  1. NWN DID have a linux build. Just Tadahah, not NWN2. Because of directx. Embrace and extend. Vendor lock-in. Are the name of the game.
  2. Ah. The slaves of MicroShaft meekly obey the market leader. Its rumored that microsoft might be considering to run OpenGl in an "emulation layer" mapping to directx calls. Which is slower than direct hardware access. Thats convenient.
  3. The only experience i have with full voice acting comes from A) Thief I && II (Stellar) B) Gothic II (mildly bad, but not too embarassing) C) Grim Fandango (Orgasmic) Does this mean anything? No.
  4. Manipulative film. Impressive technique, i left the film more depressed than before (which was hard at the time). Bastards.
  5. There are so many crpg games that have been released that are beyond belief. Most responses are going to be similar, and those games are good. However, the five or so titles that keep popping up are not the end-all, be-all of great games. Think of it like movies.. if you ask a forum of people to name the movies to watch you'd get countless Star Wars, Godfathers and the occasion Hitch****. Other classics like The Maltese Falcon and The Tin Drum you probably wouldn't hear, but these oft-forgotten classics would be required viewing for an understanding of cinema. Darklands - My number one recommendation for anyone who asks. An epic historical rpg that came out over 10 years ago. I cannot use words to describe.. just play it! You'll be glad you did. Shin Megami Tensei - Dragon Warrior, Final Fantasy and Phantasy Star are all well and good, but Atlus' post-apocalyptic, heretical Megami Tensei series is an absolute must even for people who hate jrpgs. Since the two Shin titles on the SNES have been translated into english, there are no more excuses for not trying these out. Thats all I can think of off the top of my hat. Have fun. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes. I've played these three. Great games.
  6. Yoiiiu can doiwnloiaid tuituii, a moidi that alloiwis yoiui toii play bg1 uising the bg2 engine. This means that yoiui can play in higher res and have the new character oiptioins suich as kits and half oirics. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hahah. But i don't have Throne of Bhall, or TotSC see. And it doesn't work without them. P.S. It always pissed me of that the best armor in the game (BG1) required killing an innocent. Oh well, good roleplaying at least. And there is always the shadow armor, There was one that allowed spellcasting too right? Was it the green bugs armor?
  7. Maybe Gemrb could someday make those classes avaiable in BG1. That be a nice perk. Continue the good work Avenger.
  8. Betrayal at krondor fallout fallout 2 (nice work on the new patches) torment BG1 A few console games
  9. The charm spell has some unique hidden dialogue with some fairly important characters (that try to kill you). Try it. Its funny.
  10. In fact in FFVIII, your team is supposted to asassinate a foreign ruler. Final fantasy games are full of these sort of things. But i never considered the gits heroic anyway.
  11. There's a website that only hosts software that was given permission by the original developers. Its back to the roots. Should be easy to find in google.
  12. Xenogears. Bah. BTW Snes music players and links for playstation music
  13. Nah. Just common sense.
  14. Probably 1943 the batle for midway, in a spectrum. Took forever to load, and it was B&W. It was also impossible. and a funny thing about the game that i found while searching the name...
  15. I'd say i read all kinds of science fiction and fantasy. Space-opera is entertaining but so is social science fiction, military and hard sci-fi. For social-sci-fic my favorites run along the goal of what if scenarios of human societies, for example Ursula Le Guin, dispossed, left hand of darkness, Nancy Kress beggars in spain, C. J. Cherryh Cyteen and the like. for space-opera, there is lots of choices, but the undisputed queen of the sub-genre is Lois M. Bujold with the Barrayar series, but there are more, like Elizabeth Moon, the much different John C. Wright and (only in small doses) Peter F. Hamilton. I could go on with fantasy favorites (not Jordan/Eddings/Goodkind), but since i'm elocution impared i will not.
  16. Theres a neew patch for fallout 2 that fixes a few issues that 1.02 left. Installaction is tricky though patch thread
  17. Huh... Betrayal at krondor.
  18. Could be longer though. I ussually install some mod that gives more books, but then, i am used to read novels on-screen.
  19. You know. You could mention the thief missions repository if your're going to mention thief2x. Thief. The best fsp ever, and i can't play it. Damm that stupid intel codec.
  20. I have. Just once ages ago. IIRC it was just like the rest of the scenes. The better example of that sort is in the bath rooms, where you could see the shinra president doing an impersonation of a king, or in fact goin into the "sauna". Now that was wierd/explicit.
  21. I think that in the settings theres an option to put the movement relative to the direction you're facing. Its always a good idea to view a games settings before playing.
  22. The only game that i remember playing that had food was Betrayal in Krondor. I'm sure there were more but BaK rocked so damm hard, it's the only one i remember having food. I'm indifferent to food in games.
  23. Quantum teleportation only refers to the transportation of information, bettwen entangled atoms. Not the atom itself. So no teleportation, but maybe instantaneous communication. Maybe. In experimental condictions. For orders of magnitude less than nanoseconds. In fact possibly of no pratical application whatsoever.
