  1. That’s true, but that can be achieved in many other ways as well. Also “skills” if such will exist will quite likely have different role to play then in PoEs. It is seems to be action RPG, so I expect imput driven combat, rather then RNG driven combat. How Avowed systems will work, and if they will take much or any inspiration from PoEs is something I am most curious about.
  2. Nothing much else in known, and is agree that the game could be many things. The “skyrim” comparison comes from Fergus who wanted to make game like that for a while now. We just assume it is that project, but what “skyrim-like” means is still to be revealed.
  3. Nah, I don’t think so. Dyrwood and it’s conflict is far too defined. We also have a game set there. It would give creators more freedom to explore other parts of the world. If it was the War of Black trees Aedyrian soldier would be fighting the Glanfathans, not an invasion of vessels. Narration and flags clearly reference the Woedica, as well as inscription on the sword (Oathbinder). Also the statue doesn’t fit Dyrwood to me. It’s far to grand - suggesting a more powerful and older empire, My money is still It being Aedyr.
  4. And they keep going after penetrating an enemy. And they say that PoEs are overbalanced...
  5. Like? So far I see no indication that it’s connected in any tangible way to PoE. it’s definitely too lush for rauatai I would say.
  6. Yeah, but there is still another one. But with how much time passed between OW release and DLCs it’s difficult to say when narrative team was/will be done with those. I don’t expect Avowed anytime soon. Essentially we have seen the same amount as Elder Scrolls6.
  7. Interesting interpretation. For now, I don't see an indication that there is an opposing Kith faction - thought it is not impossible. All we see are hostile vessels, and whatever Balrog is hiding there at the end doesn't sound like a Kith. I wouldn't necessarly put our protagonist on anti-woedica train because of his sword, thought it most likely has relevance. Looked a bit for Animancy and Aedyr history and found only this, which is more or less what I remember:
  8. That came to mind to me yesterday "Ooo! What if we play as Thaos!". Here where it seems unlikely to me (we could meet him though if it's a prequel!). Thaos predates gods, and if it is a relatively recent or contemporary (to PoE series) Thaos would already be immortal and in service of Woedica. Supposively, in the time when Thaos would interact with gods for the first time Aedyr wouldn't exist yet as such. As Aedyr (or whatever country it is) is already very dedicated to Woedica Inquisiton must have taken place already, so Thaos has been active in his role for some time.
  9. Aedyr as the whole seems very much dedicated to Woedica. Steel Garrote, as a protagonist's identity is a possibility, though my gut feeling tells that's not the case (my gut feelings aren't the most reliable). What about Arcane Knight? - the thing Aloth trained for. Melee and magic and stuff. Though if going by PoE2 multiclassing, one could very much be Steel Garrote pallading and Wizard resulting in an Arcane Knight. Avowed doesn't advertise itsels as PoE title (nothing in title, no que in music) so I would be surprised if there were a strong, direct connections to PoE1&2 (such as the Watcher). I expect it to be a stand-alone IP. Woedica's fall or post PoE2 seem the most fitting possibilities IMO when it comes to timeframe - danger coming either from other God's attack on Woedica and her faithful, or breaking the wheel completely messing things up. Naturally, myself I champion the first option, as that wouldn't erase the possibility of PoE3 happening at some point in the future. I don't think Animancy had enough time to flourish in Aedyr - from what I understand the practice was outlawed after one disasterous experiment. Considering how dedicated to Woedica Aedyr is, I find it unlikely she would allow animancy to be developed for long enough time to create an army of monsters.
  10. And it's 1st of two narrative DLCs. I don't know if "narrative" is just a descriptor of the DLCs for Outer Worlds, or if it suggest that there will be non-narrative DLCs as well, on top of those two.
  11. That all sounds great, at least on paper. Looking at specs it seems a bit high for me, but I might give it a go once I finally deal with Pathfinder and see how it runs.
  12. Desire to make PoE into Skyrim-like isn't new, though I was worried that PoE2 poor performance killed Obsidian's drive to nurish the IP. https://www.pcgamer.com/obsidian-ceo-id-love-to-turn-eternity-into-more-like-a-skyrim-product/
  13. I can't say I see a point of a class system in an FPS (read: not team based) RPG. The very point of classes is to limited what individual character can do, and force cooperation... EDIT1: Looking at the trailer I wouldn't be surprised if our role wouldn't be to some extend defined - it's very much seems we are dedicated to Woedica.
  14. That's one of the games I didnt' get around to, yet, though it's sitting in my library. I hear it had performance issues, so I am worried I won't be able to run it. But then again, I seem to be able to run far more, then I think I can. My guess would be pre... It is not called PoE3, so I would be surprised if they would continue PoE2 storyline in Avowed. The vibe I get is that Woedica is still very much in power. I would love to see Eora when Titans were roaming the earth, though I don't expect it to go that far. EDIT: Perhaps, it is the story of her fall? Seems like we are dedicated to Woedica and other gods making an aggressive take over might be a good excuse for us to have lots of things to fight against. It might also fit the narration... and if popular, it might Act as a good lead up to PoE1.
  15. Not for a melee combat, that's for sure. The only FPS melee person I played that wasn't bad, was Arcanum stuff - mainly thinking of Messiah of Might&Magic.
  16. Forests and Woedica related flags would strongly suggest it. The question is when. After PoE2? Before Woedica's fall from power? Time of Titans?
  17. More coming. Excellent. Looking forward to picking it all up once it's out on steam or gog Edit: If it weren't confusing enough
  18. I wonder if similarity between arrow and DS bonfires are purely cosmetic, or suggest some bonfire mechanic:
  19. Yakuza: Like a Dragon english dub trailer
  20. Yes, guns in M1 had lots of recoil and controlling Tommygun took some serious aim correction. This looks like a standard covershooter, however health doesn't seem to regenerate? That's something at least. Expected - M1 didn't play well on consoles from what I hear. Too bad I liked it's gameplay on PC more then M2. Something I am positively surprised by is language. Mafia1 has a PG writing and was clearly not authentic, which I felt gave it a more charm and allowed to get away with a lot silly things. M2 went for more authentic Scorsese feel, and IMO only underlined how poor it's story and characters were compared to films that inspired it.
  21. I finally picked up Styx2. Really really liking it so far. I had mixed feelings about Styx1. Controlls were a bit iffy and it run out of steam rather quickly. Unlike S1, I am playing S2 with a controller, which might be why it plays so much better - S1 had a definite console port feel to it and felt clunky and unprecise with M&K. We shall see if S2 will manage to stay fun all the way through. So far, it's been a blast though.
  22. It's started as brilliant "E3" parody. I am not quite sure what it is now.
