  1. That is how it should be properly handled. The game occasionally makes a distinction between "failure to acquire a boon" and "failing a check to acquire a boon." Passing on a boon should only count as the former, not the latter. Solutions that involve a emulating dice fail might put you in a situation that you technically shouldn't be in. No sense in trading one problem for another.
  2. Let me have a try at a few of these questions. > why the DLC (Obsidian edition) is still available for buy on Steam ? The new Obsidian Edition DLC pack is there for people who purchased the "base" version and now want to upgrade. It just appeared on the steam store last week. > With this Obsidian version, can I say : Today I have the full version of the game ? As of right now, you should have just about everything that is available in the game via play or treasure chests. > All the contents are here ? Yes. The only thing you would be missing are some of the custom dice sets and a couple rare seasonal promos that came out before the game was on steam. The remaining dice sets you can purchase with game gold. Seasonals might come around again at the appropriate time of year. > How can I increase my number of cards to have all of them (the 1318 cards) ? 1262 is the "correct" number for having everything in the Obsidian edition. The card counter is well-known for including unreleased content. Your number should increase further once the "Rise of the Goblins" DLC is released. > I will also have the future contents (next cards and next scenarios) for the second campaign ? I don't think any "season pass" has been announced yet. The most that the Obsidian edition has guaranteed is "a DLC pack that will be available in the near future". Likely that just means Goblins ADG1.
  3. The game needs more music? Because one dog ain't enough, and two is too low, 'tis I, Three Dog! Your friendly neighborhood minstrel! But first, a public service announcement: Don't feed the bears in the bear cave. That is all.
  4. If I had to guess, what you are most likely seeing is the rule: While encountering a card, each player may play no more than 1 card of each type during each step. When in a combat check, that "step" includes all of: Determine which die you’re using. Determine the difculty. Play cards and use powers that affect the check (optional). Assemble your dice. Attempt the roll. Take damage if you fail a check to defeat a monster. For example, if you use an item during your combat check, you can't use a different item's powers to reduce damage if you fail the check.
  5. The search box is up in the top-right corner. Is there any info in particular you are having trouble finding?
  6. Here's a quick cut-n-paste job to help illustrate the different types of card filagree. I think the rules on the max number of treasure cards have been temporarily relaxed. Your card collection will only catch the eye of Sauron if you have like 30+ of a specific card.
  7. I don't think I've had a chance to use that card in play. I'm willing to bet it is just a text typo, because that is how all the other Slaying-style cards function. The Horsechopper +1 card is correct in that it penalizes weapon proficiency (da goblinz stuffs!), but other cards shouldn't behave that way.
  8. I can't comment on the other problems, but 1261/1318 is pretty much the standard "full" set of cards. If you had positively everything, including the cards you can purchase in the in-app-store and a handful of special promos that pre-date the steam launch, the most you could possibly have is about 1270. The 1318 number has always been a little off. It includes a bunch of unreleased cards that the app knows about, but aren't officially part of the game yet.
  9. It's normal. The new $15 (US) DLC pack is for anyone who bought the Base Edition and is looking for an upgrade path to get the rest of the content. You should not purchase the Obsidian Upgrade DLC if you bought the Obsidian Edition or received the content through the Ambassador promo. You already have all that it offers.
  10. There is no Obsidian Upgrade code. The process is automatic after verifying your PFID and then linking up your Steam account. After you've logged into the website with your new Obsidian account, make sure to go to: https://pathfinder.obsidian.net/steam-promo to link everything up. After the process completes completes verification, all the DLC packs will be added to your account, no keys required. The full instructions are here, if you haven't already checked them out. The first post explains which steps are required to redeem the free content.
  11. Friday updates are such a regular event with this app, that it is practically tradition to drop a big patch before the weekend. Assuming that's still the plan, the Goblins update is probably circulating in the hands of a few review sites, and official or unofficial news will break through late morning, California time. If plans have slipped a little, I know I'm fine with that (opinions may understandably vary). Keeping on schedule is one metric for success, but so is sorting out issues before players are forced to deal with them. The QA phase of any development cycle rarely gets the love it deserves.
  12. I'd hesitate to say it makes a huge difference, but it does make a noticeable small difference. But the way that the rules for Pathfinder ACG work, it is a huge tangle of small rules with small effects. A change here or there may not have a tremendous effect on overall gameplay, but it can be really frustrating when you're expecting a specific means to resolve a situation and the app allows no such option. Is the issue particularly troublesome or obvious to those who haven't played the tabletop ACG? Not really. But opting to pass on acquiring a boon is in the rulebook (even the special updated edition on the app's steam page), and it would be nice to have a "No thanks!" button for those times you just aren't that interested in what the location deck offers.
  13. Yup. That pretty much seems to be the case. The following is correct for every treasure card (aside from promos or adventure reward cards): Salvage = 0 (B) + 1 (Common) 1 (AD1) 2 (Uncommon) 2 (AD2) 3 (Rare) 3 (AD3) 4 (Epic) 4 (AD4) 5 (Legendary) 5 (AD5) 6 (AD6) Regular campaign cards seem to generally follow that as well, and since they are common cards, I think you can expect:Salvage = Adventure Deck + 1 The notable exception being the zero-value salvage cards. Since I don't think the game is calculating salvage on-the-fly, I think they're just set to zero regardless of any formula.
