About the level cap (POSSIBLE SPOILERS!!!)
BuckeyeRowe replied to ampulator00's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
That's the impression I got. When you get so high in levels, you can just tear up the Sith/Jedi/Whoever at the end. -

I find IGN to be pretty respectable. I would think after playing the game, they would know what they're talking about. -
KOTOR II: How to Talk Dirty and Influence People
BuckeyeRowe replied to Craftsman's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Uh, it's the same as KOTOR. If you look at the stats for the character, you will see the first six are attributes and seperated by a bold line is defense and vitality and seperated by a bold line is the fortitude, reflex, and will. This is the same as the original. EDIT: Just when you try to explain something, a dev steps in and says it first. -
Katarn types deserve whatever they get, for there lack of personality <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agreed.

The Silver Blade, and other missing colors..
BuckeyeRowe replied to ZethstaBane's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Same here. I've always favored blue and green (or red if I'm dark). -

I agree. Your apprentice shouldn't be "forced" to betray you, but they could use that new "influence" system to determine whether he/she would betray you. The problem with that is that being your apprentice, you and he/she would be pretty close, so I don't think you would ever be betrayed.
-
Yeah, I thought so.
-
I've wondered if maybe something like this would happen and your apprentice would fall to the dark side (or be redeemed to the light side) and turn on you and you would have to fight your apprentice (very movie-like).

Congrats, oh ye noble children of Obsidian!
BuckeyeRowe replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Thank you to all of those devs who put in the time and effort to give us something we all (well, most of us) will love. Many of you have given up your own time to make this game better than it has to be. And a special thanks to those who read the endless amount of questions that we had and helped us survive these long months leading up to the release. Thanks. -
KOTOR II: Gone Gold & Chronicles Updates
BuckeyeRowe replied to Biggs's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Here here! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agreed, Congrats to all who worked so hard on something we all can't wait to get our hands on (although some of us are going to wait longer that others). -
What annoyed you about KOTOR's plot?
BuckeyeRowe replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I always found it interesting how Admiral Karath took defected to the Sith and took his flagship with him, and yet, the Leviathan looked remarkably like the Star Forge ships and nothing like the Republic ships. Also the lack of respect for Revan bothered me, too. -
I think we will be able to make anyone our apprentice (except the droids, of course).

That would be an Ewok. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Remember Simon the Killer Ewok? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> HAHAHA Yes, I do Very Nice!

What's the last of the planets going to be?
BuckeyeRowe replied to Darth_Gandalf's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I say Coruscant. I remember months ago a bunch of people thought we would to go Coruscant because there was a piece written about "the halls of the Jedi Temple empty" and "the Hall of a Thousand Fountains silent after hundreds of Jedi fell in battle or joined the Sith" with a drawing/concept art of a Jedi in the Hall of a Thousand Fountains with the fountains quiet. And I think it would be cool to go to Coruscant. -
Designer Rambling: Security Skill
BuckeyeRowe replied to Chris Avellone's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
No, I had them in my inventory and Mission would make them for me. I just couldn't use them. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thats what I mean...They left the USE of them out, not them in entirety. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree with Hades_One, that would be very stupid. -

Designer Rambling: Security Skill
BuckeyeRowe replied to Chris Avellone's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Back to the security skill.... How do you use security tunnelers in KOTOR? I never did figure out how to use them. I'm playing through again, so could someone please tell me how? -
Uh.... I think you're mistaken. If you look at the screenshot, you will see that it says "Feats" at the top. This is NOT the FORCE POWERS section. It's clear that at least one class gets this free (and it wouldn't be a prestege class because in KOTOR Force Sensitive was a feat you got upon becoming a jedi, so since you're a jedi from the beginning of the game, you get Force Sensitive early. You get Unarmed Specialist 1 at the same time, the beginning of the game). But it is a feat, not a force power. (And if I remember correctly, Force Sensitive was just saying you could be a jedi and gave you bonus force points.)

Designer Rambling 2: The Lightsaber
BuckeyeRowe replied to Chris Avellone's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
That would be correct. The other three are lens, power cell, and ..... I always forget the third. -
I agree that lightsabers in the game are nothing like the sabers of the movies, and I wish they could be more like the films. The problem is I don't know how they could do that and still make the game fun. I do like what 213374U said about vitality points and life points though in the D20 system though. But I'm not even sure that would work.

Oh, kind of like Emmit Smith? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, Emmit Smith is a prime example.

I don't think so. I'd rather have him dead than weak. It's like a Hall of Fame football player who played past his prime. You would have rather seen him retire than see him pummeled and his career die off because he wasn't good enough anymore. (I know many of you don't come from places where football is popular, but I think you get my drift.)
