Oooh, it's a pitched battle between the Repuglicans and the Spendocrats, but it looks like the House of Representatives may fall to the Dems as predicted, although the Senate looks out of reach. Looks good for the dems so far. Got Ohio, kept New Jersey, got Pennsylvania. That **** Santorum is most likely out of a job. More as it develops!

But I do get to wear the NW9 armor and hang out with Nevalle. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> why would you want to hang out with that whitebread lump? You're nutty

Hey, hey, the eyebrow / dancing combo can only be properly used with jokes of a sexual or ethnic nature.

And is it really smart to have 4 classes? You wouldn't be able to take advantage of the best abilities of any of them.

Was that the one that Tim Cain had a hand in?

The two romances I can think of are Elanee the druid and perhaps Shandra Jerro, I don't know about Neeshka. It should certainly be possible to play an amoral mercenary.

I haven't lost sleep, but I've gotten waaaaay behind on my homework

Level 18 with a Drow monk, which means I got to 20 and pwned you all. The last level up happened during the last battle. You could say that. It's very possible that it was a reciprocal deal. She gives you a greatsword, and you give her a little bit of the greatsword know what I mean? yeah!

My, I've never seen such fertile soil for enlightened rhetoric and debate

I don't think Jack Thompson is a "leftist".. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Who exactly is Jack Thompson? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Jack Thompson, the one man who protects innocent, pure American children from the foul corrupting touch of violent, obscene, trashy video games. Obviously, a weak liberal relativist in every sense of the term.

Where'd you hear that? o_O I found the loot progression to be pretty seamless. Of course, you'll find just +1 daggers at the beginning, but by the end you're not finding hordes of +5 greatswords. Like BG2, the vast majority of the enchanted items you'll find are +2, with slightly more +1s at the beginning of the game and +3s at the end. But it's not like the original NWN, where the scaling is obvious. As far as difficulty goes, there are certainly difficult fights (the party AI doesn't make things any easier ) but there's never anything that's impossible, just so long as you're given the chance to buff a bit beforehand, which is always the case. But there are plenty of fights you'll end up reloading for, especially when you've got the rare spawning enemy groups and especially enemies with constant ability drain and fear tricks, as I've found. Save aplenty. I found the sense of "early game" is lost just about as soon as you get out of West Harbor and start moving north. When you get Khelgar and Neeshka and you've got what could pass for a party, the game really starts.

Also: Being white and thus being unable to even hint at the slightest ethnic joke <{POST_SNAPBACK}> **** that. An Irishman walks onto a building site and asks the foreman for a job. The foreman is a little wary, so decides to test him, asking him, "What's the difference between a girder and a joist?". "ah, well, that's an easy one", the Irishman replies. "You see, Goethe wrote Faust, and Joyce wrote Ulysses". Or how about this one: An Irishman walks out of a bar. ... It could happen.

Fight Fight Fight Blood Blood Blood yeah, that's the stuff. So, was anybody else underwhelmed by the ending? Anybody? If it's not blatantly obvious, I'm now having a hard time distinguishing between the NWN2 discussion thread and the NWN2 impressions thread.

I'm glad the eyebrows made it in. Now I can tell off-color jokes with aplomb. you know what I'm saying? yeah, you know what I'm saying yeah yeah.

In NWN2, the AI has a number of problems, so letting it go can be difficult. On the other hand, the nature of the combat makes round-by-round management a chore. Hey, new smilies. More like jew smilies, amirite?

Volourn's Wowwy Journey With NWN2:Spoiler Edition
Pop replied to Volourn's topic in Computer and Console
I didn't find the gnome to be as grating as I thought he would be. In fact, there wasn't a joinable that I came to hate this time around. But I have to admit, I thought that Khelgar would have dual-classed, instead of completely switching out classes. I suppose it makes more sense from a game perspective, as a fighter12/monk6 would be pretty weak. But it still seems odd. In fact, I don't know how simple training would elevate anybody to 3rd level, let alone 11th or 12th, in the case of Shandra, who had never fought before. I beat the game as a drow monk, all upstanding-like. Started out as LN, ended as LG. -
HOORAY I bestow this award upon myself, and anybody else awesome enough to have completed the game. Now all we have to do is sit around and wait for expansions. And mods. AND new official projects. If there is indeed a Vamp game in the works, that would be glorious, because the more time passes the more I appreciate how great Bloodlines was.

So at least we can be assured of another game from Obsidian. Maybe two. Not that it wasn't obvious before, but you know. It's still nice.
-
So you've never encountered a good RPG romance? I thought parts of the BG2 romances were really good.

The ironic thing is, campaign finance laws drafted with noble intentions in mind made this possible, or at least made it more common. Parties and candidates realized they didn't have to be accountable for what they wanted to say or do. Sure, it's reprehensible. But is it illegal? And if it isn't, are we prepared to make it illegal? How would you word that law so as to not cross the first amendment?

You know, I'm not honestly sure how long I've really sunk into the game. Seeing as how I don't have a job, I'd probably clocked in about 6-8 hours a day in since Wednesday, which puts my grand total around 30-40 hours, and I'm probably 2-3 hours from the end, in my estimation (I could be wrong, of course) In other news,
