Well I suppose it is nothing compared to a certain conversation in Dreamfall.

Did not help Resident Evil 5. Also I think that's kind of been a thing for a while not just in games but in movies too. Zombies are the perfect dehumanized, yet in human form, fodder you can do with as you wish.

The best female characters will be done by people who want to do them for no other reason than the creator liking it that way. Not because someone needs to lecture you with a political message.

Why should they be concerned with it? Seriously why can't people just make what they want and if someone wants to make a thing out of concern for representation let them do that. '12 Angry Men' did not need a X% of women among them.

Like I've been saying they are straight up hypocrites and show it off blatantly given the chance.

Oh now we are using the word censorship. The irony.

And her face finally looks right unlike their first iteration. And sadly he may get his wish these days...

Cm Storm Inferno Those two small buttons, one to each side of the main ones, after getting used to them I cannot do without which is a pain in terms of finding a replacement. I use them for anything from switching primary & secondary in shooters, quckslot gadgets in Batman (very convenient), can get all Sleeping Dogs moves set to my mouse, etc. Wish more gaming mice were made with a larger number of conveniently placed buttons. If anyone knows of other mice with this set up let me know.

Oh I get it now. "The vidya gaemz made me do it."

I don't even remember. I think it might have been KOTOR 2.

Here is a similar one: This is basically the Jack Thompson argument. "Dem shooters are corrupting people".

It's kinda funny but in USSR people could sometimes get away with critical political messages easier than all the other stuff. There are a number of soviet movies that take the piss out of the system. But say sexualazation... forget it.
-
I lived, albeit briefly, in a place where entertainment was "socially responsible". It was called the Soviet Union. Apart from the known to everyone political censorship there was no cussing in movies, almost no graphic violence, nearly no "objectification" of anybody, and only "good" moral messages. A solid nurturing environment. It was great...

That was excellent read. In other news... well, actually it's still the very same news. TFYC is still being attacked by anti-GG side: http://socialjusticeviv.tumblr.com/post/98412304682/the-fine-young-capitalists-arent-actually-helping TFYC reply: http://thefineyoungcapitalists.tumblr.com/post/98422490495/a-response-to-social-justice-viv It really boggles my mind how these self proclaimed SWJs and feminist keep attacking an attempt to get more women in gaming industry. It really is, really, just what that TechCruch report said. Their own politics have become more important than ACTUALLY helping women. Funnily enough the girl who won is a feminist. Just a brief scroll down through her twitter to before this thing has her saying all the same things they usually say.

See again. The industry targeting women, great. People making games with female protagonists, different types of female characters, great. Great when that's their choice, when it's objective market forces, etc. Promote this, ask for this, create this market. Not great when you whine that someone has chosen to target men as opposed to women. Assassin's Creed or GTA or Dragon's Crown being made by men for men is not an "issue", is not "problematic", is not "misogyny". They owe you nothing.
-
Here is a thing about "why are you against inclusivity when it's brought up". I would actually prefer if the next Assassin's Creed protagonist were a woman. I would like to see more female protagonists. I was one of a the few (according to Bioware's own stats) people who played the female Shepard. But there is a big difference between me saying that and saying, "Oh no, Rockstar chose to do an all male cast for GTA. Rockstar you done WRONG!" It's that pro inclusivity crowd is too concerned with berating people and demonizing male specific tastes as sexist and in case of some corrupting the world. There are no other male options either. You are always Arno on your screen

"is good for everyone in the industry." Except for that guy who liked as is the thing that you forced to be changed "for everyone". EDIT:

I'm also tired of hearing the word "organized" when it comes to harassment. There is nothing organized there, it's completely sporadic. The only things organized are some of the GG podcasts. That and some people spreading boycott and mailing lists on their own initiative.
-
I don't see this unrealistic standard at all. From GG side people HAVE spoken against harassment, but we are talking basically about unfiltered internet here. Boogie mentioned above even stopped using the hashtag over it (still got doxxed for his efforts). The other side is basically a small clique of SJW journalists. Who demand in the first place that people police their own. Will they call on people not to doxx and harass on their behalf? No. I would go further and say they probably approve quietly of people losing their jobs for "supporting harassment" no matter if they ever actually harassed anyone or not.
-
Let me put it in non convoluted way: Harassment is bad. If you take a side and paint your opponents with the same brush and demand they take responsibility for random idiots on the internet speaking on their behalf. Then when this happens from your side you have to practice what your preach or your previous outrage is null and void and so is your moral authority. Period.
