  1. Akari addresses this in "Weekend Programmer #3". He answers a lot a questions that are on this thread there.
  2. I don't think it would be Juhani. Akari said this in Weekend Programmer- On the right track... I might point out that the NPCs that may appear in the game may be affected by how you answer the questions near the beginning that explain how the first game's story went for you... -Akari <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  3. But just because that someone is under the influence of the dark side doesn't make them stupid. Malak knew enough to be Reven's apprentice. The way the Sith work, you are to submit to the stonger Sith until they are no longer stronger then you, then you attack them. You don't just become a student at Korriban and go out and try to kill Darth Reven.
  4. I remember one of the Devs saying long back that they couldn't look back on saved games form KOTOR because KOTOR wasn't desinged for it.
  5. Thank you. They said "he" for language purposes - I don't think that it had anything to do with your character.
  6. I think KOTOR II will be here by Christmas (Dec. 25). I don't think the Lucas Arts site would change it form "Feb. 2005" to "Winter" if they didn't plan on pushing it up to Christmas. Lucas and his company are building up to the release of Ep. III next year. It kicks off with Battlefront and the OT on DVD this Sept. They then have to more cards to play - KOTOR II and Republic Commando. They want at least one in the Christmas rush. Commando has more to do with Ep. III, so I think it will be the one released next year. They need KOTOR II in Dec. to keep interest. Besides, I think KOTOR II would get more sales that Commando in a Christmas full of many high profile games.
  7. I really think the color thing is getting out of hand. I remember watching Star Wars when I was little and knowing red was bad and blue and green were good (I also noticed, although I don't know if it was supposed to be this way, padawans (Luke) had blue and knights and masters (Obi-Wan and Luke after he was trained) had green). But then the Ep I and II came out and mixed it all up. Samuel L. Jackson convinced GL to give him purple and Darth Maul gave us the double blade (which I think is really overused - isn't supposed to be really hard? How can a padawan like Bastila handle it?). I just stay with blue, green, and red when I play KOTOR (and only one blade). But I know there is a bunch of you out there who want your double bladed aqua or orange. Some call me over-the-top, but that's what I think (and before you tell me, I know there were other colors and more double blades in the EU, I was just talking about the real Star Wars - Ep. IV - VI).
  8. I wasn't that happy about getting the Hawk again either, but I think Yoda's right with this one.
  9. yeah, in some article some where it said something about different fighting styles
  10. During the battle between the Jedi and the Droids, one of the Jedi jumps into Dooku's balcony. Fett shoots at the Jedi and the Jedi falls out of the balcony (I would assume he died, he didn't look like he was going to land on his feet). The segment is only 15 or 20 seconds long, if even that long.
  11. You (or whoever said that) hit the nail on the head. I believe that is how the Star Forge would be destroyed if you say Reven took the dark path.
  12. As I said before, I just thinks it detracts from the first game to have the ultimate weapon destroyed by a weak Republic that couldn't destroy it in the first game.
  13. I know KOTOR II isn't here yet, but they started it before KOTOR I was out, so it won't be all too long before KOTOR III gets started. Which make me wonder about the story a little. I think you may end up being the "last known Jedi" again (or at least, one of the few left) in KOTOR III. In KOTOR II, we know you are one of few Jedi left. Either you can be light and destroy Sith and then train new Jedi (not necessarily in game, but between the games), your dark and you kill as many Jedi as possible, or many years pass from KOTOR II and KOTOR III for the Jedi to grow in numbers. I don't think KOTOR II and KOTOR III will be seperated by many years, so I'm thinking you'll be one of the few Jedi left in KOTOR III again. But wouldn't be kind of lame to be "the last Jedi left" again. Any thoughts?
  14. I've given it some thought, and I've been thinking about how KOTOR I will affect KOTOR II. In KOTOR II, you tell how KOTOR I ended. Well lets say that you decide that Reven turned dark and took control of the Star Forge. Well, there are several things that could have happened to it, and none of them are all to appealing. A) The Star Forge is destroyed between the games. This make the first game somewhat pointless. If the Star Forge was so powerful and so important, how could a weak Republic destroy it? B) The Star Forge is around during KOTOR II but not causing you trouble. But if the superweapon is still around and not causing you trouble, then it detracts from it's power, which makes you wonder - why did you spend the first game looking for it? C) The Star Forge is around during KOTOR II and causing you trouble. Didn't you handle this in the first game? And if it's causing that much trouble, it would really affect the game if you said it was destroyed the first game (I say that because I don't think the game will have paths this diverse, so i don't think "C" is really going to be in KOTOR II) Any thoughts?
  15. They way things are going, Lucus may decide that after KOTOR III they should make a prequel trilogy to KOTOR. Then they can get really bad voice actors.
  16. Yeah, I think that they may get a new engine for KOTOR III. I know this engine is good, but the way they talk I think they have pushed it to it's limit for TSL and there won't be much to improve for the next KOTOR. Then again, I remember them saying they were creating TSL story before KOTOR I even came out. So we could assume that they'll be starting KOTOR III pretty soon.
  17. One of the things I didn't enjoy in the original it that the lightsabers didn't cast any light of the ground/wall/ect. For instance, when I first played I drew my lightsaber when I entered the crystal cave on Dantooine (sp?). I expected it to light the pathway so I could see where I was walking easier, but it didn't give off any light. I think it would be cool if in KOTOR II, when you activate your lightsaber (red or blue or whatever) that it light the area some, especailly in the dark areas.
  18. Why do all the "utility" droids look the same anyway? T3 was just a different color. You don't see any R2 style droids.
  19. Ok, The special edition has some good sides (cloud city, ect.). But who can really say that Hayden really belongs with the "Old Kenobi". Look, Vader came back to the light. Remember the scene where he tells Luke to take off his helmet (or is that going to be changed, too). Now if I remember correctly, the face under the mask didn't look anything like Hayden of the Ep 2 and 3. So shouldn't the ghost look like the man under the mask. They aren't putting Ewan McGreggor (or however you spell it) in Ep 6, he looks like he did when he died. Anyway... I'm not trying to make enemies, but I have a question for those who like all the changes in the special edition (especially Tyrell) - Can you really support the decision to have Greedo fire first in Ep 4? Why in the world does it matter that Solo didn't fire first? And how can an experienced bounty hunter (or even an unexperienced bounty hunter) miss from about three feet?
  20. Why are we limited to light or dark? As a Jedi, you can use your powers for the good of the galaxy (saving people; hacking Sith; ect.) or you can use your powers to hurt, have power over, or take control of people. Those are two distinct paths. If you don't help the woman and her child who are being attacked (a LS thing to do), you stay nuetral. If you don't use the force to force a guy to give you his credits or do want you want (a DS thing to do), you stay nuetral. In the end, to be nuetral you don't do anything that would require you to use your force or lightsaber. And even "nuetral" people like Jolee drew his lightsaber against the Sith, and Han Solo stopped Vader from turning Luke into space dust. For a character to be apart of the Star Wars story, you must fight in the war - for good or for evil. Sure you can be a bystander, but then you are not apart of the "war". Maybe that's one reason why your KOTOR II character left the order - she/he wanted to be "nuetral". Bottom line - either you fight to save the galaxy or take it. You don't fight it to "half take it over and half free it". A gray character would fight for balance between the two, and fighting both sides effectivley makes you dark (fighting against the light - the dark can fight against the dark {as the Sith always do} but the light cannot fight against the light).
  21. You can see Thrawn in action in the old TIE Fighter Game. There are several cutscenes in the game which Thrawn is shown. He would be a good villian, but I never remember him being a Sith or having force powers.
