What about a chanter? They can easily be played as a spell slinging melee class... Build them like a tank, or like Boeroer's last unicorn. If you find chanting and not "active spellcasting" too boring (which I completely understand), you can do the following: Don't drop Dex (like most chanter tanks would), and mainly (maybe one exception for dragon wailed) use level 1 chants. You see, the chanting speed actually increases with level. This is important because it means if you only use lvl 1 chants (very short duration), after some level you can start actually focusing on the chanter spells in a spam-ish manner. And those are very worthwhile, trust me. Here are a few that sound pretty good, and are also quite useful in game: making corpses explode, summon a ghost (well... Not technically), paralise all enemies in front of you, make ice bolts shoot around you, call a tornado to bash into enemies, some very very useful self and party buffs (with a nice wedding theme going on), and of course summon a dragon (well... Drake). Oh, and two ogers. And a flower that will controll every enemy it hits. Sound about right? EDIT: thinking about it definitely draw inspiration from Boeroer's last unicorn... It's in his chillfog thread, which you can find on AndreaColombos new builds list. It's basically a two hander melee chanter. Granted, it's themed around ice, but a little firebrand here and there never hurts.

Definitely take blast for the wizard, and make him use Gyrd Hawenes... It is extremely useful. Extremely useful are also the minor blights with blast. For a barbarian frenzy, greater frenzy, savage (or even stalwart) defiance are amongst the best early talents. If you go for a damage dealing barbarian, you can even drop con a bit... The barb has a huge health pool, do it can handle that easily. Early on, low deflection and accuracy will be problems but it balances out very well. Heart of Fury is one of the best barbarian abilities. It attacks every enemy that is standing around you, and every attacked enemy triggers a carnage attack. In a large mob, this leads to huge damage numbers. Because HoF is a full attack, it also makes dual wielding a popular choice for barbarians since it means two HoF attacks on everyone and everything (except for allies). The sabers Bittercut and resolution are still some of the best barbarian weapons. Dragon leap also has a nice synergy with HoF: jump in the middle of the mob + HoF = Profit For the devil you could give her a small shield (I like using the supper plate on her) and a one hander (I like using nightshroud) to make her a riposte-centred rouge tank. She is especially useful as a tank due to vessel immunities.

Hey come on... Both systems are flawed. I'd say we should listen exactly and take the best of communism and capitalism into one

Adding to that, I feel like there is also a reason why people (in general-I don't know if this also applies to Poland, but I'd guess so) usually rather resort to right extremism than left extremism: Right extremism is largely based of dogmatic thinking. That there is us, we are the best , and others want to take that away. Left extremism on the other hand is (often) based of Marx and Engels, and thus an economic theory that requires some time to fully understand. More so, you lack the "I am great", since the goal is to make everyone equal. I see two reasons why right extremism is more popular than left extremism: 1. It's way of thinking is much more easy to understand and adapt, it is more mass-able to say so 2. It's much more pushed by immigration. If there are many immigrants and a lot of natives are poor, it is very easy to abuse that situation and blame the immigrants. Left extremism on the other hand blames the elite and the system, but it is often much more easy for people to blame someone who is not them.

Anyway, maybe it's not all to bad after all.... Maybe German trade could benefit. We still have a lot of school books from the 30s and 40s, maybe we could adjust them a bit and then sell them to Poland.

Excellent question Because I just heard a feature on how that developed on the radio, but I felt like I needed some sort of source. After all, that is a for some surely hard to believe story.

If anyone wonders about the sources: http://mobil.n-tv.de/politik/Patriotismus-als-Schulfach-article184631.html Sorry, I'm on the phone. Feel free to translate if you don't believe me. Google translate does an okay job

As you may or may not be aware, right now a rather.... Conservative party is in power in Poland. As of now, the polish government said it would want to introduce "patriotism" as a school subject, since "history" does "not educate the children enough in a patriotic spirit". What do we think of this? Personally, I think it is disasterous. Patriotism on this scale easily leads to nationalism, and I regard nationalism as a very dangerous mindset to have. It is also very worrying that this is happening in a EU member state.

