Not precistely. The possibility to Succeed is spelled out. "Otherwise" implies ALL OTHER possibilties. So not "Succeed or Fail" so much as "Succeed or NOT Succeed". Boris has you on this one. Not succeeding implies an attempt, as you can not be unsuccessful at something you never attempted.

So the other day I paid the 19.99 for 20000, then got 40+8 chests. I remember seeing a lot of interesting cards, today I scrounged up 5000 and bought another 10+1 chests. I was paying attention to "B" cards, because that is what I am currently running, I saw 2 Smiths, 1 Noble Brat, and 2 Weasels. All cards I had seen in abundance in the 40+8 chests, but NEVER saw in the last 2 days of adventuring (farming). When I looked at my vault I couldn't find ANY cards I recognized from the 40+8 chests (Multiple Lucerine hammers, the armor that acts like sneak attack, Prince, all the additional Smiths, etc.) Is anyone else having this problem? It's got me a little pissed. Attached: att message of 20000 gold purchase. EDIT: Now all the ones I posted a screenshot of before are gone (see post further down). I have lost 59 chests worth of cards.....

Except the giant gaping "close app" hole. Ditto, I'd also like to see. It seems like some cards don't ever leave the vault. After beating a story location on legendary I like to farm to maximize my deck before continuing. I spent a day chasing the "mythical" flaming mace. I literally just got it not 5 minutes ago, first sighting since Saturday, been farming it since yesterday.

While I love gaming, it just isn't the same without a group.... :/ I want to wait till they can play. I have already forced them to DL the app so we won't need to learn. :D

I sometimes use Kyra for deck mining (Augery, Spyglass) combo'd with blessings, and healing.

Heal power using Holy Water is off, it is 1d4 instead of 1d4+1. That is the only "broken" thing I have noticed with the rolling. I admit, sometimes it does feel broken, but other times it seems broken in the opposite way, I will roll high on every dice. I just rolled a 49 to kill Black Fang using 1d8, 3d12, 2d6, all dice were in the upper range (7, 12, 11, 9, 6, 4 respectively).

Thanks to Kickstarter, BGG Secret Santas, and a group that is busy and gets stuck in gaming ruts; I haven't played 3/4 of my collection.

For a brief while the Heroic Power at Blackfang's Dungeon was: When you encounter a monster with the Undead trait, each character AT ANY LOCATION must summon and encounter an Ancient Skeleton Henchman. Let me tell you there are a LOT of monsters in deck B that have the Undead trait. Turning each one into a Skeleton Horde wore your party down real quick. It is still that. I farm it on legendary for items, weapons, and gold before branching out. Text added and bold for emphasis.Oh wow, yeah big difference! That would be fun!

Reminds me of one of the bugs when Talisman went digital. Only saved after the turn. You could exit, force close, restart and take the turn again.....good times. If you played the thief you were unstoppable.

I think it was a combination of the cloak and the auto close condition. I only used the cloak to get it out of my hand rather than discarding it.

It is still the same. If you do button your coat you won't catch a cold. If you do not button your coat you will catch a cold. Otherwise is a substitute for an either/or statement.

I how about "Best Luck": 2 turn win (thanks to a bug) in 1-3 Kyra - Using blessings explore 3 times, find 2 blessings and a Skeleton henchman, kill, kill second, close with check. Use Stride to move to next location, use 1 blessing, end turn, draw blessing. Merisel - explore 2 times using blessing, encounter skeleton, use evade/move cloak thing because I want to farm the item location, move to the last remaining location, previous location closes automatically (BUG). Explore again and find dragon, use Light Cross bow, discard for Sneak attack, and one of Kyra's blessings to kill Dragon.

While it says you MAY choose to attempt, it says nothing about what happens if you don't choose to. It is legitimately Schrodinger's Check. It is neither successful nor unsuccessful, play is immediately in a state of flux and can not continue. Unless they have rewritten this somewhere it is unresolved.

No, the word "Otherwise" in english is used to join a dependant clause to a statement. This sentence says: If you succeed at a check to acquire a boon, put it in your hand. If you do not succeed at a check to acquire a boon, banish it. There is no mention of not attempting a check. Also a semicolon is grammatically incorrect.

When you encounter a boon, one of three things is going to happen: 1) You attempt the check and succeed 2) You attempt the check and fail 3) You don't attempt the check at all It is 100% incontrovertibly, unambiguously evident from the FAQ's use of the word "otherwise" if that if #1 happens, then the card goes into your hand; OTHERWISE -- meaning, whether you failed the check or didn't try it at all -- the boon is banished. p.s. I have great love and respect for Hannibal. This boon stuff just really tickles me. <3 Incorrect, per your own snippet it ONLY states what happens if you ATTEMPT the check. For example, if you evade the boon it just gets shuffled back into the location deck.

Are there any "app only" exclusive cards? If not has there been any talk of them? Being that the game has gone digital I'm hoping that there ends up being an achievement system that can net you special things like exclusive cards, treasure chests, "Fate points" per scenario, +% of gold found, or +% of base items removed when advancing in levels... Kind of like "Badass Points" in Borderlands 2....

If it works like the physical game, then you'd only be able to choose from basic cards, not any card in your vault. So you wouldn't be able to add something like Father Zantos to your deck. I imagine the digital version must work the same? Since you can customize your starting deck with basic cards when starting a new character anyway, it's not really worth the effort. Hmm, maybe. I found this out early in the game, so I don't thing I would have had anything interesting in there (and now that you say that I don't want to retry it...)
