  1. Anyone tried playing through MotB as a Doomguide yet?
  2. " O for a Muse of fire, that would ascend The brightest heaven of invention, A kingdom for a stage, princes to act And monarchs to behold the swelling scene! Then should the warlike Harry, like himself, Assume the port of Mars and at his heels, Leash'd in like hounds, should famine, sword and fire Crouch for employment. But pardon, and gentles all, The flat unraised spirits that have dared On this unworthy scaffold to bring forth So great an object: can this c0ckpit hold The vasty fields of France? or may we cram Within this wooden O the very casques That did affright the air at Agincourt? O, pardon! since a crooked figure may Attest in little place a million; And let us, ciphers to this great accompt, On your imaginary forces work. Suppose within the girdle of these walls Are now confined two mighty monarchies, Whose high upreared and abutting fronts The perilous narrow ocean parts asunder: Piece out our imperfections with your thoughts; Into a thousand parts divide on man, And make imaginary puissance; Think when we talk of horses, that you see them Printing their proud hoofs i' the receiving earth; For 'tis your thoughts that now must deck our kings, Carry them here and there; jumping o'er times, Turning the accomplishment of many years Into an hour-glass: for the which supply, Admit me Chorus to this history; Who prologue-like your humble patience pray, Gently to hear, kindly to judge, our play. " -Prologue, Henry V
  3. The stealthed rogues are annoying, yeah; the only real way to take them on is about one or two at a time, which means no rushing through the mansion. You may also need to retreat and rest a few times; this isn't that huge a deal though, really. I found it eminently doable with a screwed-up Favoured Soul build and again as a Drow Warlock. Not tried with a non-magic class, though.
  4. The stupidity of that woman... defies reality itself.
  5. The first few books are little... atypical of the series. Once you get to, say... Guards! Guards!, you should have a clearer idea of whether you want to stick with the series or not. Personally, I started with Jingo.
  6. ... Why? The trilogy was always planned as three SPRPGs, IIRC.
  7. Is it just me, or is both the "official" art and Morgoth's much too tame? If you're going to do the "t3h h4wt s3cks" gambit, then Sie should be centre-stage and more... strutting. Like the Red Alert 3 cover. That said, the covers of the best-selling PC games are pretty diverse - the covers of Cossacks and Counter-Strike are pretty awful, for example. And the covers of Diablo II and NWN, to take two examples, are hardly bright. IMO, in a world of oversaturated advertising, low-key stands out.
  8. That was a trailer, I wont be judging it for good until I watch some people play it. For now, I'm only calling it trash. I wasn't commenting on the game's eventual quality, but on the popularity of TOR amongst gamers. Given that the sample at KotORFiles is very much the hardcore, we can imagine pretty easily that the rest of the playerbase have an even higher pro- proportion. And you really shouldn't believe things you read on YouTube comments. 98.9% of what's written or posted on YT is utter tripe.
  9. Uh... "capturing the feel" wasn't the point. The level design frequently reflects the themes of the game.
  10. Given the recent poll on KotORFiles ( link ), I'm fairly certain that the majority of KotOR fans are up for the MMO, even if I'm not. And the non-fan playerbase are far less picky about stuff like whether it's an MMO, TBH, and are for the most part of the "zOMG, KotOR II suxxx, it r 2 broked" camp.
  11. A man can dream. :_c Wait, scratch that: A man exists to dream. But what can change the nature of a dream?
  12. I've been checking out a few modules for NWN2. First up, I went fo Christian Mayr's A Bet, A Corpse. The word "insane" is best applied to this; it's eccentric, frequently psychedelically lit (no, seriously - there are more than a few areas like the inside of a lava lamp), and either I'm playing it wrong, or it's quite bugged, too. There's no XP and virtually no combat, either - this is basically a very screwed-up adventure game. I'd try the Purgatorio demo, but I'm on a d/l limit, and that thing is huge.
  13. I don't get it. They've got soul/pun on Eldritch Knight.
  14. Do you have any mods installed, and if so, which? Also, do you have the 1.0b patch? And what are your specs?
  15. There should be a prestige class for cleric/martial types called the Gladys Knight.
  16. Hmm. I was thinking an extra colon could really add to the awfulness. Age of Darkness: Shadows Rising: Hordes of the Narcolich? This gives the acronym AoD:SR:HotN.
  17. You should also be warned that the first act is a lot slower than the rest of the game. After the trial, the speed picks up again quite quickly. I mean, it's still positively breakneck compared to NWN1's opening, but still.
  18. For myself, I am intent upon archaism sufficient as to maintain the status quo for the next century.
  19. That's a point. How about: Dark Shadows Rising: Hordes of the Narcolich?
  20. Does it have an overgod? I was thinking there should be a Quasi-Autonomous Non-Partisan Executive Board, made up of the eight gods... (now Vagus is dead) Perhaps Munchkeeen acts as chairperson? Edit: According to my post on p.6, there is the Mysterious Overgoddess Mum (also Mom), which explains why there are only eight dark gods... Ah, well. I'm sure we can retcon this in such a way that none of it quite fits together. :D Would love to, but I have the technical skills of a tadpole. I'm sure a team could be assembled. Perhaps it could be called Rouge, Duh... Excellent. :D Although it needs more words like "Dark", "Night", "Hords" and other such words in its title (as well as mention of the premium module, Chub-Fuddler). The dark elves were obviously enslaved by the light elves for a long time, so that there can be clumsy and ham-fisted insertion of Real-World Issues .
  21. I've been aked a few times to be a bit more "pacific" when asking something. I may know what they mean, but I'm going to be as literalist and annoying as possible.
