  1. DVD's tend to flaw more from what I've heard. Then again I haven't heard very much. And my KOTOR 1 CD is going all weird now. Almost every load screen it minimizes (at least on every cutscene). It's horrible.
  2. Have you guys ever heard of Supersize Me? Anyway, following my tradition of saying at least one on topic thing per post, I think each person in the crew should be doing something when you see them.
  3. Well KISS sometimes look like aliens... Anyway to try to make an on topic comment. Here goes, I think that the worlds should have things more spread out with a means of rapid transport between really spread out areas.
  4. All those discrepancies I noticed were Taris, Manaan, and Tatooine within the span of less than a month. Not an era difference if it was my post you were refering to.
  5. We've had conflicting images of Swoop Racing. Sometimes it's a gang race under bridges in the lower levels. Othertimes it's a semi-wilderness race and other times its done on water.
  6. I guess if you include the SW pnp games you have more, but those aren't CRPGs obviously. They aren't jedi oriented, but that doesn't support anyone's point as we both know that neither of us is talking about PnPs. I hope that they make alot more CRPGs in this world... We have so few theme based CRPGs. In fact SW is the only major and famous theme an RPG has used that I can think of (D&D and Forgotten Realms don't count),
  7. Whoa, the game didn't seem like that when I looked. Are you thinking of the movie Attack of the Clones?
  8. And hades how many SW games are in that genre? I think one is a good number. You can't complain every SW game in the genre is jedi biased when there's only one of them. Well, you actually can complain and I know you will, but there's no substance to that complaint if there's only one. Unless you consider Galaxies a rpg? In that case there's a non jedi rpg (galaxies is a MMORPG).
  9. He has the looks of an especially hard sub-boss. Someone who doesn't really matter that much but fights you and is hard. Maybe the hardest bosses's minion. He better not be the main boss because that idea is very cool for a minion but lame for a super evil boss. I to and dubious of this until confirmation is given, but thanks whoever started the topic.
  10. Ender, we're on the same side here, so I'm sorry to have to say this. Isn't Clone Wars jedi based?
  11. This game is a representation of the jedi not the entire SW universe. It focuses on and around the jedi. That's why they're so prevalent. Other SW games don't have the saber as omnipotent (this game doesn't either in some situations actually). Also Icebox, you can't have a negative strength. I was pointing out the impossibility of 20-30 hits per door. I forget the minimum. Maybe 3? What I'm saying is 20-30 hits would destroy 5 doors. Assuming that you get 4 hits on a door you probably do 3-17 damage (assuming 12 str). That means you'd do around 10 damage per hit. That would kill the thing at a maximum (this is assuming no special crystals btw) of 5 hits (unless you are the definition of unlucky and then it might take six hits for a door). It should take 2-3 hits per door even as a consular.
  12. Wow, I've always gotten extra money from him. Anyway, Swoop Races I think should be more like actual races. Thus they would be both harder and easier (in different areas), more interesting, longer, more different tracks, and with higher potential gain.
  13. we all knew what you were saying.
  14. Not only that! It would be nice to slice people open with the lightsaber, see their heads roll. That would be awesome. This is not designed to be a M game. Icebox, ever placed GTA? From what I've heard I'd think you'd like it.
  15. Firstly that's not what SW is about. Jedi are the most popular in the SW universe and thus everyone focuses in on them. Not all games are about jedi. Look at prettymuch every SW flying game, DF 1, I think commando (don't know much about it) and that other SW strategy game. Besides in Galaxies, Jedi are not the focus. This game is Jedi oriented. This is one of the few SW games about the jedi. Note the title. Knights of the Old Republic.
  16. Hades, if they listen to what we say at all they will make the max difficulty really hard (btw I have only dabbled in KOTOR 1 hard mode is it hard?). If they listen to anything on this thread, difficulty is probably the most commonly demanded and easiest to implement of all.
  17. The faster you go the less safety there is? How about that?
  18. Just curious, but why was KOTOR 1 a 2-3.5 year long project (not completely sure how long) while KOTOR 2 is going to have been under development for around a year? Also, why was KOTOR 1 announced (with forums and a offical page up and running) when it was barely started why KOTOR 2 was almost done when these things were done? I'm just curious (not critical or supporting of anything here).
  19. the MMORPG industry is hurting itself. THere are so many new ones coming out that no one knows what to get so alot of people get confused and thus don't get any at all.
  20. You'd have to have a negative strength and be flicking your fingers at it to take 20 hits. No, I'm not talking about a negative strength modifier, I'm talking about a negative strength.
  21. What is the pit maneuver?
  22. The other issue is Lucasarts. I doubt they will let Obsidian make the game more hardcore. It's debatable, but this game should probably not go to a hardcore CRPG if it wants to be successful. Lucasarts has good reason. I mentioned this somewhere earlier to someone (I think Hades actually), but KOTOR is successful because of its appeal. People who aren't neccessarily enthusiastic about rpging or hated the BG series (simply because of gameplay style) liked. I'm not saying if I like it or not, but KOTOR has managed to appeal to a whole new group of gamers and that allows it to outsell many CRPGs you guys would probably consider better. Really, who bought the BG series who didn't like rpging already? Most of the games mentioned here are for rpgers. KOTOr isn't just for rpgers, it's for people who have never picked up a ten sided die in their life.
  23. I have been thinking about stuff and have decided that I'm probably not going to min-max. I'll probably boost most of my non force stats to at least three.
  24. Exactly. It would also make swoop modification/upgrades be more essential if you have a longer track/straightaway.
  25. I'm probably going to go obsessive like i did over kOTOR 1 and beat the game 6 different files doing all the sidequests with 20-25 hours each. LSM or LSF and then the other one. I have more fun playing LS as DS manages to sorta depress me (it's a good game when doing the evil thing can depress you). Then again DS might be more fun if you can be sinister, not a stupid thug.
