  1. I didn't play my old PS1 games on the PS2 anywhere near as much as I expected, then again it was never really a selling point for me, rather a nice extra. I've got room for an extra old console afterall. The PS3, however, I believe is region free for games, and I assume this includes PS1 and PS2 games as well? If so, it would be great to get games that were never released in my region, providing they are still available to buy, of course.
  2. I feel exactly the same way. People have often said to me that in cases like this one, when guilt is not in doubt, there is no reason not to execute. The problem is that people are found not guilty or guilty, not not guilty, guilty, or really truly undeniably guilty. And as with the example you linked to before, it seems we can't be sure that the really truly undeniably guilty are really really truly undeniably guilty afterall.
  3. Why would you assume that? You really ought to know someone's view before you argue against it. Anyway, that's a whole other issue for another thread. I've never understood the whole "you just know in your heart that x deserves to die" argument. What if I just know in my heart that every human deserves to die? It seems to me to be more about maintaining an illusion of safety. Feeling better that there is one less "bad person" in the world, regardless of whether it changes anything or not.
  4. I am against the death penalty and in favour of a woman's right to have an abortion. Against the death penalty for the reason alanschu mentioned "The judicial system is not perfect, and can never be perfect. And unless it is perfect, I'd never support the death penalty." Pro-choice because I believe that until the child is born it is part of the mother and her choice on whether it is born or not. Nothing illogical or inconsistent there.
  5. I'm totally going to email this thread to Jack Thompson.
  6. The "sex as reward for romantic subquest Aerie pumps out a baby" type romances I can do without. I'd like something more subtle that changes how my allies feel about me and interact with each other and such. Sounds saucy. Pics plz.
  7. I thought it was pretty obvious I was joking. Guess not. It says so right in that guys post - a disgruntled former employee claimed they were using illegal software and the authorities investigated the claim with a ridiculously excessive show of force. That part of the story is old news, and I can only assume the claim proved false.
  8. Not really, people running cracked versions of Photoshop can get pretty violent.
  9. Has that been released already? It would make the perfect Christmas present for my mom.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It depends on where you are in the world.
  10. Runaway 2: The Dream of the Turtle.
  11. Does Karl do anything other than sign holding?
  12. ^ Sure they are, you're just a whore.
  13. SS will beat them all up. Anyway, I thought Beth was just the publisher?
  14. I agree with alanschu that DA was a step down from CT, though I really enjoyed the missions that took place in the terrorist's base. As for bugs - on one particular level the game would crash when trying to load a game while in the level, and a strange bug that made that night vision useless.

I remember Eldar (at least I think it was Eldar) in a thread on the Lair saying he was worried Alfonso Cuar

From what little I've read of the film, asking that it be done without many special effects is like asking Sin City be done without many special effects. The CGI isn't there because some producers thought "lets make a flashy effects movie the kids will love", they serve to create a specific style.
  17. Looks like female characters had at least double, if not triple, the poly budget of male characters in that game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> To be fair those two characters are (L-R) a stripper and a crazy [woman who isn't fussy... at all]. They need to be healthy in order to facilitate their respective careers/hobbies. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And to be even fairer those two females are main characters while the male is a nameless NPC.
  18. I just got done reading a thousand hours worth of Star Wars slash. I can feel my intelligence growing. Might be a tumor, though.
  19. Although Naomi Peters (pictured) is credited in the manual as the voice of Neeshka, she was actually voiced by Robyn Kramer, as credited in the read me.
  20. ^ I think Rebellion is the game that seemed like an Age of Empires mod. Anyway, it's not really "best of PC", so much as "a bunch of somewhat recent Star Wars PC games".
  21. Indeed. I don't care if a game sticks to old genre conventions or is some crazy hybrid, as long as it's good. And features ninjas. As for real time, I don't think it's so much that developers think it's better, as it is viewed as the default.
  22. I was thinking the same thing, because as you've mentioned, so far we have yet to see anything that hasn't been done before. Maybe it's nothing more then the fact that the graphics will match the gameplay this time around, as he has made the point of SS2 having low level graphics several times now. Of course I read the article imagining Levine's serial killer voice, so what sticks out most is the fear I have that I will wake up at 3 AM and he'll be beside my bed ready to stab me. As for the setting, I like the city under the sea about a bazillion and seven times more than and old nazi bunker. I find under the sea to be as scary and isolated as space ships of SS2, whereas being tucked away underground feels a hell of a lot safer.
  23. And a spammer.
  24. You won't be saying that when you wake up at 3 AM with a killer clown standing next to your bed.
