  1. The problem with Trigger Warnings imo is that your imagination is maybe worse then most content people demand it is used for. Which is sometimes stupidly benign things.
  2. Triggers... Guns have triggers... The word trigger triggers.
  3. Everyone will be expected to shut up now because of the harassing asshats and the guilt by association angle the media types are pushing. Shut up or you're complicit. No one will talk about anything which means the amount of asshats will not lessen. EDIT: TRIGGER WARNING! Huh, can't edit that post.

  5. What is seen cannot be unseen...
  6. I think this can be deeply humiliating and all around uncomfortable. But it's belittling actual sexual abuse.
  7. Again apply their own logic to them. This is internalized hatred just like the women that are not pro "collective Sarkissian" would be dismissed. They would be fine to not identify as gamers anymore if they can burn the people who disagree with them in the process.
  8. These people have no right to use the word "gamers" in this way just because they explain something or other. Because these are the same people that will start pissing acid if you use "women", "feminists", "SWJs", etc. in a similar manner. In their own views this is stereotyping that affects negatively the entire community which falls under the umbrella of the term in question. They know what they are doing perfectly well. So you can say "they've explained who they mean" but they know what they are doing between those lines. It is calculated to attack not just the minority of insult and threat tossing trolls but the people who disagree moderately. Because they can't attack them directly but hate just as much. It's doing so in a subtler more insidious way by attaching the negativity to all of us by association. When they drop blatant hypocrisy then maybe they can make claim to using "gamer" in such a way.
  9. For developers to be asking that. They should because it's a cheap and overdone trick, and for that specific example the world would not be worse off. But they shouldn't be intimidated to 'be inclusive' when they don't want to be. Not everything has to be targeted at everyone and if they want to make something that's just pure and base male fantasy they should without fear of the mob. Not a cabal of women and not any hyperbolic feminazi regime obviously. And they won't necessarily succeed any time soon. But a hostile atmosphere in the media where content is nitpicked and games get bad publicity for bull**** reasons by overcompensating social justice types where people aren't just weary of the aforementioned strip clubs but ironically enough even of complex and flawed female characters. I'm a big fan of a free for all. Want female centric content? Create a demand for it but don't police what others have.
  10. They have already exerted influence. The disproportionate fuss and outrage campaigns that these people are able to put up over 'problematic' content are probably now taken into account in at least some companies. Plus they can be downright gatekeepers when it comes to smaller indie devs that aren't these social justice snowflakes. EDIT: Here come the scam artists and opportunists: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/lawyers-against-gaming-corruption
  11. It would make Greco-Roman wrestling more popular, I support this notion. Ending of every match:
  12. In Anita's own words games are teaching men misogyny and they need to change. This is one of the main points she pushes. So, no, it's not just about having more games that are for women or both. It's also about feminist oversight of games that are for men, she wants games and other media to be your feminist nanny.
  13. Yeah. I guess I should have qouted the whole post. I meant whatever real flaws Thunderf00t has this video gets it right.
  14. Yeah, yeah... But he is right here about Joss Whedon and SJW logic.
  15. Thunderf00t's videos often rub me the wrong way but this is pretty good:
  16. I take offence at the inherent hypocrisy. Leigh would not do that to another "oppressed" group and would (ironically enough) label anyone a white male bigot if they do.
  17. Because the so called "objectification" is an integral part of the daily human experience and there is nothing special about the same in video games. Diversity of characters is another matter but nothing wrong with other characters just being there to create a specific atmosphere. What is so damn surprising or malicious that a game made by men aimed primarily at men is filled with nameless (mostly male) enemies to fulfil your power fantasy and scantily clad babes for you to ogle? I will say again no problem with people asking for wider representation and diversity of design. It's not like I don't want better games and more depth to storytelling and characterization. But policing which male fantasies are permitted and which are not is bull****.
  18. If you see a random pretty person on the street or TV and you go, "Wow." Do you then flog yourself you don't know who they are as a person?
  19. Classy.
  20. Basically the population that are competitive athletes. They have the same desires and work just as hard. Pretty good sample size to see development potential when all things are equal. Anyway I'm not saying any more on this as it's dragged on quiet a bit.
  21. *shrug* Personally I think the amount of women that are stronger than even the average healthy male is quiet small in proportion to the entire population. In my opinion this would turn out to be true if anyone counted.
