  1. And now they obviously have a deal with Microsoft and Sony, meaning they're swimming in money. And as everyone knows it's okay to steal from rich companies, especially if they sell overpriced ice-cream. Besides, it's not really stealing because you wouldn't have bought it anyway.
  2. If you upload a copy of a video game to the net so others can download it without paying, you're involved in video game piracy. Being an employee of the developer or publisher doesn't make it not piracy. If you steal from your employer, it's your employers fault. It's not fair publishers don't trust us and treat us like criminals with their invasive DRM schemes, but how can they be expected to trust gamers when apparently they aren't expected to trust their employees? lol gamers and their rationalisations.
  3. lol. Their speculation is nonsense but my speculation is TROO FAKTS! The fact is that it's impossible to know just what percentage of people would buy the game if a pirated copy wasn't available, and both sides will simply argue whatever works in their favour. What? So the copy that is currently available on the net is legit? Good to know. Crytek are so generous.
  4. Jean Reno is awesome, but Lance Henriksen's voice eats his voice for breakfast. Also, I am deeply in love with hurlshot. Why are all the good ones taken?
  5. This. If a person has reached such a low point that they are contemplating suicide, the message you want to send is yes, it's totally okay that you kill yourself, go right ahead? F**k you.
  6. I'm not seeing anything in those screens that suggests they're bullshots.
  7. Except this time it probably involves some kind of cyborg. Bioware has ruined everything.
  8. I have the same issue on PS3 with my dual pistols character. To play as Batman: TEAM: Hero MENTOR: Batman POWER: Gadgets WEAPON: Martial Arts MOVEMENT: Acrobatics
  9. These things aren't mutually exclusive. If you trouble to think about it maybe one of those bloody good reasons is that you did something wrong causing them to leave, or vice versa. It's important to recognise why the relationship didn't work if you want to find success in future relationships. It's like when people with failed marriages complain that marriage doesn't work. The institution is nothing without the couple in it, and it's one or both of those people that fail. Blaming the very idea of marriage just shows that you are unable or unwilling to accept what actually went wrong.
  10. Just got DC Universe Online for PS3, which is the first time I've ever bought an MMO.
  11. Nope. So that campaign is a lie? ?
  12. Well I painted myself into that corner. If an optional set of armour that with a name change and helmet switch probably wouldn't seem out of place at all is enough to taint the entire game world and it's lore then that's your loss. Its existence does no damage to the game or to Bioware, despite your ridiculous belief otherwise.
  13. Because all jokes are stupid and puerile.
  14. You're right I did read that wrong, though I still think you're jumping to rather ridiculous conclusions. It's like seeing a joke in a trailer for an otherwise serious film, and coming to the conclusion that the creators obviously treat the whole damn movie as one big joke. It's also important to point out that they haven't injected a gimmicky bonus into the game and expected players to welcome it, they've given players the choice to inject it into their own games. Whether you "welcome" it depends on whether or not you want to input the code. It is no such thing, this is a completely ridiculous thing to believe.
  15. You've explained why you don't like it, but it's still just a case of being something you don't like. The only fact you've offered up here is that you can choose not to use the item. This doesn't make any sense. You cannot feel so strongly about this issue that it damages both your view of the game and the company that makes it, and also have a hard time caring about it. I'm not buying Dead Space 2 so I won't be able to use this armour. I wouldn't use this armour if it was available because I think the helmet looks out of place. It won't exist in my game so it's a total non-issue. I don't care. Despite acknowledging that you can choose not to use this armour set, you have a problem with its very existence and have drawn a very negative conclusion regarding the developers based on its existence. You most assuredly do care. You seem to have a hard time not caring.
  16. It's creepy but not scary, obviously. Honestly though I'd call parts of that game scary, like the escape from hotel. Mind you a sequence like that can quickly turn from "awesome" to "annoying".
  17. I don't think it's possible to have a conversation about horror games without the whole "oh it's creepy but it's not scary" thing. The biggest scare I had recently was when I was playing Amnesia and my cat crept up behind me.
  18. Well, it's not stupid if you're a publisher, but it is stupid if you're a gamer Would you say the same thing if Oblarg had used the word "gay" instead of "stupid"? It's not gay if you're a publisher, but it is gay if you're a gamer? Nope, "I don't like it" is still a better fit than "it's stupid", "it's lame", "it's crap", "it's gay", or "it's slowtrain". I was referring to the Ser Issac armour, which is obviously something created specifically to be used as part of a promotion. I think Gromnir has hit the nail on the head. The publishers aren't stupid, the promotion isn't stupid, but some gamers feel cheated so they lash out.
  19. People are using "it's stupid" when they really mean "I don't like it". If this sort of promotion does the job the publishers want it to do then it's obviously not stupid.
  20. Actually I'm sure there are folks out there who will purchase DS2 purely for the extra stuff it gets them in DA2, just like there are folks who will purchase 10 copies of the same comic because they all have a different cover. Completionists like that though will always be in the minority and that's not really the point. The point of cross-promotion stuff like this is to advertise one game to those who so far were only interested in the other. To sell the consumer two products instead of just one. If people end up buying both games because of this form of advertising then it's doing its job, the specifics on how they came to make their choice isn't important. Edit: What Nepenthe said above. If you've already decided to purchase both games, then you aren't the target of this cross-promotion. If you're the type who prefers to wait six months after release in the hope a game will be cheaper, patched and available in some sort of gold edition then you aren't the target of pre-release promotions. DLC preorder bonuses exist to sway those who think along the lines of "If I put money down now I get more at no extra cost". If you're more the type to think "They're ripping stuff out of the game to sell back to me later", then you aren't the target of such promotions. You are not the target demographic, you are part of the target demographic.
  21. Ubisoft does something along these lines with it's Uplay system. You can earn points in Splinter Cell: Conviction, for example, to unlock extras in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.
  22. If the veritable forest of bigotry and bats**t insanity that is the comments thread is anything to go by, clearly the problem here is the Gay Liberal Black Mexican Government of California.
  23. As a video game fan I am the target demographic of all video games and if any marketing scheme doesn't work on me then it obviously doesn't work on anyone else and is therefore completely useless. Also the sun revolves around me while simultaneously shining out of my butt. How is this possible? Solve that mystery Obsidian Forum Community. Barbie Horse Adventures Crotchless Panties?
  24. I always thought hurlshot's face was great at flaming, but I was just too embarrassed to say anything.
