Japan.
Artists like Van Gogh were influenced by Japanese art. Those crazy easterners must have been doing something right. Volourn had it right when he said he smelt bigotry in this thread.

How many Japanese?
What are people referring to when they complain about Japanese games being "anime"? I mean it's like complaining that western games are too Hollywood. Take the Metal Gear Solid games (not RPGs). The only think about these games that has ever been described as "anime" is the strange assortment of boss characters. So if the only problem you have with "anime" games is cartoon characters with big eyes, you wouldn't have a problem with this game, but if you dislike Japanese oddity, then you'd probably be annoyed with parts of the game. Japanese RPGs and Western RPGs really are to very different beasts (and I'm ignoring the variations within them, afterall, ToEE is a totally different game to Bloodlines), but just because you like RPGs doesn't mean you'll like both. Ultimately I think if a particular type of game isn't your think, you shouldn't feel the need to keep trying them. So for Dhurin, I wouldn't recommend any JRPGs, as they simply don't seem to be your thing.

VtM: Bloodlines 1 Year Anniversary Q&A
I'm using the latest patch, and the only problem I know that it adds is if you go to the character screen twice in a row it freezes my game.

Game music
Yeah. You know, likes to hang out underneath old hospitals and eat people. Okay, so it's not Pisha, it's her alter-ego, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn.

Game music
I LOVE the Silent Hill soundtracks. All time favourite game music, by Akira Yamaoka. 3 and 4 even feature songs sung by Pisha.

How many Japanese?
It's not elitism when it's the truth! It's a simple fact that all Japanese games are RPGs where you play an angtsy teenager and all Western games are FPS where you play a mute macho hero.

How many Japanese?
I have more Japanese console games, but more American & European PC games. I have more PC games, but I'll be buggered if I know a percentage. As for the superior culture, that would be Mongolia.

Call of Duty 2
I played DX on realistic while back, and I recall getting a tranq dart without dying. Of course, if I wasn't using regeneration and medkits I would have been dead pretty quick. Has anyone tried the Shifter mod for DX? I played all the way through it, and then it screwed up my saves at Area 51. Grrr...

Do all FPS games have regenerating health now?
I agree completely with all of this. Two different reviewers play the same FPS. One needs to raise the difficulty level to get any enjoyment out of it, and claims it's too easy, the other lowers the difficulty level and claims it's too hard. Which reviewer is right? "Normal" is just the difficulty setting for the "average" player, not the One True Setting at which a game must be judged.

Do all FPS games have regenerating health now?
I know that I went through the game on Expert mode (Or whatever the highest difficulty in CoD2 is called) and I would have to duck behind cover for about 4-5 seconds before it would regenerate completely. Any less than that and the first hit would leave me with the near death red line around the edge. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I found the same thing. I died just as many times as I might in any other FPS. It doesn't at all give you invicibility like I heard people complain about before it was released.

^ What difficulty level did you play at?

Do all FPS games have regenerating health now?
Have you played the game?

Do all FPS games have regenerating health now?
I agree with that. I'd like to see something like it in a Deus Ex type game, or something like The Elder Scrolls. I didn't find the lack of health packs really changed the experience for me. Playing through on the hardest difficulty I found it pretty easy to die, so I never felt like some kind of superman. Left mre get down to the business of shootin' ****, rather than trying to keep my energy bar topped up. I played through the original right before I bought CoD2, and found that looking for health kits after battle was much more of an "immersion killer" (blergh).

Call of Duty 2
Man, this thread has turned into a great big pile of ****, or spam, whichever you prefer. Anyway, I actually enjoyed it, and I generally don't like WW2 FPS. The levels were much more open compared to the original. And what's this about broken up levels? The maps are no smaller than any current PC only FPS. As for blaming you pressing the wrong keys on the game... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That's like claiming a puzzle is stupid because you're not smart enough solve it. Being able to rebind keys isn't exactly new...

VtM: Bloodlines 1 Year Anniversary Q&A
I think it's hard to come up with the scariness in a game if you play a powerful hero. That's why the scares in Bloodlines are like those in FEAR, it's all scripted scenes that have limited interactivity. Haunting Ground is a good game for scariness, there are only 3 or 4 enemies in the whole game, but when you encounter them you have to run and hide, so when you encounter them it's "Holy crap I gotta get outta here...!!!?!?" instead of "I'll just blast/stab this think until it's meaty chunks."

I can't say I have any problem with regenerating health. It's no less realistic than running over a health pack and magically regenerating. In real life, if I get shot in the face, standing on a first aid kit is going to be just as useless as hiding behind cover for a moment. I quite like the system in Metal Gear Solid 3, with different kinds of injuries and needing different things to patch them up with.

Australians Try to Quell Racial Violence
In this particular set of events, I'd say no. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They certainly didn't help. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Alan Jones is really a seperate beast. Seems kinda cruel to lump the rest of the media in with him.

VtM: Bloodlines 1 Year Anniversary Q&A
I found the Cradle scarier than the Hotel. When going up the stairs in the first part of the Cradle, In the second part of the Cradle, I found the Of course this is all like a pre-school lesson compared to the creepiness of Silent Hill...

Australians Try to Quell Racial Violence
Especially when there are guys wearing shirts marked "Ethnic Cleansing Unit". I was amused when that guy claimed "This is what our grandfathers fought for!", referring to WW2. Yeah, our grandfathers fought so you could have a "Leb and Wog bashing day". For ****s sake. Bascially you've got two group of arseholes continuing the cycle of hate.

Yep. I also very rarely post over at TTLG.

Most underappriciated games
That's because you're crap. Don't feel bad, it's not your fault, you were simply born that way. Neither would I, but I'd definitely call it underappriciated. It's a damn shame the sequels will never happen.

VtM: Bloodlines 1 Year Anniversary Q&A
I was actually thinking of the Return to the Cathedral map in the original Thief. The old Hammer Haunts are creeptastic.

VtM: Bloodlines 1 Year Anniversary Q&A
Exactly, being so scripted it's just not the same again. It was definitely cool the first time around, although it's not on the level of the scary maps from the Thief games.

VtM: Bloodlines 1 Year Anniversary Q&A
The hotel was good the first time around, but repeats seem like a chore.