Hey, I wanted to quickly expand this thread, but nothing happened. This might seem odd, and here I am to say sorry. so at the moment my real life is taking me over. People rely on me and I'm not planning on letting them down, so this thread sadly needs to wait. Now, if anyone feels like adding something, then please do so. Anything will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Why Political Correctness (Cultural Marxism) Must End!
Ben No.3 replied to Valsuelm's topic in Way Off-Topic
German Wikipedia, as it wasn't available on English: "Cultural Marxism (Kulturmarxismus) ist ein politisches Schlagwort der US-amerikanischen neuen Rechten, das eine angebliche Verschwörung der „Linken“ beschreibt." translation: "Cultural Marxism is a political expression [invented] by the US-American alt right that the describes a so called conspiracy by the "left" ". Quite enlightening- 164 replies

The wiki is horribly outdated. Use game banshee.... About your wizard question... What do you mean by a classical offence wizard? Really don't know what you mean by that... ranged? spell weapons? help me out, and maybe I can help you. There are some items that give a bonus on mechanics, gloves of manipulation give +2 and the resourcefulness belt gives +15 trap accuracy. There are also scrolls for that. Remember that items boni are added to the end stat. So. if you have 10 mechanics and get the gloves, you will have 10+2=12 mechanics. On the other hand, the class and background boni add to your base value. I explained that on my guide I believe... basically means that they are giving you "free" points. For lore... It is difficult. I personally would say scrolls of moonwell are very useful to have on every caster, and scrolls of revival on the toughest tank. So my party is always fairly educated. But ultimately, it is a matter of taste really. In the crafting menu, you can take a look at all the scrolls, and then you should just evaluate for yourself.

As an awful person, I'm here to recommend against donating to the Catholic Church and any of its institutions. The smallest amount of money will actually go to charity. I've got a graph here to show that, and the source is this economist article http://www.economist.com/node/21560536 Sorry for the poor quality.... It basically shows that not even 5% of the American (USA) catholic church's annual spending goes to charity

Why Political Correctness (Cultural Marxism) Must End!
Ben No.3 replied to Valsuelm's topic in Way Off-Topic
I'm not trying to combine communism and capitalism in the way you are thinking. I'm looking at what each can offer to society, and I take the best from each into one system. I do not perceive this as a binary choice- 164 replies

Why Political Correctness (Cultural Marxism) Must End!
Ben No.3 replied to Valsuelm's topic in Way Off-Topic
wait, what? You lost me there... Are you seriously saying that Marx and Mussolini both followed the same ideology only in different times? No. As the etymology of the word describes, it is the voicing of an opinion that goes against the current political dogma. In the 80's and 90's it was fit to call it a form of fascism because of the conservatives in the US enforcing moral purity everywhere. Today it is political incorrect to go against equality. Isn't going against equality against the very foundation of the US? "That all men are created equal, that they have been endowed by their creator with with certain unalienable rights" and so on.... Going against equality is a much more serious issue than the overuse of political correctness What you think qualifies for equality has nothing to do with what political correctness is. I think "equality" in this context means that all humans regardless of gender, race, social class, religion, personal beliefs, past, sexual orientation and identity and whatever other differences there might be should be considered equal, but please do explain to me what your definition is You are confusing equality of opportunity with equality of outcome. The former is freedom, the latter is oppression. In the US we have true equality of opportunity. Anyone can go to college. Anyone can start a business, anyone can become anything the want to be, or at least try as hard as they wish to. Not everyone is willing to do what it takes, and even doing it is no guarantee of success. The latter by necessity reduces everyone to the lowest common denominator. There is no motivation to work harder, innovate, invent, or anything. It will get you nothing the guy sweeping the floor doesn't get and he didn't had ve to work near as hard for it. As you an Marx pointed out we need superior human being who don't want. We're humans, not ants. It's a great system but it's not for humans. YES!!! But it is no binary choice... It's not either communism or capitalism. We should combine the best of two worlds. Wouldn't you say? A free market, but with enogh regulations to disable the creation of an extreme two class system. laws that protect workers. Equality of education as in free schools and universities. Free healthcare. Welfare for those who lost their jobs. And again, all of this embedded in a free market.- 164 replies

Why Political Correctness (Cultural Marxism) Must End!
Ben No.3 replied to Valsuelm's topic in Way Off-Topic
Highly recommend "Drive" by Daniel Pink as a nice starting point. He sums up and points to a lot of research regarding intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and how they affect algorithmic and heuristic tasks differently. I like to think that the reason Marxism off-shoots haven't worked is because they started from points where everyone's poor. Now people being under the poverty line is seen as a problem, not the standard so it's possible that western civilisations could make it work. The real test will be once a country or larger area decides to adopt the "basic income" idea. If that doesn't work, going steps further won't either. For all my cynicism and snark about current society, I wholehearedly believe we can solve it and we shouldn't be held back because "it sounds like this, and that didn't work before". We two will get along excellently- 164 replies
