'll like DA2 as much as I liked the first one. So I'll just have to wait and see how things appear closer to release. The only thing that's still sure is that this won't be an auto-buy for me.