  14. Check that you are logged into your Game Center account (same as your Apple ID). Occasionally your device may log you off, and that starts to break things for Pathfinder. 1. Open your iOS device and go to the Settings app 2. Scroll down about a third of the way and look for Game Center. It should be immediately above the Twitter and Facebook 3. Tap Sign In at the top of the screen to log in with your Apple ID.
  15. This is something of a well-known issue at this point. One of the devs even commented on it during a recent "Ask Me Anything" event over on reddit. I don't think I've seen anything specific regarding your first issue, but situational bugs like that have popped up a few times before. Maybe someone can find a way to reproduce it...
  16. The app is a bit power hungry on all platforms. There isn't much you can do other than turning off those extra effects in the Options screen. I'm not going to say that every Unity 3d games has similar problems, but when you have a bunch of assets, effects, and 3d bits, the behavior is pretty typical. Fortunately, the way the app handles character and parties is separate. A problem with one doesn't necessarily impact the other. When you start a scenario, what essentially happens is that the game "checks out" a copy of those characters from your roster. It is only when you successfully complete/forfeit a scenario that the game "checks a character back in" with their updated info. If something goes screwy mid-game and the party save corrupts, the "pre-scenario" copies of those characters are still in your roster. That is why it is generally somewhat safe to delete a party save when it dies. The individual characters "remember" how far they were in the game before whatever glitch may have destroyed the party save.
  17. And, it looks like confirmation came through via the twitters. Rise of the Goblins AD1 hits next week! @Obsidian
  18. Certainly wonderful news! If I recall correctly, BGG had some inside info regarding the PC release date, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if this were true too.
  19. Weekly challenges can also reward things other than gold. They have done it before for dice and a promo card, so there is no reason it can't happen again someday. In theory, it should also be possible to put out Monthly Challenges, or other complicated challenge chains. We'll have to see where things go in the coming updates. It sounds like they have all sorts of Glorious plans for the future.
  20. Not too long ago, The Black Monk wasn't correctly doing its "Before You Act" check. Perhaps the fix was a little... overzealous. Either there was some weird regression, or the internal logic on that card may be interpreting the BYA as a combat check. Stranger things have happened...
  21. Actually, I was also under the impression that infinitely replaying old scenarios wasn't permitted..., until I was informed that I was in error: Anyhow, there's nothing specifically wrong with a "low-level" character getting a hand-me-down card from a character that is further along in the game. The problem with the stash is that, for instance, it easily allows a party that has never been exposed beyond AD1 to suddenly possess a handful of AD6 cards. It is the sort of "Outside Context Problem" that the rules don't address because it is a situation that theoretically should have not occurred if the rules were being followed. I'm not saying it is cheating or anything, the stash just supports eventualities that didn't seem probable within the scope of the game as played normally.
  22. That's one way to do it. Though, if there is "good data" in the cloud, it is almost as easy to wipe the app from your mobile device and reinstall. After that, the game should revert everything to the last good sync. It is possible that it might not do anything for you, but there is a greater likelihood your mobile device died in the middle of managing save data than beaming the changes off to the cloud. Worst-case-sceanrio, you can also delete the party. That will free up the characters and allow you start a new party and bring them along as "Experienced" members. The characters will be exactly the same as you left them, and will have the same overall progress through the game. The only thing you will lose is credit towards Heroic and Legendary completions.
  23. I seriously second that! If you are unfamiliar with the game, knowing that the "sweet-spot" is 3-4 characters isn't very intuitive. Combine that with a quick explanation of "when should I split up my party members?" and you've got yourself a nice tutorial video on party sizes and its effect on the game.
  24. Thanks Fenixp - I have queried Admin if they would like to do this! The discord invite link below is found on the Obsidian Twitch Page. https://discord.gg/obsidian Everyone should feel free to stop by and tell us their favorite breakfast food, which should be waffles, because there is technically no other answer.
  25. I think that is precisely the sort of problem of they are trying to address here. Mikey and Aarik do a pretty awesome job keeping on top of twitter, twitch, and discord. Josh Sawyer does his cryptic dev posts and classic bike glamour shots on instagram. Occasionally cool stuff pops up on reddit. And that is all in addition to obsidian.net channels, including the webpage, forums, and devblogs. Once you're dialed into all the different information sources, you have a really clear picture of obsidian and community happenings. But keeping up with all that is actually a bit of work from the user's perspective. There is surprisingly little cross-talk between platforms (who here knows of the great OEW Breakfast war that ravaged Discord and Twitch? #Waffles4Life). Communities each have their own identity, and that's totally normal and fine. The question I see is: "How best can the community best keep informed of cool stuff going on elsewhere?" Maybe: - A portal, such as news.obsidian.net (News from the Eastern Reach, or something) with curated links and social media - Better embedding of social media posts. Getting the twitter feed displayed on the homepage, or as a sidebar in the forum listing would cover a lot of things - Some sort of media client or new social tool as others have suggested. Though, that is likely to run into the classic There are 14 Competing Standards issue It is certainly a wonderful dream and imagine a unified solution. But the best thing that can be done is probably also the easiest. Pick an existing tool such as twitter, and use it all the time to post cool stuff and promote community and developer content. Once fans are reasonably sure there's one social media feed that covers most of what they're interested in, other communities will just look toward it as a reliable source in the future.
